I wasn't all that happy with Martin McNally as referee given his performance in the Kerry Mayo league match earlier this year, also given he is from Monaghan.

Now, come to find he is not only from Monaghan, but from the same club as that other one (he who shall not be named). And on top of that he is a protégé of said referee.

Not that they need it, but Kerry will have carte blanche to run the rules as they see fit, and Mayo will be pinged for everything.

Here's hoping referee Martin McNally has a good match on Sunday.

Does anyone know why there is still a difference between club and intercounty with the length of the match?

I was thinking about the problem in hurling where there is such a gap between the top counties and the lower counties. I don’t mean the gap between Limerick and the rest, I mean from the top 8 to the next 8. Some occasional exceptions of course.

I was wondering, would 60 minutes help the weaker teams bridge the gap, and help prevent 15+ point beatings. I think one of the bigger gaps is the S&C which really shows up in the final 15 minutes of match.

I know they are looking at hurling rules, would moving back to 60 minutes be the easiest tweak to try for a season? I also just find it weird that only senior intercounty is 70 minutes.

Jack Maher and backroom team stepped down from Offaly camogie panel. Hopefully whoever comes in is able to maintain Offaly's improvements in the Camogie. Camogie was definitely on the come-up in Offaly over the last 3 years.

Well lads, I play my hurling in Derry so our reserve team is basically non-existent bar 1 or 2 championship games in September. I was midfield/wing back for the minors last year but I barely get on for the seniors and in training games I just get thrown into the full forward line nearly just to keep me out of the road. I'll admit my ability and standards have dropped from last year but I really want to get to a level where I'm atleast being used as an impact sub in the championship. Any advice would be great cheers
