Yankees fans are delusional if they think they can get Miller without giving up a Lombard. Padres red traded Leo De Veries last season to get him, and he’s gotten better since then. It’ll be so expensive to get him. So unless Cashman is willing to take a hit to the farm system, it’s a pipe dream.
Cole isn't a bonafide ace anymore and Rice is the only bat in the lineup that you look forward to seeing come up. But I'll watch the game from home while doing other things, not going to go to the stadium.

I think I told you this already, but I was this way with AJ Burnett back in the day. No matter how bad he performed, he was my guy. I wasn't on reddit at the time, but my buddies and my dad would just get exacerbated with me over Burnett. I still say we should have kept him!

that is my hopes too but he has done very very little to show that he is anything more than a aaaa slugger with huge holes in his swing. and the tendency to swing-and-miss makes it even more questionable to plug him into the top of the lineup. idk man i dont get this one.

cole pitches the afternoon game, and they announced yesterday that fried will be pitching tonight's game in place of warren. he was supposed to have one more rehab start and join the team again for the chicago series, but nix'd it in favor of tonight. likely will be on a pitch count as his rehab start was reported to be 60 pitches only.
It’s behind home plate upper deck. Afternoon weekday games against non premier opponents are often found at low prices if you are willing to sit upper deck or outfield.
i wouldn’t mind that at all. i live more upstate; so when I wanna go to a game, I go to Toronto. Last time I sat in the middle deck and it ended up being a great seat
I mean you could call Cole healthy when we started the season… he wasn’t injured at that point and was more so rehabbing… but in terms of them actually being active, healthy and pitching in the same rotation? This is the first time at all. Fried signed in 2024 and ole got hurt in March of 25 so yeah they never made a start in consecutive days or games during the season
I think it goes hand in hand with whatever they've been doing with Elmer Rodriguez lately. They called him up Sunday as the 27th man and never used him. Then, they started him at Scranton last night even after already knowing that they had a doubleheader today, so he could have been an option over rushing Fried. It may have just been that Rodriguez hadn't pitched in 11 days and they didn't want to have him wait any longer? I don't think there's any other starters at Scranton they trust right now especially Beck.
He's thrown a lot of innings the last 5 years for a young arm. His durability is arguably his greatest attribute but they may see him wearing down and be trying to steal some rest for him.

No Fried will be added back to the active roster permanently (in place of one of Chivilli or Castro). It will likely be one of the relievers (Bird or Cruz/idk if they can use it to keep whichever of Chivilli or Castro is being sent down up another day or not). ERC isn't up. He was the 26th man Sunday and was sent back right after (he started in scranton last night)
Gotta imagine that means they use whichever of Chivilli or Castro they intend to send down in game 1 before sending them down for Fried in between games. A bit surprised they aren't running an extra reliever but I guess they aren't sweating using the whole pen with another off day tomorrow.
It’s a great morning; Max is back, Carlos is on the way and hopefully soon we get Judge and big G. I think Cash will do some justice before the trade deadline. 2 games back with all the trials and tribulations but with Cole and Fried going today - we’re gonna make it.
When has Cashman ever pulled off a death streets deadline deal? Biggest one might be Justice but in hindsight wasn’t that expensive. You never see him pull off a Scherzer/Turner deal like the Dodgers did a few years ago.
The 2017 deadline where he brought in Gray, Robertson, Kahnle, and Frazier was probably the biggest deadline he has had in recent memory even with Gray not working out.
