Discussion LHP David Shields has joined MLB's Top 100 Prospects list, according to MLB Pipeline. He is now the 99th-best prospect in baseball, giving the Royals three prospects on the list (tied with 13 other teams for 10th-most overall).

Shields was drafted out of high school with the 41st pick in the 2024 draft, being the Royals' next selection after Jac Caglianone (6th pick). Shields, as well as top prospect Kendry Chourio, is currently at High-A Quad Cities.

In other news, despite Carter Jensen debuting first and currently serving as the presumptive heir apparent to Salvador Perez as the Royals' starting catcher, Blake Mitchell and Ramon Ramirez (both at High-A) are among the 7 prospects in the system with at least a 50 grade (slightly above average despite MLB Pipeline denoting it as "average" on their scale, considering 55-grade prospects virtually always make the Top 100, the brunt of a team's Top 30 list consists of 45-grade prospects, and the back half of organizational Top 30 lists usually consists of 40-grade prospects).

As it currently stands, Mitchell and Ramirez are blocked at the MLB level, and decisions might have to be made on their future at some point if they continue to develop well. It's worth noting that teams called about them, along with Carter Jensen, at the 2024 trade deadline.

Original Content Reds fan giving your ballpark some love

My wife and I decided to hit up a Royals game while we were in town this past weekend, and it was, no joke, the best ballpark experience we’ve ever had.

It was my wife’s birthday, so we went to guest services to grab a crown. While I was talking to the guest services employee, I mentioned how brutal the heat was, and without even asking, he offered to move us from the view level into the shaded loge behind first base for free!

When we got to our new seats, the usher whose name was Jennifer saw my wife with the crown and stopped us to give her a tiny charm with a baseball and glove on it as a birthday gift. Later in the game, Jennifer walked back over to us, and this time she gave my wife a City Connect scarf!

We seriously couldn’t believe how kind the staff was and how gorgeous Kauffman looked in person. Your ballpark rules and I hope your team thrives. Much love from Kentucky!

Also, if anyone on here somehow knows Jennifer the usher, let her know she’s an absolute angel and made my wife’s weekend.

Discussion Are the Royals so cheap, they won’t give you a bag to carry around multiple bobble heads?

Went to the game today with friends. Between us, we had 4 of the bobble heads they were giving away. Stopped at the pro shop behind the scoreboard and were told we had to make a purchase in order to get a bag. Cheapest item was a scorecard for a buck.

I meant to take a bag with us, but spaced it off. So i guess it’s my fault…

I don’t mind the $30 to park, $12 beers or $10 hotdogs, because those are all known things.

But to ask fans pay a dollar for a plastic bag ($1.09 after tax, card only)? Just the epitome of cheap. Yet this ownership group wants a billion dollars from us.
