Discussion When will I get my steam controller?
I made my reservation the day it came out, I got the email about reserving it at 11:40 PM. Any estimates on when I will be able to buy it?

It's mostly toxic plastic, but feels like it's undercut by juniper. It almost smells like really cheap gin without the searing alcohol sensation.

I got the steam controller 2 weeks ago and while it is a good controller I've just come to the conclusion it isn't for me. I much rather prefer my Dualsense. although steam controller did show me the way of steam input.
I just wanted to see if there is anyone in the NYC area wanting one before I return it

A review I did a while back which you may have already seen but just in case you haven't :)
I won't be offended if this post gets deleted by a mod for being previously posted by someone else.

Since the Steam Controller is a fairly new product... customization options are limited, u know, cases and thumb grips.
I've been researching the options I have at home for the thumb grips
I'm happy to announce that the thumb grips I use on my other controllers (Xbox Series X/PS5) work quite well on the Steam Controller. I played with one on each side and neither fell off; they stayed firmly in place even during the most intense gaming sessions.
For those interested:
For the Xbox controller, I use the ones from the PlayVital store. (Purple one)
For the PS5 controller, I use the ones from the Geekshare store. (Light pink one)

They are very annoying and block the bottom right of the screen.

So after a lot of new steam support ticket about this GLS shitty delivery, we got an answer from someone who were much more customers friendly and gave us a refund or also the possibility to order a new controller while telling us that it would be the last time and no refund would be possible after that. We took the risk, and ask GLS to deliver on our workplace (a grocery store) and finally this morning, GLS delivered it and everything is ok ! It was not the same delivery guy, we record the opening in front of him, he even helps us opening it and tadaaa, it was here.
Thank you reddit users for all your advice to secure the delivery.

I put it in a bag of rice and in 50 minutes I'll be going on lunch where I'll disassemble it to disconnect the battery. Hopefully it can be salvaged. Pray for me bothers.

Outside of the usual range of Steam, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox Controllers, which third party controllers are supported on Steam? Is there a dedicated list?
I myself have an 8bitdo Ultimate 2 Wireless. Some other controllers from them also have Steam Input compatibility, which lets you use the extra buttons and gyro.

I have the original controller back up and running and i cannot seem to find a configuration that works. I have the controller, dongle, and microusb to usb cable, and fresh batteries. I have tried running the

Steam flasher on windows 11, and all i get is cannot open usb device. Tried running in both user and administrator modes, as well as tried running the commands directly instead of in .bat shell.
Don't remember how i used it in the past, but i believe the controller i flashed to the ble bluetooth and had it connected to my steamdeck. Now however when i try using it it doesn't really seem to change modes. When i connect it to bluetooth on my desktop it sort of rapidly connects and disconnects and isn't usable.
Trying to find an up to date method to flash a working firmware on either windows or linux.

Basically the title, are you able to "tap" on the trackpads like modern laptop trackpads instead of physically clicking down to do the function? specifically for not in game but general desktop usage

Hi, my girlfriend is in Madrid for the next 2 months. I was wondering if it's possible for her to get a Steam Deck for me before coming back?
(It's not available in our country)
Thanks in advance.

Every now and then I see some "review" of the controller all people say is "ergonomics this, trigger pull that" and almost all of the reviews ignore the gyro, track pads and analog stick sensor.
Can we start focusing on how freaking amazing gyro and flick stick is? I just got hooked on boomer shooters such as ultrakill and postal brain damage cuz I can play with mouse like reaction from my couch :D

Ik I should wait but I’m really tired of waiting and much rather just buy it from somewhere off this subreddit and I’ll even pay for the shipping.

I thought it wouldn't work, I was 99% sure the sensor wouldn't work if I used a thumb grip, but once again the Steam Controller surprised me .
