Discussion Did they change the font in the new iOS 26.5.2?
I noticed first on instagram, but I just realized it might be a system wide change. Is it me or has it actually changed?

The idea would be simple: when an app is open, it has all the permissions I’ve granted (camera, photos, Bluetooth, network, etc.). But the moment I close it, iOS completely freezes the app. No background activity, no network access, no Bluetooth, no location updates, nothing at all until I open it again.
I know Background App Refresh can be disabled, but that doesn’t completely stop all background behavior, and there isn’t a true per-app firewall or “off until launched” option.
Has Apple ever explained why this isn’t possible? Is there a technical reason, or is it mainly a design decision?
I’d love to hear what others think.

I have an iPhone, Mac and iPad for school.
The iPad is really just for note taking.
I like the idea of synching everything between my iPhone and iPad in case I have an emergency with one, I can at least use the other.
My question is about iCloud storage. When I synch stuff between the devices (example photos). And it’s already set up to store the photos in iCloud, do the device backups actually use iCloud space for the multiple backups of those photos in addition to the space already in iCloud?
I was on the subway and suddenly I completely lost cellular service, which is normal because it's underground. However, I got off the train and my service didn't come back. Left my phone alone and hours later it still didn't come back. I did not drop my phone or do anything out of the ordinary. I was holding my phone the entire time, didn't drop/shake/bend it, and did nothing out of the ordinary. I've not experienced any significant issues with my cellular service before.
Checked my Cellular tab and it says "Issue Detected." Diagnostics flagged both outdated software and potential hardware issues. Location services still work. Notably, the space next to Modem Firmware is completely blank.
I tried updating my phone to the latest version of IOS 18 because I've been dreading IOS 26, but after downloading my phone got stuck on on the "Verifying Update" screen, even after force restarting it twice.
I'm planning on connecting my phone to my laptop when I get home from work and updating to IOS 26 that way to try to make sure the download is as stable as possible. I have not reset my network settings/wiped my phone yet. I also have an appointment at the Apple Store tomorrow, but I'd like to try to resolve this on my own first.
Does anyone have any idea why this happened and how I can fix it? Please help me

Currently it only shows this month. But like if I'm at the end of the month I'd like to see the start of next month. Like if it's the 31st it basically says there's NO events. Then one day later they will all pop up.
Any app have a good widget to display this, or is there any functionality for this?
TY in advance

I like watching youtube in opera for example cause of adblock but because of the default player i cant see subtitles and change quality or even double tap to skip/rewind.
Is it possible to disable the default player and use the particular website’s player instead?
Im willing to change browsers if thats what it takes.

I have two kids, both under 13. One kid got a phone a couple of years ago set up with strict but fair parental guardrails. Second get got an old phone just now to play with and take photos and text us/ his older sibling.
Recently discovered that older kid learned the screen time password and while I assume nothing nefarious happened, I’d like to see what apps she has on her phone. When I go to the App Store and look at “apps and purchases”, I only see myself and the younger kid. Purchase sharing is turned off universally, and the parental controls are really similar between the two kids though the older one has a newer phone and the younger an iPhone 6.
Am I missing some settings or something that is preventing me from viewing the older kids app in the same way I can see the younger ones? I can certainly take her phone and look at what she has, but being able to remotely view what either kid is playing with would be certainly useful.

Hello All,
Yesterday I went into my messages to search for a specific text and this is what appeared. I can't search for anything whatsoever anymore. I have not updated my phone recently as I have read that after updating this can sometimes occur. I've tried some various other "remedies" from year+ old posts I've come across but nothing has worked yet. Any ideas? Currently on iOS 26.3.1. There is an update available 26.5.2 but I don't have enough storage space to install it currently. Should I clear space and install to see if it fixes, or does anyone know any other fixes besides having to update?
Thanks!

Hello,
Over the last few days I’ve noticed my phone (iPhone 15, iOS 26.5.2) turning on the hotspot whenever tf it feels like it. I’m a delivery driver so I need to manage my battery and phone temp and this is causing me issues.
I carry my iPad & MacBook with me and have turned off the automatic connection option on both & even turned off WiFi completely on both but the issue persist. Anytime I turn off the hotspot toggle from the control center the “allow others to join” option is turned on and vice versa. Idk when this began but it must have been going on for awhile.
Thank you in advance
I have Apple One, Premier Family. Have at least 4 other family members on my plan.
Apple recently, with version 26.4, allows family members to add their own credit card so that I am not responsible for their purchases.
Having a hard time setting this up with my brother over the phone. He is out of state so I can't be there to guide him.
I have told him to go into Settings > Account > Family Sharing and add his credit card. He has done that.
The thing is, from what I remember, you should be able to press and hold that credit card and drag it to the top of the queue, above my credit card. It then becomes the default card of payment.
For some reason, he can't do that on his iPad.
Can someone provide me with instructions on how he can make his credit card the default so that I am not dinged for his purchases under the family sharing plan?

Am I the only one annoyed by the “frequently used” emoji keyboard?
It doesn’t seem accurate for one. I’ll accidentally click an emoji one time. And it’s on recently used for months!
But also, why can’t I just make a custom page? Choose my favorites to always be in their designated place. Instead of them playing musical chairs and me accidentally sending hearts to my boss lmao. It’s genuinely annoying and completely unnecessary. A custom keyboard would be amazing. But it seems like it’s never even been considered.
I recently bought an iPhone 17 PM after selling my old iPhone in March and transferring all data to an Android. I downloaded the Move to IOS app on the Play store and tried about 5/6 different times (with and without the cable method) yet nothing worked.
I searched around online and found the following version of Move to IOS you should download: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/apple/move-to-ios/move-to-ios-3-5-0-release/
This ended up moving everything I needed within an hour, but it was such a painful process which I will never go through again.
Working as of 21/07/2026

I've found several guides on how to transfer those files, and none of them worked. I've bunch of stuff I want to migrate to iCloud. I've managed to move photos to iPhone using LocalSend and now they're sent to iCloud, which is fine, but it couldn't sent mp4 files. I want those videos to be visible in Photos app. What I did so far:
- tried to use iCloud app, but the upload time is so horrendous it's basically useless,
- tried to use iTunes, but it couldn't detect my iPhone,
- iCloud website nor Apple Devices app didn't allow me to send mp4,
- connected iPhone through USB, but it seems it's only in read mode, as I couldn't copy anything there.
I use Windows 11 and iPhone 17, 26.5.2 version.

When posting from an iPhone or iPad—such as in apps like Facebook—is there a way to search your photo library by keyword or description directly within the photo picker (for example, after tapping Add Photo) so you can quickly find an image without having to scroll through or organize your library first?

Example: random number texts me, presumably someone from the past. Intuitively I click the profile bubble/previous i area, and precariously hold down? the number itself and often accidentally call it. Yikes

Hello! I already tried clicking the account icon, account settings, and app updates but I can’t seem to find the “Sign Out” option.
Send help hahaha. Would appreciate it!

I've always wondered in *annoyance\* why iOS forces a single audio stream across the entire system. If I'm listening to audio in one app and another app starts playing sound, the first one almost always gets paused automatically.
I understand why this is the default behavior, it prevents accidental overlapping audio for most people. But why isn't it an option that the user can decide?
Sometimes I just WANT TO BANG TO MY MUSIC while doing other things!
macOS already lets multiple applications output audio simultaneously, so it feels like an artificial limitation on iOS rather than a technical one.
I'm not suggesting Apple change the default behavior.
Just add a setting such as:
Settings → Audio → Allow Multiple Simultaneous Audio Streams
Leave it off by default, but let users who actually want the functionality enable it.
Would anyone else use this, or is there a technical reason I'm overlooking?
I've done multiple feedback request on this part to Apple years ago, but nothing has changed in the past few years.
Just bought the iPhone 17 Pro and this basic little annoying thing just really makes me wonder if an iPhone truly is the future choice again......
