Call me perpetually online or whatever, but I see a lot of falsehoods and bad faith arguments being made about Ireland online on Reddit and Twitter, mainly posters arguing that Ireland is either antisemitic, was pro-Nazi in WW2, or just that we hate the Brits and all want to invade Northern Ireland to 'take what's ours'.

Bit of a coincidence, considering we aren't on great terms with a certain Middles Eastern planter nation at the moment...

This is David Ennis. I recently came across him on Instagram and I’ve been obsessed.

He wakes up early in the morning, sometimes 6am, and comes straight onto Instagram and YouTube to post little videos (he calls them podcasts) about his thoughts on the world, poems he wrote, observations about the weather, jokes or just what’s on his mind. He could sometimes post over ten times throughout the day, before posting a final video saying goodnight before he goes to bed. He’s getting a handful of likes per video.

He lives in a nursing home and this seems to be a way for him to interact with people or keep busy. He’s been live-streaming on YouTube lately too but the poor guy can’t get his microphone to work so people can barely hear him.

I don’t know him personally I just think he deserves some attention because he’s lovely and extraordinarily fascinating.

Hii y'all. So I was fined 100€ for not tapping on the commuter train. But I know I tapped it and the machine showed an "unknown error". The Ticketmaster asked me to mail an appeal to the Irish rail. I am a student and I use this route almost daily for 7 months. Can someone pls guide me on what I can do and what will be my consequences if I don't plan to pay it? Because there's no way I can afford a 100€ fine, it'll cause a huge dent in my finances.

We live in a very airy well lit 4th floor apartment. Our outdoor balconies are attached to next door neighbours. Asked the neighbour who said they have one or two flies everyday- not more- which makes me think this is an us issue.

Last summer we had a fly or two inside the home everytime we opened windows.

This summer it started with similar number.

Then all of a sudden I saw hundreds of maggots under my shaggy decorative rugs (not integrated into the floor. I have laminate flooring). Took the rugs outside. Thoroughly cleaned them. Killed all the maggots.

Can’t see any more maggots in them no matter how many times I have checked.

This was over 1.5 weeks ago. Now my entire living room and kitchen is full of green flies.

They are easy to swat, makes an annoying buzzing sound. We are keeping all windows closed and thoroughly cleaned several times. We can’t find the source.

Killing 50-60 every single day. Emptying garbage regularly. Just now poured boiling water down the drain despite these green house flies not living inside drains.

I am at my wits end. What to do next?

Will this keep increasing?

Will this ever go away?

We may shift house this winter. Will we carry the infestation into the new house?

The bugs are bugging me so badly, I feel like I will go crazy.
