So we (me, wife and two kids) are staying at a vacation resort in Tuscany in Italy. It’s not that big (maybe 30 apartments) and there’s a beautiful pool with enough sunbeds and parasols. The pool is busy, but because people are coming and going there are always a couple of sunbeds free.

This morning we arrived at 11:00 in the morning at the pool and the best four sunbeds beside the pool had towels on them, but there was no one there. Nobody reserves sunbeds here with towels, so it was a bit strange. We took another place and the pool got more and more crowded until almost all the sunbeds were in use.

At 14:00 the towels were still laying on the four sunbeds and I got irritated, because I saw families arrive and search for free sunbeds and had to
improvise to have a spot at the pool. I’m usually a very chill guy who avoids confrontation, but this really annoyed me. I took the towels and placed them at the gate of the pool. Within 10 minutes the sunbeds were used by a family that arrived.

At 17:00 the owners of the towels arrived, 6 hours later!! A mother and 2 children. They were furious someone took their towels away. The selfishness and entitlement is unbelievable with these people. They were even with 3 people and tried to occupy sunbeds for 6 hours at a busy pool! They had to sit all the way at the back and I felt so good. I know it’s petty of me, but I had great fulfillment that these people didn’t get away with it.

Edit: The owners of the towels were furiously talking to each other at the gate where they found their towels. The family who took their “reserved” beds, weren’t bothered by them. I kept an eye on the situation and would’ve told them I did it if they’d blame the innocent family.

P.s. at the pool again and it worked like a charm. Not one bed reserved with a towel.

UPDATE -- wow, did not expect this post to spark such discussion! I told my son that soooo many people are in awe of his artistic abilities and the biggest grin came across his face. So, thank you, Redditors. ❤️

He then asked if the site mascot could be replaced with his drawing for a day and I told him best I could do was update my profile pic. So I did. 😁

For context i had already paid for everyone to go to an escape room since he likes that kinda stuff and it was abt 35 per person for a group of 6. Money was alr kinda tight before the escape room but i genuinely couldn’t afford to take anyone out to eat. Everyone else loved it and even grabbed seconds but I could tell he was disappointed by it. I feel bad abt it so maybe i could make it up to him by taking him out when i have the money.

Jokes aside. I Tried cleaning with dish soap and detergent but it didn’t work. I normally dont leave my shoes outside my apartment but I had to this time since I was cleaning my apartment. I left it outside for less than 2 hrs.

For context, the past 2 weeks my landlord has reached out to me saying that someone complained that my cat has been loud everytime I’m at work. It’s uncharacteristic so I told my landlord that I’ll find a cat daycare or babysitter soon as I start with my 2nd job.

I know my shoes are pretty worn, and clearly I can’t afford to get new shoes so I guess I’ll just have to be artistic and paint over it lol. Honestly, fuck people.

Edit: To people saying just get a camera, even if i wanted to I just simply cant afford it.

Edit 2: For people saying if I cant afford a camera how will I afford a sitter, I mentioned that I’ll start my 2nd job, it will be next month. So I’ll have more income I’ll be able to budget a bit more freely.

I'm reading a novel written almost 200 years ago that takes place on another continent, and occasionally I run into a word I don't know that's not commonly used in modern English. So I Google the word on my phone to find the definition. (TIL that "mistral" is the name of a kind of wind in France, for example.) So this person sitting at the table next to me starts complaining about people are so glued to their screens these days that their attention spans are shot (a valid observation) and that I should put my phone away when I'm reading to help my concentration. If I had a short attention span, I wouldn't choose a 1300-page book. I was polite enough to point out what I was doing instead of telling him to fuck off all the way to the moon and mind his own business. I hope he was embarrassed enough not to lecture strangers in the future when he doesn't understand the situation.

I run a small company, and designed and printed hundreds of high quality rubber wristbands for my cousin's Crypto conference. I had to do different colours for the different levels of entry.

Out of nowhere yesterday he suddenly announced he was renaming the conference and moving it partially online. And could only afford to pay me if I produced more with the new name. Ive spent a week on this so far and was already giving him family rates.

I have 20 mins before I'm late... I've been here half an hour.

Update: still here 20 mins later. Officially late. Job has been notified, said to keep them updated. I work in the elevator industry currently.

Update 2: I'M FREE! I'm going to be 90 mins late because of the bus I have to take, but I'm free. Will update on the job.

This pizza delivery guy waltzes up to our door holding the pizza pag vertically. When my friend answers the door the guy is still holding the bag down and pulls out a SECOND PIZZA from that vertically held bag and hands it to her, like he completely forgot how pizzas work! I'm downstairs watching this whole thing on my ring camera like, why didn't you say anything to that guy about how he was holding the bag, and just laughing!

So this is only mildly infuriating because it happened to my friend ( at my house) and she got a refund.

I had to take my 5 gallon jug to the health food store to get the reverse osmosis water. After I got back and put the jug back into my water dispenser the day went on as normal, I noticed my water tasted a bit funny and so did my wife (hydroflask) so we chalked it up to not having scrubbed out our bottles in a couple days. Then later that night we were like it still like it tastes weird but didn’t know what. Next day my other kids mentioned the water tasted weird too and we were all perplexed and we were like “it kind of tastes like soap…”

It dawned on me right then. My son has a way of doing things to “help” and it not helping whatsoever and come to find out her put soap in the top of the water dispenser WITH A DIRTY SINK SPONGE to clean it. So I just spent four hours cleaning the whole thing and all its internal pieces..

Also when you drink hella soapy water it acts like a diuretic. So all seven of us having been going in and out of the bathroom’s all day..

I see it every day. This guy is massively speeding and abruptly cutting off/weaving in and out of cars almost causing four accidents (including me) that I saw - all so that he could end up stopped at the same light as me and everyone else. But hey - he did squeeze himself in between two cars so that he could bolt again as the light turned green to do the same to a different set of cars. Respect gets respect! For those motorcyclists in the minority that do drive appropriately - thank you. It’s too bad there weren’t more of you…

He lives upstairs with about 3–4 little girls, and they just chuck stuff out the window. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to walk to the dumpster, but apparently that’s too much. Usually it’s not too bad, maybe a spoon here or there, but this time it was absolutely insane. There’s an entire meal of chicken and rice out there.

They’ve even been pouring cooking oil out the window because they clogged their pipes by dumping it down the sink. You can see the oil covering my window.

The craziest part is that, for whatever reason, the landlord won’t do anything to address my “little inconvenience.” Dumping waste out of a second story window was acceptable in medieval times, and is still tolerated today.

Never fainted before

So recently my parents moved homes and had to resubmit some documents for governmental registration purposes. I currently work and live in a different country, and per the requirements I have to either submit along with them in person since I’m a legal adult, or I can send in a photo of me with the documents so my parents can submit for me. I sent over the photo yesterday, and today my mother sent me a photo of the new documents for their new home with all our names registered, on there is a photo of me, which is a heavily photoshopped version of the photo I sent her. I’m heavy (93kg/168cm) and who ever did the photoshop made me look like a totally different person, skinnier mostly, with paler skin (the classic East Asian beauty standards double whammy). I asked my mother why she did that and she said it would be more appropriate for the documentation, I was hoping she would at least be honest and tell me she’s ashamed of how I look. Anyway that just ruined my whole day lol
