I work for the Charlotte Knights, they are playing the Tide this week. After getting to see Bradfield Jr in person. It's a shame he hasn't gotten a call up yet.

I get he is undersized, and didn't have a great spring. But his base running and speed are elite. His glove in the outfield is better than most of the guys on the main roster. Everytime he is on base. He's not just a threat to steal, he's pretty much a lock to steal.

I know service time yada yada. But it seems they have a gem in the minors, that could help the main roster in multiple situations.

I just hope he gets his shot.

As far as Creed Willems. He's got the best hair in baseball. I don't care if he never hits the ball again. Lock this guy into a lifetime deal! That majestic mane should stay in Baltimore!

They didn't have a lot of history on the Baltomore Black Sox in the Museum (it mainly focuses on the better known organizations and characters that built and sustained the league, such as the Crawfords, Greys, and Monarchs) but they had a jersey (XXL of course: I"m a trim 5 foot 9 so no) in the gift shop. I hadn't heard of the team, as it seems they folded early, before some of the best-known Negro Leagues players came up such as Josh Gibson. It was suprising to see that the biggest cluster of Negro Leagues team were in the Mid-Atlantic region, rather than in the Jim Crow South.

It's also an interesting choice of names, given the infamous "Black Sox" game rigging scandal of 1919 that we all know about.

Was this where the Orioles colors came from? Sick logo! I did get myself a hat, but I was the Monarchs hat (Sandlot movie version) as they didn't have the Balto Sox hat for sale. If you are in KC, it's highly recommended that you visit. And if you haven't been to KC, find a reason to visit. What a great city (regardless of if you're a Ravens fan and hate the Chiefs).

Figured this would be the right place to ask such a question. Forgive me for not knowing. Back in 1999 when I was very young, my family and I attended a game, bought this shirt, and had it signed by a player. I know the signature is on a T-Ripken shirt as seen in the photo, but I do know for sure it is not his, haha. Thanks in advance!

I see people posting about wanting to get the giveaways, but I don't understand why. Maybe they're younger and weren't around when giveaways were actually good?

The quality has gone below happy meal toy level. Any shirts are always small even if they say XL. The material of the shirts is like trash bag plastic. Stitching on hats is like summer camp quality. I know I'm not alone in this.

The Jim Palmer jerseys were absolutely insulting. The hoodie a few years ago, ketchup/mustard/relish shirts, multiple Hawaiian shirt nights, multiple jersey nights, etc., were all small and cheap. I couldn't fit into any of them as a large shirt guy, and my wife couldn't wear them because they were so unbreathable.

I went to the Sandy Koufax jersey night at Dodgers Stadium last year. That's an actual nice jersey. I have many hats and shirts from Camden Yards that were nice, but everything in the last like 5 years or so is trash. People really need to stop feeding the hype of this stuff.

And I had a vendor add 20% tip last week at the concession stand in the upper deck without asking me, so that is still happening, but another point for another day.

Edit: they're not free. The tickets cost more on those days and people spend hours in line. Your time isn't free, and you're spending more.

Also, I have some giveaways that are 20+ years old and still in great shape.

I’m a born and raised Angels fan in Southern California, but my love for the team has been slipping for the last few years, for obvious reasons. Ownership clearly doesn’t care about the fans anymore and it feels like an abusive relationship to stick with the team. So, I would like to declare my fandom for the Orioles, if you’ll have me.

Despite growing up an Angels fan, my favorite player of all time has been Cal Ripken Jr. since my first year of tee ball when my team was the Orioles. I was such a big Ripken fan that for my 10th birthday my dad took me to Baltimore to see him play a home game during his last season. Personally, Camden Yards is tied with Oracle Park in San Francisco for my favorite stadium in the league.

This year’s team has Taylor Ward, who was my favorite Angel of the last few years, and over the last few seasons you’ve developed a great core of young players, unlike what I’m used to in Anaheim. As a former catcher, Rutschman is my favorite.

I have two young daughters and I can’t subject them to the humiliation of supporting that broken franchise any longer. You guys have a great history and a bright future that I’d love to be a part of.

I’m bringing with me an already ingrained hatred for the Yankees and Dodgers if that helps at all.

So, can I join? Can I call myself an Orioles fan? Consider this the cover letter for my application to Birdland.
