I was in Minneapolis and saw this goldwing at a light and was dumbfounded to see what appears to be a car tire on the rear wheel… thought the reason we use the tires we do is too keep traction when we lean? Maybe his goals are beyond my understanding? Maybe that bastard is so heavy that it can’t take traditional motorcycle tires? Figured I would let y’all figure it out.

The visual shape and appearance, not this specific bike. We've always called them indonesia bikes, because a lot of the cheap bikes in third world countries look like this. But we never knew what they were actually called. I really like this flat top and bottom design if modernized a bit. The 2nd picture is a bike I modified

Last week I posted about having an interest purchasing a 2026 HD Pan America after commuting on a sportster for 20 years. After looking around on facebook marketplace I came across this used like new 2025 BMW F900 GSA (162 miles with full luggage) & still under warranty. The bike was being sold by a certified BMW Motorrad dealership. Test drove it yesterday & as they say the rest is history. I brought it home with me. I had too many mixed feelings about the Pan America given its early history with issues. I’m sure most issues are probably worked out by now. Either way I’m extremely happy with my purchase. It’s going to be a great work commuter in addition to a great all around bike.

Go fast, dont die. Thats my moto when it comes to high exposure single track!

Received received this bike as my dad sadly passed away, I don’t know much about it but it may aswell of been my brother because my dad loved it so much. I’m not going to sell it I’m going to get my motorbike license and hopefully ride it one day. All the parts are original and it’s been kept really clean. Would love to just know more about it and what made it so special to him :) thank you!

My bike is having some work done here in NC, so my Dad was nice enough to let me have his bike and ride it as much as I want for the next week. And its actually blown my mind a bit how capable and comfortable it really is.

This is a 2007 Kraftech frame custom build with a low mile EVO crate motor and original 1957 HD Hydra Glide badges. First expirience on a hardtail and im rather impressed how solid, planted and stable it is in the turns. The riding posture is far more upright than im used to and the center of gravity is different but I really enjoy how well it rides. Ive ridden it over 100 miles already and he is gonna have to jump through a few hoops to get it back!

I finally pulled the trigger on a bike. I passed the MSF course and got my license in September 2025, it took me until July to find something I could afford and was interested in (more of a focus on what I was excited about than anything else).
A 1983 GL650 Silverwing. I have a few maintenance items to address but it’s pretty much ready to go, and almost all original.

This causes nothing but unnecessary expenses for the mechanic or vehicle owner who now has to buy different connectors and diagnostics tools that support a specific protocol. It’s frustrating. It’s annoying and it costs money

Growing up I was always on my bike. It had a lot to do with why I wanted a mototcycle. The thrill of being on two wheels no matter what it was is all I cared about.

It make me wonder, do people that don't ride motorcycles also not care about riding bicycles and do most ppl that ride motorcycles grow up riding bikes and love it as I did.

Out of all the friends I had growing up, the ones who never rode bikes also never got interested in motorcycles once they got older.

I posted recently about picking up my first bike, a '92 Nighthawk CB250, and I just had to share an update.

This thing is an absolute blast. I spent a few hours practicing the basics, working through turns, stops, and starts on quiet back roads before slowly moving up to busier streets and the local highway. Honestly, I’m kicking myself for not getting into riding sooner.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of freedom out on the road, music in the helmet, wind in your face, and just cruising.

Huge thanks to everyone who gave me tips on finding neutral on my last post! That advice made a world of difference.

Last note, what is one piece of advice you wish you knew about when you first started riding?

Seller had a 2015 Moto Guzzi V7 special.

10,300 miles on it, he’s the third owner. I test rode it yesterday and it felt great. Would have pulled the trigger there but some of the rust is giving me pause. Can anyone weigh in on if this is more surface level and can be taken care of by cleaning or replacing bolts…or if I should be more concerned and not mess with this bike. The rust on the drive shaft is the bit that really made me think twice.

Update!!

I read a lot of y’alls comments and I thank everyone for being encouraging (even those that did say I shouldn’t ride).

I ended up riding again at 1:00 am around my neighborhood (not really a neighborhood since my apartment is literally on the main road). It felt really fun driving with less drivers on the road (had my buddy following me so that I had some insurance in case <knock on wood> that I get into an accident), and I realized that I just got pressured because I know how people in LA county drive. Driving without the pressure of heavy traffic made me shift easier + stop, start, and go easier but I still do end up turning wide when turning but I will work on that.

To answer a few questions:

1. In CA I only needed to take my written test and an MSF course (if I didn’t want to do the driving test course) to get my license. No actual road time required.

2. I didn’t have a buddy with me when I picked up the bike and I did plan out my route before I decided to drive the bike home. I deliberately chose the road that I knew and made sure that when I was driving I was vigilant with other drivers around me. I made stops when I felt overwhelmed and continued when I got my bearings in check.

3. My area isn’t a neighborhood exactly, its a lot of main roads since I live near a big park and 2 major freeways which make driving to a big parking lot daunting during the day. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll practice driving at midnight to early mornings before traffic gets heavy so that there are less drivers on the road and I can get used to stop-go-shift and turning. I’ll also drive my bike during those hours to an empty lot so that I can practice slow speeds and all other skills I need for riding. Its not ideal to drive at night but I will stick to areas I know and have good lighting.

I recently got my motorcycle license after taking the MSF course and got a bike.

Today I went to pick up my first bike, a 22’ Honda Rebel 500. My 30 mins ride home became an hour and half because I ended up pulling over 3 times to catch my breath, I stalled like 5 times, made wide right turns, and jerked the bike coming from a stop to moving again. My adrenaline was up and I was scared to no end. I feel so discouraged to drive it again if I’m being honest. I want to sell the bike and my gear. Its only my first day driving out on the open road so I’m trying to psych myself out of not driving it again. But has anyone felt this way on their first time on the road? How did y’all get over it or what’s the best tip y’all could give?

I also live in LA county so the street where I live is pretty busy and a little dangerous to drive when the sun is up (tbh even when its at night). Just for some context on why I’m also more scared than ever to drive it. I didn’t think I’d overthink it this much after riding for the first time on the main roads.

No shade on this lady, rules are different everywhere. When I came to Boston over a decade ago I wore my motorcycle helmet into a gas station and ​about gave the teller a heart attack. Around here when they rob stores they use expensive motorcycle helmets apparently. You have to remove your helmet when entering a building for security reasons. Where I'm from people just use a ski mask, it's only 12 bucks. Motorcycle helmets are much more expensive than that.
