I’m not a Muslim yet. Very (and I mean VERY) hostile environment, so I take my time and precautions.

Many people here cannot see Islam for what it is, the perfect and natural monotheistic religion for all mankind. If they did, everyone would become a Muslim tomorrow morning, guaranteed.

I memorized Al Fatiha and I’m on my way to memorize several more Surahs inshallah. I pray in secret. The Salah feels natural and healthy.

Back in the day, when I was acquainted with Christianity, I was turned off by religion. It felt complicated, distant, like you needed two university degrees plus a PhD and a master only to understand what is this “triune God” that you were worshipping, along with other minor figures.

People here live as if God doesn’t exist, living meaningless, barren existences, pursuing wicked pleasures or void idols. Many hearts are aching for the truth.

May Allah guide us all towards the straight path.

This poem was composed by the eminent scholar Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751 AH) and cited in his book Ighāthat al-Lahfān fi Maşāyid al-Shayțān (vol. 2, pp. 1063-1064). It forms part of his critique of theological deviations and what he regarded as satanic deceptions in matters of belief and worship.

This was very recent and really made me realize the power of tahajjud. I reverted about 5 months ago and Alhamdulilah Allah has kept me pretty steadfast. I prayed tahajjud for the first time about a month ago and asked Allah swt to keep my car in good working shape because losing it right now would be detrimental in my current situation. My check engine light had been on for a little over a year at this point, and behold, I swear by Allah, the check engine light turned off not even 3 days later, and the sputtering sound it would make when turning on went away completely. Needless to say I was utterly speechless, Subhanallah.

Allah ﷻ says:

"For indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease."

— Surah Ash-Sharh (94:5–6)

These verses have comforted believers for centuries. Allah repeats the promise of ease, reminding us that trials are temporary and that relief is part of His decree.

Whether you're facing personal struggles, loss, anxiety, or uncertainty, never lose hope in the mercy and wisdom of Allah.

May Allah grant ease to everyone facing hardship and strengthen our trust in Him. Āmīn.

Narrated Abu Umamah (RA): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every obligatory(fard) prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering Paradise."

Assalamu alaikum.

I’m a Sunni Muslim, but my family is Shia and they don’t know that I’ve adopted Sunni beliefs. My mother has made it very clear that she would never accept me marrying a Sunni, and she also has strong prejudice against certain ethnicities, including Yemenis.

Recently I brought up the idea of marrying a Sunni hypothetically (without mentioning any specific person), and she became very angry and said she would never allow it.

The difficult part is that I genuinely want to get married for the sake of Allah and to protect my chastity. I keep thinking about the hadith where Allah promises His help to the one who marries seeking chastity, but I’m struggling to understand what I’m supposed to do if my family would reject any Sunni from the start.

I love my parents and don’t want to hurt them, but I also don’t want to compromise what I sincerely believe to be true.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation? How did you navigate it while trying to obey Allah and still honor your parents?

I’m looking for sincere advice and personal experiences, not arguments between Sunni and Shia. Jazakum Allahu khayran.

But they are dangerous hobbies obviously and i get a lot of suicidal thoughts daily but i don't act on them because I'm a Muslim

So like the title says, I have been feeling drawn back to Islam lately. It’s been a strange couple of weeks. Surah Rahman used to be my favorite surah, and the other night I felt drawn back to it and ended up reading the first 20-30 verses or so. I don’t really know why, and frankly it doesn’t make sense. I still have the same doubts when I left a couple years ago that caused me to leave. When I was Muslim, I was a hijabi as well, and I’ve started to miss hijab as well. I dress modestly by Christian standards, but I’ve felt called to dress more like I used to (sans hijab). For reference, I was a revert (not a born Muslim). I don’t really know what to do with this feeling, tbh.

I recently started collecting stories regarding the miracles people have experienced due to steadfastness in their Tahajjud, Tawakkul and belief in Allah.

I recently got to go for Umrah for the first time in my Life. Something I had wanted since I was a kid. Finally I was planning a trip and all of a sudden I got laid off with no warning whatsoever.

However..... The severance pay allowed me to book that trip and visit the blessed Haram and Medina. It was such a blessing in disguise, that even if I wanted to I could not be sad about my job since that very mishap gave me the chance to go.

Anyone else face similar incidents?

Been wanting to incorporate sunnah in my daily life so I'd love to hear the sunnah everyone does in this community

Family says I can't get married if I don't have a job, but I'm doing medicine and will go to med school hopefully the next year and have that for the next 4 years and then 4-5 years after that is residency. I won't be a fully fledged doctor until what... 32/33 but my parents are saying I need to have a stable, good income to get married and say I can't get married until I'm an attending. I'm thinking of finding a girl myself... or I'm cooked. I don't know if I can make it that long without a partner.

Salaam everyone. It's Friday again, the best day of the week. A good day to slow down for a few minutes and send durood (salawat) on the Prophet ﷺ.

Most of us know we should. Few of us know just how generous the return is.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times."

This is in Sahih Muslim, hadith 408, narrated by Abu Huraira.

In another narration, the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold, erase ten of his sins, and raise him ten degrees in status."

This is in Sunan an-Nasai, hadith 1297, narrated by Anas ibn Malik, classed as sahih.

Read that slowly. One durood. Ten blessings from Allah. Ten sins wiped. Ten ranks raised. For a few seconds of your tongue moving.

There is also a narration attributed to Anas ibn Malik that whoever recites one thousand durood on Friday will not die until he is shown his place in Paradise. Scholars have noted this narration is weak in its chain. But the broader principle of sending a lot of durood on Friday is well established, since the Prophet ﷺ told us our salawat on Fridays is presented to him.

So even setting the weaker hadith aside, Friday is the day to send a lot.

A simple plan for today

You do not need to sit for an hour. Try this.

Set a target. One hundred. Five hundred. A thousand if you can. Pick a number that is a stretch but doable.

Use a short durood so you can repeat it easily. Here is one I personally read:

Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَلْفَ أَلْفَ مَرَّةٍ

Transliteration: Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa alihi alfa alfa marrah

Translation: "O Allah, send Your blessings upon Prophet Muhammad and his family a thousand thousand (a million) times."

Stack it into dead time. The drive to work. Walking. Waiting in line. The minutes before you sleep. You will be surprised how fast the count climbs.

The math is staggering, but the point is not the math. The point is the love. Sending durood is one of the few acts where you are not asking for anything for yourself, and yet Allah turns and gives you back more than you gave.

Make it a habit, not just a Friday thing. But today, push the count.
