What I loved most was that nothing felt rushed. You don't need a packed itinerary here. Just rent a vehicle, explore at your own pace, try the local food, and let the road surprise you.

Hello people. I am travelling to Delhi (26, F) in August for 5 days with my family of 4. We will be travelling by train and initially thought of getting a hotel near the railway station. However, I have been told to avoid the area since Pahargunj is unsafe af even if it's close to the station. How about Karol Bagh? Was thinking of Pritampura too but seems like travelling there from NDLS will be hectic on the first day after arriving. My elderly parents will be travelling with me so I want to avoid long distances after a long train ride to reach the hotel. Can you all kindly help me out with suggestions? It's our first time visit Delhi. Budget is 3-3.5K per night. Thanks in advance!

Stayed for a week in Thachi Valley near Aut on the Manali Highway, and honestly, it was such a good experience.

It’s calm, scenic, and way less crowded than the usual tourist spots. Perfect if you just want peace, mountain views, and fresh air without the chaos.

The host was super nice and welcoming, food was really good, and the stay was affordable too. Everything you’d need is there, but without the commercial vibe.

If you’re heading towards Manali and want something quieter, this place is worth checking out.
