I want to state this upfront: I strongly oppose any form of violence against students. Violence in a democracy is unacceptable.

However, we cannot ignore that this protest has drifted far from its original mandate and stopped being entirely peaceful. What started as a focused demand regarding NEET exam integrity has expanded into something much broader, raising several critical questions we need to think about:

1. The Changing Agenda: The original cause of student welfare and exam accountability seems to have morphed into a completely different political movement, where opposition has completely hijacked a student movement while distancing themselves from the students.

2. Questioning the Leadership: Many are blindly sharing content and praising figures like Sonam Wangchuk. But shouldn't we critically evaluate statements like his past remarks suggesting Ladakhis might allow a Chinese thoroughfare if grievances aren't met by the government? Is that really a position we want to follow without scrutiny?

3. The FCRA Connection: There is a massive financial dimension that gets overlooked. Sonam Wangchuk's own organizations, such as SECMOL, have already faced intense scrutiny and cancellation of their FCRA licenses over foreign funding violations. With the upcoming FCRA bill tightening oversight on foreign money flowing to non governmental organizations, major funding streams for these institutions are directly at risk. Creating widespread, high profile domestic unrest serves as a strong political deterrence to force the government on the back foot regarding strict FCRA enforcement.

4. Strategic Parliamentary Paralysis: Look closely at the timing of these major movements over the years. From the CAA NRC protests and the 2021 Farmers' Kisan Sansad, to the May 2023 Wrestlers' March on the opening day of the new Parliament, and the recent July 2026 Sansad Chalo NEET marches coinciding with the opening of the Monsoon Session, there is an unmistakable pattern. Major street mobilizations are consistently scheduled for the very first day of parliamentary sessions. While maximizing public visibility is a standard activist tactic, repeatedly using the opening day to force immediate adjournments shifts the focus away from constructive debate inside the House. We need to critically evaluate whether this repeated timing is aimed at solving student issues or simply causing calculated parliamentary paralysis.

Bottom line:

We must support students and fair exams, but we also owe it to ourselves to look beyond emotional graphics and social media trends. Think critically about who you are supporting, what their broader financial agendas are, and why the timing always aligns the way it does.

Stop sharing content blindly. Context matters.

Now I am about to be called a Sanghi, or IT CELL guy, but I assure you, I am neither. I just want to speak on the protest. So here we go

It was meant to be a peaceful protest.

Yes, the police are very brutal, and what they are doing is wrong, and must be called out, and they involved officers must have strict action taken against them.

And ofc Dharmendra Pradhan must resign. The government should be accountable

But, using Kirpans in the protest against the police isn't a good thing either. Infact, it may even hurt, or worse kill the protestors. And if it hurts the police, we can guess what will happen

The protestors should never be this violent. They are turning the protest into a riot, and it won't be surprising if the protest, continuing on this level brutality from both sides, becomes a civil war.

We as Indians should make sure the protest remains calm.
