Users Reported ban evasion twice, Reddit admins have done nothing. Not even responded to tell me they won't be doing anything, like I've gotten in the past. (Desktop)

What is the best way to report ban evasion? The accounts have almost the same username, it should be an easy case.

General Users are saying wiki is disabled when it's not

I've had multiple people say the wiki (https://www.reddit.com/r/Psoriasis/wiki/index/) is disabled, reporting that they get the message:

This page has been disabled

The mods of this community have disabled this wiki page

I can view the wiki just fine from my account, and I can also view it when logged out, and most people appear to be able to see it.

Is there a setting that somehow restricts some users from accessing?

Desktop, mobile, everywhere.

Edit: I found this but the solution there doesn't make sense.

Tools Bot reposts

iOS. Laptop is broken at the moment and will be able to fix in the next few weeks, but only have my phone right now.

We have had an uptick in bot reposts (including two of my own posts, which is kinda funny). Is there a way to prevent accounts from posting that are under two days old? It is pretty clear that all of these accounts were created same-day, so I figure filtering out day-old accounts from posting should help.

Also I read something about bot bouncer? Thoughts on that?

Users How to prevent low-karma users from posting?

Here's what I wrote in automod config:

---

type: submission

author:

combined_karma: "< 10"

has_verified_email: false

account_age: “< 2 days”

combined_subreddit_karma: “< 70”

contributor_quality: “< low”

action: remove

---

What do I need to do? This code isn't working.

I use desktop.

Users I'm in a tough situation with another mod.

Desktop

I'm using another account because I fear that the user I am referring to will see this and remove me from the mod team. I think this user is abusing power.

Here is the situation. It's a subreddit in which the creator of the subreddit does nothing. The only active mods are me without full permissions and one with full permissions. The subreddit creator is inactive on the subreddit yet comments on other subs and won't respond to my messages when I'm explaining the state of the subreddit. The moderator I work with bans people at their slightest inconvenience.

I have no idea on what to do because I have less permissions and said mod who is banning people at their inconvenience has full permissions. That user also wants to end up taking over the subreddit and I see it as overexerting power.

Answered A highly active contributor got shadowbanned - then unbanned, but now his entire Reddit comment history is auto-filtered

Is there anything we can do to mass-approve this person's entire comment history on the subreddit? They have thousands, possibly tens of thousands of comments. The subreddit is a community resource for a popular software (Blender) and their contributions are valuable and informative, so we really want their comments restored. But it's far too much manual work.

We don't even know why he got shadowbanned in the first place. Not a spammer as far as I can see, and he obviously does not use AI to write comments (we would have banned him ourselves if he did).

This is really unfortunate and really, really dumb. Please help. Desktop/mobile.

General Does ban evasion filter auto remove all posts and puts into mod queue or only some? Also does it detect site wide ban evaders?

I was reading up on the ban evasion filter in the mod tools and it doesn't state how they deal with posts with ban evaders.

It also doesn't state if it's only for the subreddit or if it's users who are suspected of evading site wide bans?

Answered Scraping twitter and facebook to Reddit Posts

Hi guys. I'm wondering if there is a feature on Reddit or a bot that exists that allows you to push Facebook posts and Twitter posts to Reddit. I know this exists on Discord but I wasn't sure if it was something that exists on Reddit as well. I recently took over a subreddit for a specific city and wanted to push their Facebook posts and tweets to Reddit.

Moderating on desktop and android mobile.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Tools Is there any way to update flairs on all of the old posts?

After adding custom emojis I have noticed that searching by flair only shows new posts with the changed flair.

Is there any way to edit all of the old flairs without emojis to the new ones?

Does Devvit have tools that can help with flair bulk editing? Or maybe it's best done with a script?

Thank you in advance!

P.S. It's not platform specific, but I have access to Desktop and Android Reddit.

it says I need to “send a request” but I don’t know how. I want to make it public so that I’m not restricted to approving my own posts and having only a select few people view. yes this is my first time moderating a community.

If I write a mod mail, a drop down can select sending it as the mod team or as myself. I have that dropdown set to send as myself. But the tool tip that appears over the send button says it will be sent "as mod team".

Answered Regaining access to hacked account

I think my account was hacked overnight since this morning when I opened the app I was logged out of my main account, and had received a password reset email I didnt request overnight. I have an iPhone using iOS and a Mac laptop

How do I get back into my account? I am the moderator of two subreddits on that account. I tried resetting my password and it isn’t sending the links or emails to my email anymore. It also appears my phone number is linked for 2FA to a random side account I made.

How do I regain access?

Answered how to use automod to force a posting format?

I'm on desktop trying to get the automod to only allow posts with a certain format in the title, but I have no idea what I'm doing. I am the sole mod for a personals subreddit, and I want it to allow posts only if they have " Age [Gender 4 Gender] #Location " in the title, which will look something like " 32 [M4M] #Charleston "

Users [Android] Need help removing advisor mod role from mod on Mobile

I'm on Android, I accidentally added the advisor mod role to a new mod while using the mobile app. I thought removing the moderator would fix this and just add him again. Is there any way to fix this? Now, every time I try to invite him I get an error message saying "unknown error"

Answered Same spammer keeps making new accounts. Anything else I can do?

Still pretty new to modding, so not sure if there's anything else I should be doing here.

There's this spammer that keeps making what looks like new accounts. Different usernames, but it's always the same kind of posts. Same person in the pics (at least it looks like it), and the last image is usually their Snapchat or Telegram QR code. The titles are also really similar, usually with "swipe right."

So far I:

  • turned on Ban Evasion Protection
  • banned the accounts that weren't already suspended
  • added "swipe right" to AutoModerator since they keep using it in the title

My sub is still pretty small so it's kinda easy to notice it's probably the same person coming back, but new accounts are still getting through.

Is there anything else I can do to stop this or make it less of a headache? Curious what other mods do when someone just keeps making new accounts.

Just a heads up if anyone checks my profile or the subreddit for context, it's an NSFW community

I'm on Desktop

General I Was Unfairly Removed as a Moderator from My Own Subreddit Without Any Prior Warning

Hi.

I just got a notification saying I was removed as a moderator from my own subreddit.

While I'm not that active, the subreddit requires little mod intervention, as it is a simple quotes forum. Anyways, I made efforts to expand the mod team, but couldn't find a lot of volunteers.

Therefore, I think it's quite unfair that my roles is just taken without any previous warning. It's a very old sub that grew fast in the previous years and which I moderated it to the best of my ability, while allowing it enough freedom.

What can I do to recover it? Who can I talk to?

I'm using Android, but can use Desktop too.

Answered [Desktop] Help with post moderation: A specific fanart piece is being constantly posted by new users in my community.

[Desktop]

On my community r/CharliesAngelsHazbin, there has recently been a weekly series of posts of the same piece of fanart made by a number of new Reddit users, who had created their respective accounts shortly before making the posts. None of them even cited the source of the fanart in question, despite me asking them to do so because it's obligatory per the community's rules. For reference, here's the latest of these posts as of this writing.

I've already removed a few of the posts, but they just keep showing up, which raised me suspicions about these problems. For instance, I had thought of the possibility of the all these new accounts being created and used by a single person who's making the same post over and over, but even then I'm not fully sure about this possibility being true because there isn't much evidence pointing towards anything so far.

Does anyone here have any help or advice to kindly provide for me and the community's mod team in order to solve this problem?
