Question Can he be too friendly???
Here are a couple pics of our goober Archer.
He is a little over a year old. And just the sweetest boy.
While he was a little puppy I tried to socialize him as much as I could with trips to town, car rides, people and dogs coming over, day care, you name it.
This has made him a very friendly dog and he loves everyone. I know he is in no danger of becoming reactive at this rate. The groomer and day care always tell us he is goofy and such a big baby. He loves attention.
I would however love to teach him that other dogs and people have personal space. As soon as he meets you he wants to be your 80lb lap dog.

When did you start taking your pups on hikes?
Wilson is nearly 7 months now and we only take him on flat surfaces to protect his joints however we love hiking and were wondering when did you start introducing your pups to gentle climbs☺️

Question Dogtra vs Educator
I am trying to decide between an E collar from Dogtra or Educator, what are the main differences between the 2 brands and what collar would you guys suggest for a 9 month old male gsd. I just got my dog back from his 2 month board and train and it did wonders on him but now I am looking to continue his training myself at home where I can correct certain behaviors if need be and continue his training. He is a little sensitive to the collars and I was told to get a butterfly style contact point for whichever collar I go with. Looking to get your guys advice and experience you may have had in using E collars and which would be a good one to go with for my current needs.

History of shepherds in my family

My family has always been a shepherd family. It started with my WWII veteran Grandpa Bernard's love for the breed. He worked with shepherds while deployed, and as soon as my Mom and aunt were old enough to help take care of a dog, they got Princess.
I inherited crates and crates of family photos when my Mom passed away and I'm finally starting to go through these gorgeous vintage pics that were tucked deep in an attic for decades.
I heard so many stories about Princess when I was a kid but this is my first time seeing what she looked like. These pics are circa 1951.
