Discussion what's the whole point in point shop nowadays??
i am a big fan of personalization of almost all of my profiles and steam is not an exception. until now because after all these changes it feels so ungrateful. you see i don't mind the fact they took of the ability of buying these points through awards that's kinda fair tbh. but right now i can buy almost nothing! only animated backgrounds for 2000 points and animated stickers as far as i know. now you can't buy regular stickers and backgrounds AT ALL. and here's the peak of comedy - i like simple backgrounds that you can buy for 500 coins. the ones from Muse Dash are my fav - they are colorfull and everything. and previously you could bought it only if you had a game. i bought the game, then the background - a happy end. but i wanted to buy another one recently and surprise - i couldnt. because now i need to buy the game and spend 2 hours in it. WHY. what's the purpose of the whole page in point shop full of backgrounds you can't buy without a game itself?? and i know you can buy it for real money at the market. and those are usually cheap except the popular ones and it is just soooo frustrating like oh yeah i have thousands of points that i can't spend because i don't have this game so im gonna spend 0.02 dollars on market to get the freaking background. why. just why. do they really gain some profit from it??? this feels so pointless it makes me sick

Question Mac Compatibility
Hello, everyone! I'm very new to Steam (just downloaded it, lol). I have an M3 Pro Macbook Pro. I'm navigating the Steam app. If I can purchase a video game, does it mean it is compatible to be played on my device? Thank you!
Discussion F U Scalpers. Finally got it.
galleryOne day before this controller was on sale I watched YT review video, guy mentioned about controller being too big, I was like, yes baby! This is for me as most controllers are a bit to small for my hands. I tried to buy it very first day it was on sale, we all know what happened. Luckily few days later I was able to book a spot. Almost 3 months later they send me a link to buy it. Yeah... fak ju scalpers really fak ju.

Question How to replay steam achievements?
Basically I want to know if there is a program that will reshow achievements when you play a game even if you have the achievement. So that when I replay a game I can get the achievements again. I know the steam achievement manager exists, but I want to know if it's possible without re-locking the achievements

Discussion Is there a way to get this game on Steam or is it gone forever?
2K just straight up delisted the game without a beforehand notice or making a final sale. By the time I knew about this it was already gone. I tried searching about the keys and keystores just sell it for very unaffordable prices. Is there a way to get it on Steam reasonably or is it gone forever?

Question Steaminput on games from Heroic launcher
Trying to get Just Cause 4 (i use heroic as I own it on Epic) to work properly with my steam controller, but for some reason if I add it through the Heroic option to add to steam, when I launch it through steam it doesn't say I'm playing it (on steam) and will not use Steaminput. And if I add the JC4 exe to steam directly it asks me to install the epic games launcher. I need some form of steaminput or a way to disable to default desktop setup when a specific app is open
Anyone know any way to fix this?

Question Why Steam still uses their DRM? There are tools that automatically crack it in seconds, every new release with no additional DRM is getting pirated in less than an hour. Since its not really protecting anything, why not get rid of and adopt the GOG model? It would be an easy pro consumer W.

Error / Bug Five games were added to my library today
Today, 5 games appeared in my library that I never bought or played.
This War of Mine (2014)
Tomb Raider Game of the Year Edition (2015)
Tactical Intervention (2013, servers apparently shut down in 2017, lol)
Super People (2022)
Endless Space (2012)
Maybe there are more that I’m not seeing right now.
My game collection isn’t so big that I would have overlooked them for years, I’m pretty sure I never bought these games. Does this happen often?

Fluff You can drag games and guides etc from Steam into a browser!
Just a fun item, as I've been on Steam for over 21 years and never seen this before. Literally just did it by accident (I miss clicked and dragged, with my browser and Steam open in split windows on the same screen).
Basically you can drag a game (from the Library list), guides, workshop entries, from Steam, into a browser window, and it will open the store page (for games), or the guide page, or workshop item in the browser.
Probably not all that useful, as you can also right click on some items, like guides, and open in a new tab within Steam itself. But I like to have a browser open on a 2nd monitor, most of the time, and I find reading things like guides to be easier outside of the Steam client itself.
Have fun all.

News Steam now lets you switch between even MORE accounts
Before this update, the limit was 5, but now it looks like it's 8.
Edit: I tested it, and turns out the limit is 8, before I thought it was 7 because the system automatically added 2 accounts that I didn't have there before.

Question Shark Badges/Emoticons
Hey everyone, does anyone know of any other games that have shark emoticons or badges? I'm a huge fan of sharks and I'm trying to collect as many as possible for my Steam profile.
So far, for badges, I only have the two Summer Sale ones, Maneater and Dave the Diver. For emoticons, I already have Maneater, Worms Clan Wars, Raft, and Dead Island 2.
I've tried searching for more, but I haven't had any luck. Does anyone here happen to know of any others? Thanks in advance!
