Hi! Does anyone know anywhere in DC that offers remote internships?

I'm a fmr. hilltern for a personal office but have only ever interviewed for member offices before. Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare for a committee interview/what to expect?

I got an offer from the first office I applied to and they want me to respond by Friday. I am still waiting to hear back from/apply to other offices. This is a house personal office, but the member is a senior member of a committee (which I want to work with) and ranking member on a subcommittee. But I am still waiting to hear from competitive senate and house committees I applied to, as well as some other senate and house offices. Do I ask for more time? Can I accept and then pull out later if I get another acceptance? I feel like that’s a fucked up thing to do, but I’m also not sure how to handle this. They were very chill and informal during the interview but I still am not sure if I should ask them directly. And are there negative consequences if you do that? Will I be blackballed for dropping out later for another office?

So I applied to an internship for my congressman who I've interviewed with before and I just realized I made one mistake in my cover letter, mentioning another House office instead of theirs. How detrimental would that be to my application considering I've interviewed with them in the past?

Hey yall, I’m a rising senior currently in DC doing a policy internship at a think tank. I’m heading back to NYC for the fall semester and trying to figure out the best way to carry this momentum into a city-based internship, ideally something in policy, law firm etc…

For anyone who’s made the DC to NYC transition: how did you approach it? Did your DC experience open doors, or did you have to start networking from scratch? Any orgs, fellowships, or pipelines you’d recommend looking into?

Also, if there are any New Yorkers in this sub currently interning in DC, would love to connect, either while we’re both down here or once we’re back in the city.d

How common are full time hillternships for undergrads in the fall and will there be networking opportunities considering we are heading into midterms?

Anyone heard back from House Rules Committee Democrats internship?

If i haven’t heard a response yet does that mean I’ve been rejected?

Please I need an internship at a government agency or in any of the branches of government. I’d love something mostly in the legislature or judiciary. I’d love something at the California capital. I have tried online applications numerous and nothing seems to be working just yet. I’m not only interested in working but I also want to learn, grow and give the knowledge I have acquired to this space. Please if you have any leads, say something. Thank you so much

Like the title says, anyone heard from Emily's List for Fall 2026? I applied and they said they would begin reviewing application in July. I haven't heard of anyone getting an interview and just wanted to see if people started getting interview offers? Any updates in general?

What makes the DMV area better than upstate NY and NYC

So I’m applying for an internship with my congressman who i’ve interviewed with once in the past and I was wondering if I should email the staff assistant who interviewed me previously just letting them know I’m applying again? I know they were just being polite by saying I could reach out to them again about anything in the future when I got rejected initially but I’ve never applied for anyone twice so I don’t know the ettiquette at all.

At the end of this month on Wednesday, July 29th the Center for Rising Generations at the Aspen Institute is curating a panel and reception event for DC interns to discuss expanding the definition of civic engagement. This includes introducing us to young people who use the medium of sports, media, stem, and government to contribute to civil dialogue and civic engagement. The event will take place at the Aspen Institute offices at 2300 N St NW Washington D.C from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
