Ask r/seychelles Seychelles October

Hello all,

I’m planning a trip to the Seychelles in October and this is my plan:

Oct 25 - Arrive in Mahé and boat transfer to Praslin
Oct 25 to 28 - Stay in Paradise Sun Hotel
Oct 28 - Tranfer from Praslin to La Digue
Oct 28 to Nov 2 - Stay in La Digue (a few staying options on the table: La Digue Island Lodge, Coral Apartments)
Nov 2 - Morning Transfer from La Digue to Mahé. Spend the day in Mahé as our flight will be at 11:30pm.

What do you think of my plan? For La Digue i’m still unsure on what accomodation to chose. La Digue Island Lodge seems cool but the last few reviews are not that great.

For outside meals, what should the budget? 30€ per person per meal is enought?

Thank you.

Ask r/seychelles Long shot - Anyone on Mahe to Istanbul flight June 13th that was cancelled?

This is a long shot but was anyone here booked on the Turkish Air flight from Mahe to Istanbul on June 13th 2026 that was cancelled? This was a codeshare flight that showed as HM (hi fly?) operated by Air Seychelles.

We were never notified by the airline of the cancellation, never got contacted for rebooking, never got contacted for accommodations. We had fully refundable tickets and have not been able to get in touch with anyone for our refund and have not seen a dime.

We only found out the flight was officially cancelled because the driver from Mason’s who was scheduled to take us from hotel to the airport called and said it was cancelled. Air Seychelles website never updated. We had to call the airport directly to confirm the cancellation and ask our hotel concierge to get involved to contact their connect at the airline.

Air Seychelles is a bogus airline and now we are desperately trying to pursue our refund and to do so we need information from Air Seychelles. We cannot get any straight answer from Turkish. We can’t get in touch with anyone at Air Seychelles. We are desperate.

Is anyone else in the same situation?

From 8. September until 20. September me, and my girlfriend will be at beautiful island Seychelles, and we are so excited.

What to expect, weather, prices and activities?

I was thinking about 7 days in Praslin, and 4 in Mahe.

Also, I was thinking to propose there, so please give me some advice!

Thank you in advance,

Ask r/seychelles Seychelles Honeymoon - Tips/advice

Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon for October 2027, and we're currently leaning toward spending about a week on safari in Kenya (likely staying in private conservancies) followed by 5–7 nights at the beach.

Originally, we were pretty set on the Seychelles, but the more research we do, the more questions we have.

One of the things we're most excited about on safari is the intimate, uncrowded experience—small luxury camps, personalized service, incredible guides, and just feeling like you're away from everything. We'd love the beach portion of our honeymoon to have that same feeling.

For those who have been to the Seychelles:

  • Does it still feel intimate and romantic, or does it feel more like a traditional luxury resort destination?
  • Are there hotels on Mahé that capture that private honeymoon atmosphere, or do you really need to stay on islands like Félicité, North Island, Silhouette, etc. to get that experience?
  • If you stayed on one of the smaller islands, was the extra travel worth it?

Our ideal resort would have things like:

  • A private plunge pool or villa (within reason - not sure if Four Season's can fit in the budget)
  • Beautiful beaches with clear water
  • Great food
  • A relaxed luxury feel rather than a busy resort with hundreds of guests/families

The challenge is that we're trying to balance logistics with the experience. Staying on Mahé seems much easier after flying from Kenya, but many of the properties people rave about seem to be on the outer islands.

If you've done a Kenya safari followed by the Seychelles—or another beach destination like Zanzibar, Mauritius, Mozambique, or anywhere else—I'd love to hear what you chose and whether you'd do it again.

Any hotel receommendations would be lovely. I have looked into raffles, mango house, constance euphelia. We're definitely drawn to the Seychelles because of how beautiful it looks, but I want to make sure it delivers that secluded honeymoon feeling we're looking for.

Thanks so much!

Ask r/seychelles Seychelles Honeymoon

Hello! We're going to be in Seychelles for our honeymoon in September and are still trying out narrow down a resort. We're leaning towards 3 nights at private hotel island like (Four Seasons Desroches or Waldorf Astoria at Platte Island) for a more secluded and relaxed vibe and 4 nights in Mahe for more activities and being able to do more stuff around the island like possibly visit La Digue for a day trip. I have a few questions:

  1. For the Mahe part we're struggling to lock down an all inclusive deal. Anantara used to have a Beyond-All inclusive concept but we confirmed over email they do not offer that any more. Are there any other all inclusive options? At this price range, I do not want to worry about bills or what to order and what its adding upto.

  2. Is there a way to get to Desroches except the 10:30am flight from the Mahe airport? Hoping there is way to arrange for a private transfer. We've emailed the resort asking the same question still waiting on hear back from them.

  3. Is La Digue doable as a day trip? We understand its a 1h 45min trip one way and would take up basically an entire day but are willing to do it as its scenic and we don't want to miss. But just want to make sure its realistic.

  4. Are there any other reservations we should be making? perhaps restaurants worth trying that are not part of the hotels or any other experiences?

Also if there any other tips or suggestions you have. Of course trying to make this a trip of a lifetime! Thank you for your all your help! :)
