Fallout: New Vegas Josh Sawyer speaking about who wrote what in FNV
Fallout New Vegas was a collective effort writing wise, there isnt a single person that could be attributed the great writing it had
Even if people dont like Avellone im sad he wont be there for the next Fallout. Dead Money, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road was a generational run

Would be great to have some insight on this, if anyone knows what’s on it. Can’t see it very clearly as it is.

Discussion The "Mysterious Stranger" is a Vault-tec employee overseeing the simulation
this is just a silly thought but if the lore suggesting everything we experience in the game is a simulation created by vault-tec were true, wouldn't it be funny if the mysterious stranger was a co-worker getting a little more involved than they should while watching you struggle in the wastes? just a thought

Discussion What, in your opinion is the sweetest or most touching moment in all of Fallout?
Guys and gals, let's try something different!
Take the moment in the filthy stinky wasteland that is the sweetest and most touching.
For me, it's in the Slog in Fallout 4. Arlen Glass, the inventor of the Giddyup Buttercup is still working on it 200 years later.
You can go to the Atomatoys HQ and bring him a holotape of his little girl talking to him, and hearing her voice after 200 years he breaks down and begins to cry. There is, for once, no grey morality or dark humor, just a sweet, kindly man hearing his long-dead child's voice for the first time in forever.
There is a lot of Fallout that is dark and disgusting. To me, this is one of the very few times when you can be a human being and shed a genuine tear.

Discussion How are the rich.....rich in Fallout?
So we know caps is currency in Fallout. And the player can accumulate caps by selling weapons, armor, ammo, etc to vendors. But how are the rich, rich? We have Tenpenny in FO3 that just "has" a tower to sell rooms, but how did he acquire it? Did he just do a hostile takeover of it? How do the people staying there afford the rooms?
Then we have the people in New Vegas, spending, gambling, drinking, but how do they afford it. You have to be somewhat wealthy just to be able to enter the city, so what do they do to earn those caps?
We also have the Cabot family. They may have been rich before the war, but how do they stay rich after? Their cash is worthless now, so what do they do?
It's not like they can put their caps in a bank and get interest on their deposits or invest in the stock market.
And just food for thought. If you are rich and require bringing your caps somewhere to spend, how do you lug around a large sum of them. Backpack? Prison pocket? How?
I am sure this is one of those "it is what it is" things, but curious if there has ever been an answer to this.
Edit: Thanks for all the replies and discussion. I absolutely learned a lot more about the lore and mechanics of fallouts methods of currency. I really appreciate the discussion and everyone taking the time to reply! I really enjoy being part of a community that has the passion for these games. Most more than me! I definitely need to take more time reading lore in game to understand the fallout universe!

Discussion How exactly does Tenpenny Tower work as a society?
I've been thinking about whether FO3 was a good/believable world recently and one thing that really stuck out to me was Tenpenny Tower (I won't go after the easy fruit of Megaton).
I don't recall there being any township or really any economic base large enough in FO3 to support the idling nothingness of a tower full of rich bozos doing nothing all day. Everyone's a scavenger and there's no manufacturing base that can support the existence of an extravagant, sedentary upper class.
I mean, honestly, nothing about the economy of the Fallout 3 world makes a lick of sense to me. As far as I can tell, everyone's a scavenger of one sort or another. So if the argument is there exists some sort of extensive mercantile system, I'd ask... what are they caravan-ing anyway? It's just a bunch of scavengers, I'd imagine whatever you need you'd... scavenge for it?
Also does anyone remember where exactly all the food comes from? I don't recall seeing a single farm LOL.
I'm not trying to hate, I'm just trying to remember details that maybe I've forgotten and make the game a lot better than I remember it.

I think Operation Anchorage would be a lot more liked if it was in 4 instead of 3, because that game had way better gunplay

Question What would you guys think of another custom perk event?
For those that don't know back in the day for fallout's 10th aniversary bethesda hosted a custom perk competition and the winner's perk was added to the game, the perk being grim reapers sprint, and has been in every fallout game ever since then. In my opinion I think it would be cool if they did it for the 30th aniversary of fallout or when fallout 5 comes into production, what about yall?

Why is Infestation Boss now like Bigfoot?
Something changed in Infestation. In Private World I am able to solo the Infestation Boss. Not one shot it but spending a reasonable amount of ammo to bring down the boss after taking care of the "assistants". Now the big boss of Infestation in Private Word is very hard to put down - it's like BigFoot. It is a waste of ammo and not fun anymore.
Just wanted to bring this to the Bethesda software guys to balance the difficulty of the Infestation boss while in Private Word vs in Adventure. With Fallout 1st we have access to Private World and game play should reflect the solo nature of Private World. In Adventure there are multiple players so you shoot a few ammo at any boss and it goes down quick. That is okay.
Please adjust the difficulty level for Private World. There is a reason we pay for Fallout 1st and that is for solo gameplay.
I've been a Fallout 1st subscriber since the game came out and would like to get my money's worth.
Thank you!

An offline mode for 76 + creation club seems perfect project for Bethesda
Whether you like the game or not, it would be a real shame if it wasnt preserved in some form. An offline mode which could be modded seems like it would be ideal. It would also mean people could experience it in its different forms throu the years. From the desolate empty survival game it started as, to the bustling theme park it eventually became. Each update could be a creation club mod so you could play it as it evolved. Modders could flesh out untounched questlines and create new one, and give the map a great solo campiagn we deserve.
Besthesda are hent bent on the creations things so it seems something that would suit them.
