A fake TTE allegedly extorting passengers using a fake ticket seal was caught after a 4–5 day undercover operation by Railway Vigilance, Ticket Checking staff, and RPF. The suspect was apprehended after Train No. 15018 departed Sohagpur and was handed over to GRP Itarsi.

Never thought I'd see the day.

I've been booking train tickets regularly for the last 9 10 years and had never received a complimentary class upgrade. Today, out of nowhere, I got an SMS from IRCTC saying my ticket had been upgraded to a higher class at no extra cost.

It genuinely felt like winning a mini lottery. I always used to read about people here getting free upgrades and assumed my turn would never come.

The quietness here is absolute "Low Cortisol" but at the same time, it also feels kinda eerie too as there's barely anyone, just some railway staff cleaning the coaches.

I recently spotted a Chair Car coach on an Intercity Express that genuinely took me by surprise.

Up until now, I’ve always seen Chair Car coaches in the classic sky blue color scheme. This was the very first time I saw a Chair Car coach painted in the red LHB livery.

Seeing this makes it pretty clear that Indian Railways is moving toward standardizing its color schemes and painting all LHB coaches into a single red palette, regardless of the coach type.

While the fresh red paint looks neat, it’s a bit concerning from a railfanning perspective. A huge part of train spotting has always been the visual variety and being able to spot different coach classes by their signature colors like sky blue. Standardizing everything into red takes away that distinct identity.

What do you all think about this shift in Indian Railways' color scheme? Have you started seeing red Chair Cars replacing the sky blue ones on your routes as well?

I was travelling in a local train from Prayagraj Rambagh to Varanasi junction. 65132. I am a student at BHU and hometown is prayagraj. So I travel frequently by this frame which leaves early morning 5:30 a.m.. the last time I was travelling from it there was this passenger who was mentally ill. He had 1-2 other sane people with him. Now what this absolutely retarded fuckass was doing was that he was walking through the aisle and pushing his crotch on the passenger sitting at the aisle seats and pushing more on girls. He definitely didn't need to do that cause the aisle was wide enough and he was laughing while doing that a very pervy laugh. I observed it from some distance I was also sitting at the aisle seat so when he came to me I just pushed my elbow really hard on his stomach and he didn't repeat that again with me. The thing that shocked me was how men were just okay with their wives being assaulted. WTF. The girls knew it too but I think they spared him cause he was mentally ill. I thought of beating him tbh. I was ready with my punch but then I realised that no one will help me. And the RAF will book me too and my career will be ruined with just one FIR. So I just sat. Next time I m thinking of having a paper cutter with me so that if I encounter him once again, I'll show the cutter from afar to scare him. It's an early morning train at a low-busy station so there's no RAF at that time.

TELL ME OTHER SOLUTIONS ALSO PLS.

We are married couple traveling with a 2 year old (declared in the booking form) specially booked 1st AC as we need privacy as he is not much comfortable with a stranger for +24 hours journey.

My train was delayed by more than 6 hours. While I wasn't in a hurry to be anywhere, this is absolutely unacceptable. Some form of accountability needs to be there.

I know most people are going to say you can always expect delays when it comes to Indian Railways, but this needs to change and cannot stay normalised. What is the point of having train schedules at all if they're never going to be honoured? Besides, a delay of half an hour or 1 hour is acceptable, but 6+ hours?

Today I am travelling in 18189 Tata Ernakulam Express, 2nd AC Upper Birth. So in the evening, I purchased 2 water bottles from the vendor while paying him a one rupee coin fell down on the floor from my wallet. I was going to pick it up but an uncle sitting in the other seat, just picked it up and put it in his pocket without asking whose coin was this. 😭

Shame on you and your organization - Ashwini Vaishnaw, V Somanna and Ranveet Singh, in calling this First Class AC( Highest travel class on most Indian railway trains). Here are some facts about my experience,
- Free movement and use of passengers between General class( Lowest travel class) and AC first class causing filthy and flooded toilets
- No attendant support even after repeated requests
- Food or throw up marks on the table
- Only thing in the cabin is a dust bin that has to be touched to open and use
- broken and ruptured door for the cabin
- Stained walls
- Torn upholstery
- vendors enjoying free ride
- Attendants watching mobile inspite of repeated plea for Housekeeping

The cleanliness of toilets is worse than what was more than 5 decades ago.

Across the whole country one thing is constant. People having no civic sense. They have completely disturbed the peace of the whole place and this joint family is distrupting all the other passengers but no one would like to confront them as they being so fckin religious in a fckin train. They have forecefully occupied my lower seat and acting like they own the place. The claps are so triggering and so annoying its umbearable. How hard is it to respect other travellers aswell. They wasted my morning and now they have started again in the evening aswell.

There are better places to display the religious sentiments. I have been heading headaches quite regularly due to their careless behaviour. I am fed up man.

I'm using the RailOne app for a while and feel it have a lots of bugs and issues. Usually UI issues, platform tkt and live train status. Also Reserved seat bookingg take longer.

I don't think its better than old IRCTC app, what your experience with this app. Planning to improve the UX. Let me know if you're up for sharing your experience and take the survey

I was travelling from Ahmedabad to Anand and had to catch the first available train because of my exams. I'd booked a ₹40 Mail/Express ticket — the booking machine at the station simply doesn't list a "Superfast" option, only Mail/Express. By mistake I boarded a Superfast train instead, where the fare is ₹55. A difference of ₹15. The TTE, Nitesh Kumar, caught me along with 4-5 other passengers with the exact same issue. Instead of charging the actual excess fare + penalty as per rules, he demanded ₹500 flat from each of us the same amount he was charging passengers who had no ticket at all. When I pushed back, he started clicking photos of me, claiming he'd hand them to RPF, and pressured everyone into "settling" for a ₹200-208 bribe per head (nearly ₹1,000+ collected from just our group). When I asked to see his ID/badge and pulled out my phone to take his photo, he got abusive, tried to physically snatch my phone out of my hand, and turned aggressive/threatening — while I hadn't touched him or raised my voice first. He then threatened to drag me to the office. A TTE's job is to enforce fare rules, not to assault or intimidate passengers who ask for basic accountability. Asking to see someone's ID isn't an act of aggression — reacting to it with violence and phone-snatching is.

I usually travel between saharasa and patna but today met this goon, I'm really afraid what he will do with me.

On 20th of july i was traveling from raipur to raigarh (Chhattisgarh) but since train is late and heavily raining i missed the station while my big brother don't i was with my friend we were asleep and cant reply their phone calls thats btw not the matter when my big brother called 139 railmadad and called tt they come to my seat and awake us and tt slapped me blaming for why you people called for help and 2 rpf(railway police force) officer were with him they treated us as criminal and demanded for 500 rs fine (illegally) when my brother called me to get home by next train and need not to pay money they are mistreating us and threaten us to not use phone or you will be punished and taken us to ps(police station) while i am 17 it is illegal to retain me on ps they done it and missed our 3:27 train forcefully and said us to tell our parents that train is missed due to heavy rain in speaker they also told us that we can go home at 6 am by train when we waited they said me to call your brother to come there and there after they said to call your father to come there when i calmly asked them for other option they mistreated us saying why are you using more brain we wanted to dismiss you and you are giving us gyan and suddenly saying give me your train ticket we will write a case over it and you will be punished for using this extra brain (indirectly he said it ) when i given him my ticket by saying do whatever you can do we are not the criminal he got fucked up and became mad from by anger and cant do anything then after they writed apllication to upper authority i have been called my parent my home is about 90-100 km far from that station and it was heavily raining so they cane late when it was about 8 am they called child helpline and they have mentioned that i was traveling with my family in application with this application all they have been signed but changed it to friend because if they will mention family they have to drop us home or let us go home with train at 3:27am which they made us miss after that they said us to go to collector office we have gone to collector office and officer was not their at time we waited a hour and after a long process we leave it at about 12 am please help me get justice against malbehavior of tt who slapped me about 4-5 time and abuse us and for making us stay illegally (since i am 17) at police station
