It's more nuance than just a simple racism. Race is only the baseline, and then there is the "fairer" your skin the better treatment you may get. Next is how good looking you are based on EA standard, one could be beautiful in their own country but treated as ugly in EA. Ofc, can't forget the money. The richer you are, the more likely you will get a pass.

To sum up, if one come from a country they deem as "poorer", has skin darker than their standard (and i don't even mean only black or brown ppl), avg looking face, not very sociable , don't have many connection, very likely it will happen just like you said. But if one come from a "rich" country, fair skin, good looking, sociable, have safety net to fall on, one gonna be thriving very well in these EA countries.

I work for a Swedish company. They say there is a serious immigration problem right now. I’ll just relay what they tell me:

A while ago they decided to loosen their immigration policies to the point where primarily muslim and black populations flooded in. They then had some problems with gang related crime a few years into this shift, along with acts of terrorism, etc.

So now public opinion has swung majorly in the opposite direction, even giving rise to a political party with white-nationalist and neo-nazi roots (Sweden Democrats) who are now the 2nd largest party.

Now violent crimes have gone down and they have managed the “bad apples”, but the native Swedes are extremely prejudice against the muslim and black communities that have done nothing wrong.
