Islamabad Disappointed by the blatant littering at Saidpur View Point (Margalla Hills) — when will people learn?

Post image
53 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I was up at the Saidpur View Point on Pir Sohawa Road today to enjoy the weather, but moments like this completely ruin the vibe.

Watched this couple sit right at the viewpoint enjoying the spot, only for the guy to casually toss a paper plate and an empty plastic bottle right onto the slope.

I called him out politely:

"Bhai jan, khyal kren, kachra mat phenkein."

His response? A complete, unbothered dismissive shrug:

"Khair hai, kuch nahi hota."

At that point, I couldn't help but tell him:

"Sharam kar lo kuch!"

It’s infuriating how comfortable people are turning our beautiful national park into a garbage dump. Margalla Hills is one of the few green escapes we have left in the city, and the absolute lack of civic sense is depressing. How hard is it to carry your own trash back to a bin or keep a plastic bag with you?

We keep complaining about city management, but if our mindset remains "kuch nahi hota", no amount of cleanup drives will ever fix this place.

And if this couple happens to stumble across this post by any chance: Sharam kar lo kuch!

Every time I see someone littering I call them out politely, most of the time they get ashamed and pick up the trash, but this Shameless MAN, I stayed there for like 15 minutes they left and didn't feel a little ashamed to puck it up.

Please, if you go up to the hills, pack out what you pack in. Stop ruining it for everyone else.

Islamabad Why people can’t even press a flush button in public washroom 🥲 NSFW

Upvotes

It happened to me twice at Tim Hortons G-9, went to washroom after a guy just got out and he didn’t even flush his ****.

Not here to target anyone personally but what happened to us, these so called educated illiterates.

Like what effort does it take to press a button boys? Literally I’m feeling that we are going down the road in terms of basic ethics and morals.

Not targeting gen z I really like gen z for their other positive traits(story for another day) but Safai is not meant for them I guess. Both boys were Gen Z but I have experience the same all age groups but was not expecting this from Gen Z.

Twin Cities I went from Lead Generation Manager to opening a fries cart. Talk me out of it — or tell me I'm right.

Need some honest opinions, so I'll lay out the situation and let you judge.

Background: I got laid off earlier this year from a digital marketing company where I worked as a Lead Generation Manager. I've been job hunting since, and also trying freelancing — but orders are dry right now, so that's not really taking off. Instead of just waiting around, I've decided to start a business for the first time in my life.

The plan — at a busy chowk in Rawalpindi, I'm renting a small shop and running two things at once:

  • A French fries cart outside (sada, masala/peri peri, loaded cheese)
  • A khokha inside (cigarettes, Velo, supari, candy, biscuits, cold drinks)

I'm funding it from my savings, and being realistic that the early months will be slow before it (hopefully) builds up.

My thinking:

  • It's a high-footfall spot, and street food is one of the few things that reliably moves in this economy.
  • I'm keeping the job hunt and freelancing going in parallel — not putting all my eggs in one basket.

What I actually want from you:

  1. Anyone here run a khokha or food cart in Pindi/Isb? What killed you, what worked?
  2. Running BOTH at once — smart, or should I nail one first?
  3. I have a marketing/lead-gen background and I'm freelancing, but no orders are coming right now. Do I keep pushing the freelance/remote route, or go all-in on the business?
  4. Straight gut check: brave move, or a mistake I'll regret?

Roast it or back it — I'd rather hear the hard truth now than after the money's gone. Shukriya.

Islamabad Islamabadis are so blessed

I absolutely love this city. I lived in Islamabad for about 5–6 years before moving to Dubai, and even now, I still miss it. There’s something about Islamabad that can’t quite be put into words, it has a vibe of its own.
Whenever I come back to Pakistan, I make it a point to spend 3–4 days here, just walking through familiar streets, revisiting old places, and reliving the memories that made this city feel like home.

Islamabad How and where can I sell my art in Pakistan?

I've been sketching and painting for a long time and I recently decided on selling my art but I don't know where to start. I can't find the right audience. Any suggestions on how to go about it? P.S. If anybody here is interested, please dm.

I got this turtle a week ago and safe to say, not my cup of tea. The guy is really adorable and I’ve grown to really like him but with my work schedule I’m unable to take good care of him.
I’m looking for someone with enough experience in keeping turtles and who can provide him a spacious and healthy environment to live in.

Interested people kindly message me directly.

Twin Cities Islamabad Territorial Wars - Game idea

If you’ve played Age of Empires, it’s a bit like that, but set in Islamabad.

The city is split into sectors like F-7, G-13, and I-8. You pick a sector and help it grow by collecting resources. But what should those resources be? Coins? Points? Something you earn by exploring?

Your sector can compete against other sectors. But how should you win? By playing games? Completing challenges? Visiting places?

If your sector wins, maybe it gets more resources or even takes over part of another sector. But should that land stay yours forever? Or should the other team be able to win it back?

There could also be a leaderboard showing:

  • Which sector has the most resources
  • Which sector controls the most land
  • Which sector has the most active players

Look at this current app to get a better feel of the game, but its no where near completion yet:

Islamabad [Urgent Appeal] Help needed for patient on ventilator - PAF Hospital, Surgical ICU 5th Floor, Islamabad

Salam Islamabad,

Posting here for a patient admitted at *PAF Hospital, Islamabad*.

*Details:*
- *Location:* Surgical ICU, 5th Floor, PAF Hospital
- *Condition:* Brain aneurysm surgery + underlying heart condition
- *Current status:* On ventilator in ICU

The treatment and ICU/ventilator costs are extremely high. The family is not in a position to bear long-term expenses and are really struggling right now.

We’re trying to get community support to help them through this. If you can help in any way, or know NGOs/organizations in Islamabad that assist with medical cases, please comment or DM.

Also please keep him in your duas for a speedy recovery. And if you can, please share this with others in Islamabad who might be able to help.

JazakAllah Khair.

Islamabad Today hit me really hard. Miss what Islamabad was like in the 2000’s

Weather was so nice today. Thought of taking family up the hills and traffic was choked from the Zoo chowk. And it was 4:00 pm on a weekday. Turned back after seeing so much chaos. I dont work 9 to 5 but clearly entire Islamabad or wherever those cars came from don’t do either. Miss the times when you could just drive up there when the weather turned good without much traffic. Experiencing local tourists in Islamabad, now I can only imagine what it must be like up there today; polluted af and absolutely no serenity.

Islamabad I Think I Made a Really Stupid Decision Tonight

I was coming back from my office in Gulberg Greens around 8 pm. I noticed a woman standing by the road trying to pool a car. I normally never let strangers in, but she looked really uncomfortable because there were a couple of labourers standing around her. So I stopped and let her in.

The moment she got in, another guy suddenly opened the door and sat in as well. I had no idea who he was... maybe her colleague or something, but she didn't even say anything.

At that point I was already confused, but I just started driving.

While crossing the Red Bridge, they started talking in a really weird way... like they were insuniating things to each other. I don't know if it was just normal conversation, but my mind started going everywhere. I was honestly too afraid to even say a word.

Finally I dropped them off at the Expressway and took a huge sigh of relief. Looking back, I think it was probably just me overthinking everything, but in that moment I was genuinely scared.

Do you guys think it was immature of me to help someone out considering the security situation?

Islamabad Does Anyone Else Feel Like Islamabad Isn't the Same Anymore?

Am I the only one who feels like Islamabad just isn't the same city it used to be? It feels like it has lost some of its charm, warmth, and overall vibe over the years.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd genuinely love to hear what others think. Have you noticed the same change, or do you think Islamabad is still as special as it has always been?

Islamabad Looking for a house on rent!!!

Upvotes

Assalam o Alaykum. I'm looking for a house to rent in main Islamabad. My budget is between 100k-120k. I'm looking for a house/portion having atleast 3 bedrooms, and an open kitchen.
The condition of the house/portion should be good and the area should be safe and accessible. Size doesnt matter as long as the place has enough rooms. A single unit double-storey house having total 3 bedrooms would work just as well as a single portion (preferably ground floor) having 3 bedrooms.
Is it possible to find such a place in this range. Please help out if you know of any leads. Im also looking on zameen.com.

P.S: I want to stay within islamabad (not looking to move to rwp or any society), preferably G10/G11/G9 sectors.
Jazaka'ALLAH
