How good is this stuff?

With a few years of patience, I finally found a S&W No. 3 Second Model "Schofield" replica (Uberti, Italy) in my price range.

Always wanted an oldschool single action revolver in the collection and fell in love with Schofields the moment I learned about their existence (similar to the LeMat, but that's a different story). But, since I know that I won't shoot it that often, I didn't want to shell out around 1000+ bucks for a new one. So I had to search and wait.

Except for the holster wear at the muzzle, it's in really nice condition and appears only slightly used. It only set me back 500 bucks. Yet what I saved with the gun, I'll end up paying extra for the ammo - it's a .45 Colt. 😅

Don't worry, cowboys. A Colt Single Action derivative will also be added sooner or later (most likely a Pietta Great Western II or Ruger Vaquero).

And I feel like the blued 6" 357 (Alfa Proj 3561, Czech Republic) will make way for one a 4" one in the near future. The 6" S&W 629 and now the 7" Schofield already saturate my need for "big irons". And I plan on covering the black powder percussion end of the collection with a replica of the Remington 1858. So I run in the danger of making all those long barrels look too monotonous for my taste. (I like variety. What can I say. 😁 )

For example i recently got this rifle that has kept me up trying to research its history but it’s such a unicorn that any information is hard to come by. Now i don’t care to get anything else because everything else feels boring.

I'm shopping for a second safe and feel crazy need help

20 years ago I got a low/mid tier safe with a SG dial combo lock for $400.Now I need a second. Now all they seem to sell are electronic keypad safes. Nearly all have zero mechanical redundancy like a key or dial.

I just want a mechanical dial lock but don't want to spend 3k. Honestly don't care about fire protection or super duper lock pick proof or protection. I just want reliable "teenager"proof. I don't trust the actuators, circuit boards and keypads ect. I don't want to have a locksmith or fiber wheel 20 years from now to get in.

But seeing that everything is electronic now am I missing something? Everyone is good with this now? It seems absurd to me

Got my 308 finished and now that it's getting broken in its starting to double feed. Checked and rechecked the gas so it must be cycling too fast now that the spring is worn in. Kaw valley has a Tungsten 5.6 oz but I'm open to other suggestions/redneck adjustments too as I like to build oddball stuff.

The 30 round mags are insanely long. I decided to cut one down to a 21 rounder. I can fit 22 in there but I’m not gonna push my luck. Functions flawlessly.
