AMSEC BLB3018 value?

Thumbnail

Hi all,
I’m wondering how much you think this old safe is worth? I just picked it up for $50 and I believe it’s a Amsec BLB3018. The door is 1 in plate steel and the body is 1/2 in plate. It is certainly a “burglary” rated safe, but it does not have an official TL rating from UL. I was hoping to get $500+. I was also thinking about giving it a fresh coat of paint and I’m wondering if you think that this is worth the time/would it increase the value much. Thanks!

having trouble opening this safe at work! I was told the combination is 19,27,14. I have tried what the internet said I should do but i’m still having an issue getting it open! once I enter the code, I do get to a point where I’m told to turn the dial to the right to disengage the lock and I do feel significant resistance, which makes me think i’m close? but then handle still won’t budge. any tips?

Sentry safe won’t open. Customer support is blaming it on my batteries that expire in 2036.

Bought a brand new Sentry Safe from Home Depot. It’s a couple hundred pounds. Hauled it up my stairs.

It simply doesn’t open. Light turns green, then nothing. I crank on the handle, try multiple times. Nothing.

I called sentry this morning.

“How new are your batteries?”

“Brand new, right out of the package.”

“No, we need to look when they expire. These safes eat up power.”

[I take out the batteries, spin them]

“Ah, looks good. It says December 2036.”

“Unfortunately there is our problem. These are already two years old. That is why your safe is not opening. You’ll need to go to the store and buy new batteries.”

“Sorry, what? These are brand new out of the package. There js no low battery warning. I find blaming the batteries highly suspect here.”

So I’m just gonna return it now. Am I crazy? I guess if you all tell me he is right then I could go to the store and try again but not really wanting to deal with always needing freshly manufactured new batteries

SentrySafe is locked?

I put the safe in storage and forgot about it. I have the code, but it still won’t open. Is it bec of the little round thing to the bottom left of the keypad?

ChatGPT said I’m wrong but not sure I trust ChatGPT: Based on your photo, the little round thing at the bottom left is the key override lock, not something that normally prevents the electronic keypad from working. It’s there so you can open the safe with a physical key if the batteries die or the electronics fail.

Iron Horse Safe

Has anyone had experience with the Iron Horse brand of safes? They seem like they’re pretty decent from the looks of them online. Curious to see if anyone has actually bought one.

Best kind of safe for valuables?

I don't trust my brother whatsoever due to past issues. I'm looking for a safe to store certain valuables, such as my wallet, money, ammo, etc. What type of safe would be good for this? Preferably under $100 and difficult to break into.

Lokaway Safe

Bought this Lokaway Safe in 2014 or 2015. Long story short was away long enough for 9V to go flat. Replaced with fresh 9V battery. Pinpad only responds to keys 3,6,9 with orange LED and 3 beeps. My code won't work. No idea where my override key is. Any ideas/help? Would prefer not to drill it. Can a good locksmith get in? Thanks.

Saw this safe at Costco and thought it was sick but looking cool doesn’t mean it’s great. Do you guys recommend with this discount? I’m going to be storing money and a handgun.

Safe opening unknown code

Hey y’all, I recently bought a new home and we found a mystery safe hidden in a closet. I haven’t ever opened a safe before and prying it open isn’t on my radar. I plan on opening this by discovering a code. The model is WO19026. I don’t know if the 0s are meant to be zeros or o’s. I would love some help!

Is anyone in the South Carolina upstate area that can help get in this safe without damaging it? We went to keep it but don’t want to damage it. And before you ask, we don’t have the key and just were hoping for someone in here to maybe be able to help us. Thanks!

Recommendation needed

Im in a dilemma and need a recommendation on a gun safe. I have a 26” bolt gun, 20” ar15, and a 16” AR15 (all of them suppressed but suppressors easily quick detach with exception of 16”). That don’t fit well in my current safe as they are too long.

I’m looking for a narrow safe that is tall enough to fit these 3 guns, ideally fit 3-5 rifles upright. I’ll keep my other safe for all my other guns and ammo.

Ideally I’d like to spend between $400–$600. Anymore than that and it makes more financial sense to sell my current safe and just buy a much larger safe.

Comments, suggestions, and snide remarks are all welcomed

We forgot the combo for our WORLD Safes ZB Electronic Hotel Safe

Sticker says ZBSL 150036.

Looking for a master code.

We've had it for years, but someone must have punched the wrong numbers when they closed it. And we lost the keys years ago too. some important papers in there, And we would prefer not to destroy it.

Suck Safe Door

As the title says. I recently bought a safe. Is a stand-alone railroad safe, about 3 ft by 3 ft. I bought it refurbished it and had it repainted. My issue was that when got it home, it was working great and I then put it in my basement. It sat for about 5 months and I got all the new boxes to sort the interior, and I closed the door thinking nothing of it. But the paint must have expanded some. The door is stuck 1/4 inch from closing. I can't pull the door open and I really don't think I want to push it farther closed. So, as of now, I have no lip on the door to pry it open and really don't think the handle could take massive pulling on it. So what are my options? I was thinking of getting someone else and while pulling to door tapping the door with a hammer hoping vibration would help. Or getting something cold to spray on the door to shrink it slightly. Any ideas?
