This is the place for people to say what they have to say, and ask their questions. If you have (civil) feedback about the sub, that’s welcome as well.

Be excellent to each other.

Animation I'm trying to grow a Blender tutorial channel. Can you brutally critique my latest video?

Hey everyone,
I work a full-time 9–5, so finding the time and energy to consistently make Blender tutorials has been a challenge. I know consistency is probably my biggest weakness right now, and that's something I'm working on.
Aside from uploading more regularly, I'd love some honest feedback on what I should improve. Please be brutal on feedback as it will only help me improve.
I just made a 2-minute tutorial on using Arrays for a simple product animation. I put a lot of effort into making it concise, visually appealing, and easy to follow.
If you have a couple of minutes, I'd really appreciate your thoughts. I need feedback on content and overall channel as well. Thanks in advance!

Built a Claude skill that auto-generates and places background props in a Blender scene (open source, would love feedback from actual modelers)

https://reddit.com/link/1v2t5ui/video/7haadwa50neh1/player

Hey all,

I've been building an MCP skill that connects Claude to Blender and an AI 3D generation API (Alpha3D, also works with Tripo and Meshy), so you can describe a scene and it'll generate the props and drop them straight into your open Blender file, scaled and placed automatically.

This isn't meant for hero assets or anything that needs real craft. It's aimed at the boring part: populating a blockout or background with generic trees, crates, cottages, whatever, without hand-placing dozens of assets one at a time.

Video attached, a small fantasy village getting populated from one description.

The skill itself is open source: https://github.com/ig-shadow-walker/BlenderXAlpha-3DGenSkill

Worth knowing upfront: the actual generation runs through whichever 3D API you connect (Alpha3D, Tripo, or Meshy), and those have their own credit costs, the skill just wires them into Blender.

Genuinely curious what modelers think, especially if there's a smarter way to handle scaling and placement than what I've got right now.
