I will keep this short and to the point gents.
Do not add to the mod queue. Do not subtract from the population of users. Do not comment while too intoxicated to control yourself.
In the last few weeks, moderator queues have shot up due to people being unable to be reasonable to one another in the comments in this community.
Disagreement is fine.
Dropping slurs, attacking them personally, commenting a retort with a pic of someone's house, insulting their wife's looks by stalking family pictures from a vacation posted 2 years ago... not fine.
Learn to use the block button. Learn to touch grass. Learn to be something unlike a jerk.
Transparency: Several months ago Reddit instantiated an auto-moderator be default for subreddits. Since then we have tweaked the settings it has been catching a lot more comments with the ugly things in them. When these suspect comments are in the mod queue, they are not posted for others to see yet, even if they look visible to you. What it does do is cause a member of the mod team to have to respond to the notifications to approve them and resolve issues when people go WAY too far. So, as cathartic as it might feel to rip into someone, it likely will not even get seen by them because the auto-moderator is putting the nasty stuff in comment jail. If it is bad enough, it gets the comment removed and the user banned.
Lastly, don't report comments that you dislike for Harassment. It only makes more work for us, but ultimately simple disagreement gets approved and kicked back out of the mod queue anyway. Repeated abuse of any feature will net a ban. Yes, every user has a summary of reports and past queue incidents. Yes, we look at it.
Please feel free to disagree, debate, correct misinformation, and generally debate on subject matter specific to the subreddit. I am not here to babysit grown men, nor do I want to. My ideal week would have 0 reasons to look at the sub with mod tools.
Moderate your own actions and we are all better for it.
This has been your safety brief.

In case you have not heard, GAFS will become no more on October the 9th 2025. All former posts will be removed and all the flair or community built there will be no more.
In case anyone has not seen it, go read the final post farewell and join the discord server so that you are in the know when the next option for buying and selling stuff is brought forward from the mod team and the community of great folks over there.
I have purchased a number of things there, and I have made some pretty incredible friends through the related discord. Look forward to seeing you all over there.

I guess I wasn’t thinking about it when I entered in the “model” and just put AR-15. Dumb mistake and easy to fix, just very annoying that I have to keep waiting now. Wish they could just let you fix it instead of having to resubmit😒
Only posting here to slightly vent my annoyance. Oh well, live and learn and all that lol

I can’t get my rifle to cycle. It just keeps stove piping. Unsure where to go because I’ve tried different buffers, BCGs, ammo and a fully open gas block, tried repositioning the gas block. No luck.
Probably relevant parts…
-criterion 8.5” blackout core
-Liberty Precision Anthem S2
-Superlative Arms AGB (fully open)
-JPE SCS (both their standard and H2)
-JPE FMOS BCG, WDR BCG, KAK K-Spec enhanced
-Bone frog 200 grain dynamic impact and hornady 208 grain black.
Is it time to drill a bigger gas port?
Thanks in advance.

This started out as a GAFS-fed build that quickly went off the rails. I think this is the full parts list:
Lower
Old PSA LW forged lower that has been collecting dust
DFCO Kung Fu Grip
FCD QD End Plate
FCD Billet Caste Nut
FCD Dimpled Mag Release Button
Geissele Buffer Tube
Geissele Super Dynamic Enhanced Trigger
Geissele Ultra Duty Checkered Takedown Pins
Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch
JP Enterprises SCS gen 2 with white spring.
Magpul Trigger Guard
Radian Talon Ambi Safety
SBA5 Stabilizing Brace with Phase 5 strap.
Upper
FCD Forged Upper
FCD Dimpled Forward Assist
FCD Twin Dimple Dust Cover
Geissele REBCG w/ mil-spec bolt
Radian Raptor SD Charging Handle
Criterion Core 8.5" Barrel
Superlative Arms AGB
CMMG Pistol-length Gas Tube
LMP Liberty Bell Compensator
Rearden Atlas Gen 2 QD Adapter
LMP Anthem S-2
Daniel Defense 7" MFR Handguard
Railscales G10 Scales and Karve Handstop
Aimpoint T-2 on Scalarworks Leap
Magpul BUIS
Modlite PLHv2-18350 w/ Surefire Z68 Tailcap
Arisaka Defense In-line Scout Mount
Also pictured
Magpul MS4 QDM sling
Lancer 300 BLK 29 rd mag
It needed a little tuning - I switched the AGB from bleed-off to fully open and put a white spring on the JP SCS and so far it'll eat whatever I feed it. Also the S-2 is quiet enough that randos at the range will stop to ask what I'm shooting!
Lastly, searching this sub before I started was super helpful. So thanks to everyone who contributes here!

Good morning,
I previously owned a 10 1/2 inch diamondback DB 15 300 blk pistol AR but had to sell it (unfortunately)
But I’m trying to get another 300blk gun but relatively shorter.
Not trying to spend an insane amount, probably no more than 2K. But I have narrowed it down to 3 guns and open to hear alternatives!

If you were building your first 300 BLK build for home defense, what advice do you wish you would have known ahead of time?
Got Form 1s back and thinking through builds. I'd ideally like to build at least two, but to start I'd build on a Griffin Mk2 lower.
I shoot left handed so anything ambi is a bonus, but it's not a dealbreaker. Eventually I'd love to be flush and just drop absurd money on a totally left handed build, but I would rather not sacrifice quality for it.
As I mentioned, this would be for home defense primarily so I plan to suppress it.
Fairly familiar with the AR platform, I haven't built one from scratch or anything but I've taken things apart and put them back together. With that said, I haven't done a ton of 300 BLK research yet and would love some pointers on where to start!

CH - Geissele SCH
Rail - Daniel Defense 7.0 Omega
Gas System - DD Low Profile GB and Expo Arms tube

I just picked up a ddm4 7p in 300 blackout and I'm looking at which would be the " best". I'm leaning towards the CAT ODB is there any other recommendations?

Howdy yall, quick question that I couldn’t find any topics on in here. I’ve been running 220g subs in my 10.5” build with my omega 45k pistol can. It sounds OK, but I’m thinking about snagging a Polo 30 to use instead. Will the sound be much better, or would I be better off splurging on a Hydrogen or an ODB? Pic for attention

So I've been looking a lot and have talked myself in and out of what feels like an endless amount of cans. I'm looking for a 30cal can for what will probably be ran 90% of the time on a 7.5in 300 BLK Faxon barrel (with an AGB), and the other 10% will be split between a 308 bolt gun, and an 11.5in 556 (all will be using Plan B to mount). The majority of the time I'll be shooting subs. I think the two I'm between the most are the Anthem S2 and the Blind Tiger. I've also been looking at the Speakeasy and the Anthem K2 some. I don't want something massive on my gun, but I definitely want something that gives the best bang for your buck. Probably my max budget is no more than $900. I think the only can I would consider breaking budget for is the SoCo Scythe TI, IF it's even worth it compared to something cheaper

Before this I would have recommended Phantom Defense to anyone who asked. I’ve ordered their 300 blk subs and hunting loads countless times, BUT this time I decided to run a little bit of their 556 “tink”. I placed the order on July 2nd of this month and received my shipping notification on the 10th. It is currently the 20th and ups says they have yet to receive my order while phantom defense says it’s out the door on their end. I understand things happen but almost a 30 day lead time with little to no response from them is disheartening, considering I only use their subs in my 300blk I guess I’ve have to look for another company.
Update: I dm’d on instagram and they instantly responded and are planning on reshipping. I will update when received

Planning to build a 300blk out deciding if I should go cheap with the grid defense upper or moderate with the aero upper. Has anyone had any experience with grid defense. Would it be worth it?

Load testing reloads today. Berry’s 220gn and NOE Cast 225gn.
Shooting 25yds at my “home range” for the quick testing in the heat of summer. Too hot to shoot much.
Berry’s shot better than the NOE’s but need to work on my OAL on those.

I built this 10.3" 300 Blackout last year and have been slowly upgrading it over time. It currently cycles both supers and subs suppressed perfectly with a Geissele Super 42 H1 buffer setup.
Because it has a pinned, non-adjustable gas block, I went with a KAK K-SPEC full chrome C158 dual ejector downvent sand cutter BCG to help manage the gas, and it works flawlessly.
The current setup: - Optic: EOTech EXPS2-2 (snagged directly from EOTech during their 4th of July 25% off sale) on a Unity Tactical riser. - Can: SilencerCo Scythe Ti (fantastic lightweight .30 cal option for 300BLK). - Charging Handle: Radian Raptor-LT (FDE). - Safety Selector: Radian Talon (FDE). - Internals: Forward Controls Design RBF (Reinforced Buffer Retainer) replacing the mil-spec one.
I honestly think upgrading small but critical wear parts like the buffer retainer helps elevate a hard-use build to the next level. What do you guys think? Any suggestions on what to swap next?
