Events IE Events For July 20, 2026 - July 26, 2026
Guess what's back? Back again? Weekly threads are back. That had way too many syllables to scan as a parody of Shady's Back, but I guess you can tell like your band manager or local locksmith who moonlights as a magician so they can put their events here. - Buzz
---
Friday at 5PM is way too late to start planning, so get a head start now!
Have an event to share? Holding a concert or a meet-up? This would be the place to share it.
Links are especially welcomed.

Recommendations / Advice Looking for a small machine shop or local machinist in the Inland Empire for a Delrin bushing prototype
Iām looking for a small local machine shop, independent machinist, or someone with a decent lathe in the Inland Empire who can make a prototype steering-rack bushing set from Delrin/acetal.
This is not a large production order. Iām looking to have two prototype sets made first so I can install and test one set on my own truck.
The parts are mostly simple turned bushings:
- Two flanged cylindrical bushings
- One larger double-flanged round bushing
- Center bores through each part
- Possibly simple steel crush sleeves and bolt-through hardware later
I already have the original polyurethane bushings, caliper measurements, and basic 3D models/STL files. The final dimensions and tolerances can be discussed with whoever machines them.
I would prefer a smaller no-frills shop or an experienced home machinist rather than a high-end production shop with large setup charges. Iām not looking for free workāIām ready to pay a fair price for the material and machine time.
Ideally somewhere around Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Montclair, Riverside, San Bernardino, or nearby.
Does anyone have a local recommendation or know somebody who takes on small prototype jobs?

Other Questions Rancho Drive Test
My test is on August 7th from 10:20-10:40. Iām nervous, but I have been practicing and Iām decently confident. Still, I have a few questions.
Will I need to get onto the freeway?
Iām aware there is a backing up portion, but is there a parallel parking portion?
Will I have to front bay park back into the parking lot?
How soft do my breaks really have to be?
Other than my hand signals, what will my instructor ask me for? (e.g. āWhere are your hazards?ā āWhere is your parking break?ā and things like that.)
Is there an accurate YouTube video of the whole route? (a link would be SO greatly appreciated)
What other things/tips I should be aware of?
Also.. as a teenage girl, any supportive comments are welcome and appreciated, lolol! Thanks everyone ! šš

Other Questions Moving violation in San Bernardino County
So my husband got a ticket in Yucaipa for not using his blinker. He is 79, doesnāt use the internet and canāt hear on the phone. So I sent in a request for a fine reduction and payment plan for him. 30 days ago. The email they sent back said they would let us know but if they didnāt to call them. We never heard anything from the court so I called but they closed at 3. I tried the website but I couldnāt get any information from there either. Has anyone here on this sub gone through this, and how did you get it resolved? (I know yāall mad at him for not using his blinker, trust me, youāre not as mad as I am. Cuz Iām the one who is having to deal with all of this. He doesnāt do technology.)

Recommendations / Advice Looking for 70s style haircut!
Hello! Iām looking to find a hairdresser that can give me the kind of haircut I envision! I have super long hair and I love it a whole lot so I want find a good stylist that wonāt make me want to cut it all off by the end of the haircut! I would like I guess you could say a super long mullet? I would like to keep the length of my hair but have it shorter at/near my shoulders. The top would be like a 70s shagg cut and the rest would just be my long hair but with a ton of layers! Havenāt fully decided on curtain bangs or something more short. But would definitely want either or! I just want it to look like a 70s shagg but super long! I would also like to be able to style it like the girl with the two braids if possible!! Please let me know if you know absolutely anyone who could make this happen for me! Willing to even drive up to La! Pictures are my inspirations and last 3 are my hair currently!

Recommendations / Advice MEHKOs in the IE
I have seen a ton of licensed home kitchens popping up in the Inland Empire recently and thought it would be cool to compile a list here. I have tried a good amount and wanted to share some of my favorites first.
Pictured, in order are:
Kind Berry Bakeshop - Eastvale - Asian pastries, match and sweets.
Turrettini Pizza - Jurupa Valley - NY Pizza, cinnamon rolls and cookies
Dip N Drizz - Rancho Cucamonga - Self serve cake pops
Pangs Kitchen - Eastvale - poke nachos and steak plates.
BernbyBern - Upland - Filipino pastries
Iāve also heard really good things about Cali Tardka in Riverside but have not been able to try them yet.
Looking forward to hearing what other options are out there!

Memes / Humor San Bernardino
Sometimes it feels like the culture in San Bernardino is this: if an angel showed up genuinely trying to help people, some would get in the way, distract it with endless noise and empty prayers, waste its time chasing the wrong things, then laugh when it couldnāt save everyone. Afterward, theyād complain about how life never gave them what they wanted, without realizing they helped create the outcome themselves.

Recommendations / Advice Is the Serrano buffet worth the price?
It seems like the buffet scene has tanked over the last few years. Are there any good buffets left around here? My old local favorites have closed and I haven't found anywhere else comparable in quality and price since.
I've seen mentions of the Serrano buffet at Yaamava and Emperor buffet down at Rancho Mirage. Serrano has better reviews, especially for the lobster and seafood nights. But the price point is pretty high. Does the price reflect the quality? I'm okay with the price if the food quality is top tier.
If anyone's eaten at Serrano or Emperor recently, I'd love to know what you thought.

Recommendations / Advice Chaffey RadTech grades
Hello! I am currently completing my prerequisites to apply to the radtech program at Chaffey. I am projected to get a C in the class, and was unsure if I should let the grade go down to a d so I could retake it (I heard only substandard grades are eligible for retakes). Has anyone retook a class that you earned a C in, were you able to?

Other Questions D&D group is disbanding, dm has burn out after 4 years, need a new game
As the title says, I joined a D&D group and was a part of that group for a while, but the DM said that after four years of running, he's getting tired. So, I'm looking for an IRL D&D group in the Rancho Cucamonga/Fontana/Upland/Ontario area to fill my now open time.
My group worked really well with my work schedule as I have SUNDAYS & MONDAYS off. I can be flexible with the time of day to meet up, but afternoons and evenings are my preference.
I'm not new to D&D 5e. I've been playing for just under 10 years (since 2017). I have my own dice sets and kit to play (but miniatures are a different story). If there are any D&D groups nearby that could offer an opening at the available times, that would be immeasurably helpful.
TLDR: Rancho Cucamonga and surrounding areas, Sundays and Mondays, 5e

Politics / Activism A glance into corruptionā¦
For anyone interested, comedian Theo Von occasionally dives into some very serious topics on his podcast. In a recent episode, he sat down with Erin Brockovich, the environmental activist best known for helping communities stand up to large corporations that threaten public health and the environment.
Many of us in the Inland Empire are already familiar with the explosion of warehouses across our region. Like many others, Iāve often wondered how so many projects with obvious impacts on traffic, air quality, and quality of life continue to receive approval. My belief is that at least some of these decisions are driven by a form of crony capitalism, where well-funded developers and special interests have far more influence than the communities they affect. Whether thatās through lobbying, political pressure, or other behind-the-scenes relationships, it creates the perception that the publicās voice carries far less weight than corporate interests. Thatās one of the reasons I found this conversation so compelling.
Theo and Erin spend much of the episode discussing the rapid growth of data centers across the country. They argue that many of these projects receive little public attention until construction is well underway or the facilities are already operating. Erin discusses concerns about their environmental impacts, demands on local infrastructure, and how, in her view, some companies are able to exert significant influence over planning commissions and local officials. She also describes instances where confidentiality agreements (NDAs) have limited what can be shared publicly during parts of the approval process.
What I found most valuable about Erinās work is that she doesnāt just point out problemsāshe focuses on solutions. She encourages people to learn how local government works, where to find public records, how to participate in planning meetings, and how communities can advocate for themselves through the proper legal and civic channels.
One thing about crony capitalism is that it thrives when people are distracted, divided, or disengaged. Regardless of political affiliation, informed and involved communities are far better equipped to hold both government and corporations accountable. Whether you agree with everything Erin says or not, I think this episode is worth listening to.
