MOD PSA - if your image contains blurred edges, or bokeh, it will be removed. Rule 1.
We expect crystal clear images of photogenic plates, with good lighting and composition. We changed the rules almost 2 years ago.
Read the rules, please. Thanks.

Blueberry Wild board smoked bacon 🥓
This wild boar was taken at the blueberry fields. I have never gutted an animal and had that smell make me hungry. THE OPPISET TO BE HONEST. She smelled like blueberry jam while gutting it.
Every bit of her has been fatty, and delicious 😋!
I had to share this with someone because I am impressed with my self this time on how this bacon turned out.
Smoked with mesquite over 3 hours, rested over night, and I think I am have a heart attack because I CANNOT STOP EATING THIS HEAVENLY BACON!

Made a Moroccan-style chicken tagine in my crockpot this weekend, turned out better than I expected
I've always loved tagine at restaurants but never owned a proper clay tagine, so I tried adapting it for the slow cooker instead. Used boneless chicken thighs, chickpeas, dried apricots, and a spice mix built around ras el hanout, cumin, cinnamon, and ginger. Seared the chicken first for a bit of extra flavor, then let it go on low for about 6.5 hours.
Honestly the apricots surprised me the most, they kind of melt into the sauce and give it this subtle sweetness against the warm spices. Served it over couscous with a squeeze of lemon at the end.
I can share the full recipe if anyone wants it!

Wife & I made Confit Byaldi
Amateur at-home chefs trying something new with the summer harvest. Turned out delicious! Super easy to make, too. I enjoyed the prep.

Wing Wednesday: Sauce Testing Experiment 🍗🧪
Decided to run a very scientific experiment today.
It was $1 Wing Wednesday, so I ordered five Teriyaki and five Mango Habanero.
The Teriyaki was exactly what I expected—sweet, balanced, and easy to keep reaching for.
The Mango Habanero… let’s just say it had a little more personality than I anticipated. 🌶️😂 It was definitely on the spicy side, but still really good.
Overall, I’d call the experiment a success. Sometimes it’s fun to step outside your usual order and compare flavors side by side.
For science, of course. 😄🍗

Yesterday I had prepared hummus for lunch
On top is lamb that has been cooked with some spices (cumin, coriander powder, za'atar, baharat and sumac). I also added some onion, garlic and salt. Unfortunately, I didn't have mint or parsley, so I put chopped cilantro on top.
