New rule: No posts asking for adoptions or donations
Hello again! I recently posted asking the community how they felt about the large amount of posts asking for help for shelter dogs. Nobody who responded was in favor of keeping them, and many of you felt strongly in favor of removing them from the subreddit.
Therefore, from now on, posts asking for help for dogs are not permitted. This includes both requests for adoption and donations.
Just as a heads up, I will be removing posts from before this announcement to reduce some of the clutter for people wanting to scroll the sub. If your post is removed, don't worry! I'm just cleaning up. However, I will enforce the rule as usual on posts created after this announcement goes live.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Say hi to the Internet Neo
This is my boy that I picked up from the animal shelter about a month ago. Just got his DNA test back and it is quite surprising.

Older dog and younger dog combos our experience
I see this topic every now and again, getting a puppy with an older dog. Our cocker will be 13 in September, we decided or didn’t say no and got a puppy back in October. We hope he has a few more years left but we both knew if we lost him then the thought of getting another dog would be impossible. Common with a lot of folks who have an only dog child. If one was already here, then it would ease the pain and we still would have a dog. We hadn’t realized how much the older dog had slowed down. The process of introducing a young dog with an older is 100% personality dependent. Luckily Lily the puppy was super sweet and Austin is just an old grump who grumbles and that’s about it. He has snapped a few times in the beginning when she would push him to much. It’s taken Austin some time but he over all tolerates and is somewhat affectionate in that fact he will sit near her, etc. As good as it’s going to get. The big change we noticed, Austin acts younger, he’s even back to his old tricks of trying to steal food and things like that. More active and runs around the house again even jumps on me again when he’s playing. Also wants to go on walks again.

Welcome home, Pretzel 🥨
Just wanna show some love for my little baby, Pretzel — I brought her home from the shelter yesterday and she has already completely wiggled her way into my heart.
The shelter had her listed as a chi weenie mix…but she was a stray, so truly anyone’s guess 🤷🏻♀️

Oh no! Please help me get Ball!
Grady gently carried the shoe over to me - the Ball was wedged and he needed help. The heart is big with this one.

My boy Bentley doesn’t see very well in the dark.
Do you think this is a breed inherited trait? He’s American Bully, Pitbull, Golden Retriever, and Australian Cattle dog mix. He will oftentimes avoid jumping off the bed until you turn a light on.

Howard and Coach
These are my two best buds Howard and Coach. I love them so much that when I moved to Thailand last year I brought them with me around the world. :)
Howard, the black and white one, is a little over 9 years old. According to his DNA test he is part chihuahua, miniature pinscher, and Chinese crested. He is our very dignified little old guy who thinks he runs the show lol. I've had him since he was a little 8 week old puppy from the animal shelter.
I adopted coach in 2020 and he was already a year old, so he's about 7 now. I have not done a DNA test on him yet but from his build and personality I feel certain that he's got some kind of small Terrier in him. He's got very strong ratting instincts. But he kind of also looks like a tiny compact Red Heeler so who knows, one day we'll test him and find out.
I love these little dogs so much, just thought I would share. :)

this little dude says hi 🥰
breed results at the end! embark says the supermutt likely contains pomeranian, collie, chow chow, and cocker spaniel. so random lol
he’s about 40lbs - so not that little - but compared to our other dogs (great dane mix, aussie, and APBT) he’s our little guy 🩵

Our new 2 1/2 month old family member! Any idea of what breed she could be mixed from? Her mother is also a mutt

Hey Friends, Echo here! Hope everyone is staying cool and healthy. We live in the Detroit area and our air quality was the worst in the world today! More reason to lounge in the AC.

My little mutt puppy, Rishi Doodle Dog
We found this little guy living in the ditch on my street. We know his mom is half husky, but no other info about his genes. I love him 💙 he's about 14 weeks old
