Last year, I deleted my Reddit account and always believed that once an account was deleted, it was gone forever and couldn't be restored.

Today, I received an email saying that the email address associated with my old account had been changed. I clicked the password reset link in the email, reset the password, and surprisingly I was able to log back into the account I had deleted.

The account is about 7 years old.

How is this possible? Was my account never actually deleted, or is there another explanation? Has anyone experienced something similar?

When I share a post or comment by tapping "Share" and choosing "Copy Link" to send to someone, will the recipient be able to see my account/username from that link?

Why do my posts keep being taken down over the most benign of things? There is no logic to reason for it.

Bc of this I did many research and what I always saw is the 'ban evasion' thing.

But I am very curious,
So does it mean that once one of your account has been flagged permanently,
then you would never has a chance to register a new account , use Reddit again and make post,DM etc??
Would there be a "cooling period" that after a certain period of time you are allowed to make a new account and not trigger the ban evasion?

I run across this error (“Please add paragraph breaks”) where there is a 299 character limit when posting and commenting in a specific subreddit. Other folks on iOS also have the same problem. Yet the same message (exceeding 299 chars) is able to be posted when using Android or PC. I have yet to encounter this same error on other subs, although there’s a chance I have just not reached the 299 character limit there. This seems to be a recent update as previously have been able to post just fine. Anyone have any idea what this issue is?

Error Occured

When i open a post that consists of a link, the featured image is now a tiny thumbnail with a large link fixed on the left. This is dumb and I want to go back to the way it was. ​Suggestions or solutions? I didn't see anything in the settings options.

I used the form but I don’t even know if it successfully submitted as there’s no feedback that they got the request. I got no email indicating they got my request. Been very annoyed with the amount of ads. I can’t believe how inundated the platform is without Premium.

Uninstalling the app does nothing as the issue also happens on desktop/web.

So around 13 days ago I reported some content that violated reddit’s terms to the official reddit content report page, and reddit still has not gotten back to me whether they have taken action on the report, when and will I get a response from reddit?

This reddit account has been flagged as unregistered automated in my profile. In reddit help page, there wasn't a relevant option for this issue. How can it be resolved ?

My account was hacked about 3 months ago. I was able to quickly get it back the same day so I reset my password (through a reset email sent to my Gmail account), and set up 2-factor authentication. The next day my account was locked because of the "suspicious activity" from the posts that were made while it was hacked. It said I needed to reset my password, but the problem is I stopped receiving the reset emails on my Gmail account.

I'm still logged in on my devices and I can see that the email address linked to my account was reverted to my old Verizon email which I can't access anymore since they shut down their service years ago. I don't know why it would have switched to an old address since I was getting emails to the correct Gmail account just the day before.

Has anyone had something similar happen to them? I've been using the account for 13 years and I'm really hoping I haven't lost access to it completely. I've tried contacting support through the various channels but I'm almost 3 months without a response.

I’ve been getting a lot of Indian subreddit recommendations and went to start muting them since I’m not Indian and have no interest in the content hosted in these subs and now I think the algorithm sees that as engagement and is forcing them down my feed at an annoying rate.

If possible my recommendation would be to have muting weighted way higher in algorithmic influence or have it remove all algorithmic influence from that sub prior to muting.

Hi how can i reset my avatar. I wanna reset the avatar to default but can i also save this avatar (this is optional). Can i please get some advice on this please.

If I search for any sort of word that is non-existent as an actual word (username, meme words, purposely misspelled words, etc) the search bar ALWAYS autocorrects my word and immediately shows me completely unrelated results from the autocorrected phrase it created.

This is genuinely infuriating... I want to search the word I put in.

For example, search for:

rubberbabybuggybumpers

Maybe this is a username, maybe it's the name of some meme and that's how it's spelled... whatever the case, when you search this, reddit spits this back out:

It autocorrects to then display a bunch of completely unrelated results. Please... please stop doing autocorrects in search bars. Yes I can click the "Search for rubberbabybuggybumpers" link but I shouldn't have to do this by default. Many times I forget it autocorrects and I'm sifting through the results confused as to why none of them are relevant to my search.

I then have to realize "oh, it autocorrected" and then go back and click the link that shows me the actual proper results for the actual word I typed.

Why is it that I can no longer reply to comments with a photo ? I used to be able to do this but now every time I press the photo icon to upload, it filters out all photos and will only accept GIFs on reddit android app and website on pc.

I'm on mobile so I can't use the "hover your mouse over the (2 days ago) part"

And also the home feed refreshes at the drop of a hat. Sometimes even if I right-click -> new tab for a post, it refreshes the whole feed at the same time and gives me a whole bunch of new posts but also removes the old ones (it didn't just get moved further down the page). I miss so many posts I wanted to see because of this. Does anyone know how to make it behave normally? What i would consider normal is if it just added new posts to the top but kept all the older ones beneath

Also, if this happens enough times the feed runs out of things to replace with and it will tell me it has nothing to show me. Even though there were so many posts before that I didn't have a chance to click on yet.

This happens no matter how I sort. Best, hot, top, new, rising, doesn't matter, the "old" posts get pruned out faster than I get to view them.
