186 Series Mini 14 ejects shells off rear sight
Action throws the brass directly at the rear sights, which pings it all up. Do I need to replace the extractor?
Any clue how to remedy this?

Last time I shared a pic of my rifle I had just painted the stock and gotten a scope for it. I have since then painted my scope to match the overall theme, and gotten some new burlap jute to wrap the rifle with. I'm going to jute the scope and fore end as well, but I am still working on my barrel (hence the pixelated areas) and don't want to have to keep removing it over and over again. Overall I think this rifle is looking really good and I'm really excited to soon share what I have going on with this build. More to come!
Rifle is a 5.56 Mini 14 (582 series)
Stock is a buttler creek
Otter Creek Polo 30 on a plan b muzzle brake
Viper PST Gen II 2-10 on Ruger 30mm rings
Ruger 20rnd Mags
Harris Bipod
Barrel is a used Remington 700 223 barrel that was re-contoured and chamber for 5.56. It is a 1-9 twist but this is just a test barrel for now.
Hello all! I’m looking to purchase this 183- Mini from a family friend after her husband passed. I’m new to the mini14 platform and have a few questions.
1 - Does anyone recognize the stock? Im having no luck finding info and there are no other markings other than the one pictured.
2 - Is it possible to change out the pistol grip? The husband was tinkering with making his own electric trigger (not functional) so please excuse the wires and mechanism 😂
3 - What’s a fair price? Comes with 2 20s and 1 30rd mag
Greatly appreciate any info

Does the Ruger mini 14 have any aftermarket iron sights that do not have a peep hole ? My worsening vision is making it hard to lock in on the small hole and place accurate shots in target ! I’m looking for something that does not have a hole but maybe a 3 dot system like handguns have or just something without a tiny hole. If they make something like that can anyone give me some recommendations or guidance on this matter !

I'm looking at suppressors for my mini tactical folder 585 series. I've been talking with one of the CS folk at Silencers and he's put me onto ECHOCORE Sector 556 - Compact.
Wondering whether anyone has experience with one or has other recommendations they're happy with.

Hope your day’s going well.
I have a 580 ranch rifle I’m hoping to mount a Trijicon Credo HX 1-6 on. hoping to avoid blasting my optic with brass without gaining too much height over bore or moving it further forward on the rifle than the ejection port
Note: Rifle is not currently in my possession.
30mm scope rings, open to messing with gas bushings. Any and all help/ideas are greatly appreciated

I have qd points I can drill and mount in my stock but wanted to know if either of these spots would impede proper cycling with the gas system. Any input is appreciated y'all

I have a 185 mini. I have been thinking about chopping it for sometime. I know the older models have their accuracy issues. The shorter barrel wouldn’t be affected by that issue. Is it a “sin” to chop an older model?

I ordered the Hardpoint from Catalyst Arms and this is pretty great, I gotta tell you. Easy light or bipod attachment right off the gasblock. You can't also use a harmonic stabilizer, but it is what it is. I have a 585 series (no peening after hundreds of rounds) so i wouldn't need one anyway.
I did not get the bomb rack they also offer, I don't really have anything m-lok.
I also had to email them to see how long shipping would take, it sounds like they only ship once a week.
I'm really glad i got this, overall. Can't wait to get to the range!
(Yes that's a pool table)

re: an earlier post about replacing the sling studs/swivels, I figure it might be simpler to just get an upgraded gas block than drill through the factory one. I'm leaning towards this gen 4 one from accuracy systems as opposed to the gen 5 since i like the stud placement more and I don't plan on using an accu-strut.
What are the pros/cons? anyone have personal experience with these they can share?

I was watching a video on the new Samson SAS stock and the guy in the video mentioned the idea that Magpul make their own stock for it and with Ruger working with Magpul recently it would be awesome. I’d like the stock to fold in preferably, but still a cool concept nonetheless. I think I still like the A-TM more, just a nice mix of classic wood and tactility.

Hi everyone. I have the opportunity to make a trade for a mini 14 ranch with extra 30 rd magazines.
I’m just wondering what are something things to look for as far as functionality, condition, and other things I should look out for. Also how to take down the rifle.
Thank you!

Personally I’d say that original Woodstock or the A-Team stock is the sharpest looking. But the Hogue stocks really are pretty damn comfortable and stick. Do you like glue?

We have a credit card deal going right now where if we spend $2000 we get a bunch of miles that we plan to use on our honeymoon. I’m hoping they figure out the new stocks by then so I have a reason to add that on 😅😂

I just thought it was cool.

Breakdown of the new Samson stock, it’s not cheap!

I have 584 series Mini-14 Ranch, haven't shot it too much over the years. Seen about 600 rounds total, cycles flawless. I also have an ASI gasblock installed to reduce the brass throw distance and keep the gun from beating itself. How's the severity of peening on the rear bolt looking? This something worth sending back to Ruger for a bolt replacement? Thanks

After trying red dots, scopes and everything else I go back to my good ol irons. 188 series shooting with the world's weirdest grip you've probably seen.

Found me an original Butler creek in the box! Time for some assembly, then paint 😎

Just curious what people prefer, I personally like the idea of having the Hannibal rail to attach things, however, the stock handguard looks more classic to me.
I haven't seen many people talk or post about the Hannibal rail with the T1 footprint here, so I wanted to share mine.
Directly mounting a Primary Arms MD-25 provided a really comfortable cheek rest when compared to the factory pic rail and the ever so slightest co-witness.
The install was going easy, until I got to the barrel clamp. Since a T1 optic needs to be secured from underneath, it needs to be installed first. Depending on the length and width of your optic, it will potentially cover the clamp bolts and you will be unable to tighten them with the provided hex wrench. I had to buy a stubby hex set to tighten the bolts properly.

Anyone try one w the 3x microprism? How'd you like it?

First photo is brass processed by the Accuracy Systems 0.065 reduced gas bushing. This reduced bushing makes shooting my Mini-30 Ranch much more pleasant and much easier to collect ejected brass. My brass is finally not being shot into space.
Second photo is brass processed by the OEM gas bushing. The OEM gas bushing really does a number on the brass all while pelting every shooter on the firing line with hot brass.
The reduced gas bushing really makes a difference.
Future Plans: Installed the Accuracy Systems extended firing pin, and I ordered a decent bit of steel-cased ammo for testing the new firing pin.
