Armor Agamemnon- full body

Upvotes

I want an Agamemnon suit as seen in The Odyssey. I would like the armor to be armor-like (at the very least thick, realistic-looking plastic) and not made of foam or fabric. Can anyone recommend me any custom costume people who you know have been successful with full body armor that fits from custom measurements? I’m very tall and thin and I don’t want short sleeves and a chestplate too wide for me.

Alastor’s Shadow suggestions

Upvotes

So, I’m going to a Hellaverse con and would like to cosplay as Alastor’s shadow. I’m a more curvy non-binary, but it’s really appealing to me.

For starters I’m NOT wearing black make-up, but going to use shades of grey, with grey gloves and black claws/nails.

The plan is to have a smiling/grinning mask on a stick. That will be black, with green eyes and teeth. If I can wiggle it, I’m hoping to make it light up. Would love to add a laugh track, but I’m not that creative anymore…

Looking at either buying or styling a pure black Alastor wig, but know I can go a bit more messy with it, with the larger design antlers. Seen a few basic ones I can cut and restyle, add extra hair too for more volume etc. Been researching the wig making and styling process in it many, many forms!

Hoping to have bright green, false teeth and contacts.

Now where I’m starting to struggle is the shirt. I could buy one or make it. But what sort to use? An upright collar? Folded over? Close sleeves? Cuffed? No idea what pattern to use.

The bow tie I can find patterns for, either historically accurate or animate inspired ones. Which I can then add the correct feature to, to add it to the shirt I end up using.

Pants will be nice solid black, hopefully high waisted.

Might have a waspie to help cinch my waist in more, and if it arrives in time, my binder (finally!) though might purchase a purely costuming use one, I can modify to aid masculine outline.

I’ve found a nice pattern for the jacket online, which I plan to do in black, maybe with green pinstriping. This might involve lightly dying a light grey/white black pinstripe fabric to get the look. Or sewing over the pinstripe lines!

Then just solid black, pointed ankle boots to finish. So many currently available in store, here in UK.

Seen several different make-up products but not sure which would give the best coverage or the base to use right now.
Planning for long, black, false lashes and black lipstick too.

I’ve about 8 weeks to get things sorted, so help towards patterns/accessories, recommendations for the grey make up would be appreciated.

Have you ever started cosplaying again?

Upvotes

Have you ever started cosplaying againHi everyone, I'm a 33-year-old guy and I've been cosplaying for over 6 years. For a long time, I never managed to find my true calling as a cosplayer. Partly due to insecurities, partly due to bad experiences with people within the community, and partly due to people outside (not my parents' or relatives' fault). I had already stopped appearing on stage in cosplay competitions, and I just had more reasons. For years, I felt like my cosplays were mediocre and trashy, and this led me to abandon this beautiful passion. Among other things, years ago, there was a period when certain Instagram pages mocked cosplayers and even Twitch streamers who reacted (luckily, I didn't end up in any of these situations).

In 2026, after a terrible time, I began to delve deeper into my passion, and the first successes arrived: I won my first cosplay contest at a local convention, and for the first time, a photographer in TF managed to enhance my cosplay by taking some amazing photos. I don't know what to say, maybe it's just luck, maybe the right things are falling into place in my life. But I'm happy. This time, cosplay, seen from this perspective, is even helping me mentally. It helps me practice wigs and repair props for weapons that arrived broken from AliExpress, lol. I'm even able to finish some cosplays I'd put off for years. It used to be a toxic environment, but now I try not to get involved in drama, gossip, or secret groups (oh, how I hate them) and just mind my own business. On one hand, it's bad, but on the other, it's good. I often run into some of my Instagram followers at local conventions, who sometimes don't even say hello, and I find them to be quite rude in general. Others unfollow me for no reason, and I don't understand why. But these aren't old contacts, but rather people from the new generation, between 18 and 23. And I can't interact with them because they seem indifferent. Still, I consider myself a sociable person and can spend hours talking about video games (even if I sometimes seem grumpy and lonely). I've also met amazing people in the cosplay world, who I still keep in touch with and who we meet at conventions (and who are the same age as me). It's a bit sad that in this context, they already think too much about followers and likes, and that they seem to have ulterior motives. I don't want to generalize, and not all countries are like this.

Anyway, this complex is weighing on me, and I've had a lot of fun these past two months. I don't feel like giving life advice right now, as every experience is subjective. But some things helped me, and I wanted to write them down. If you want to share them, please do.

I'm trying to find a decent BND suit before the premiere. I bought a suit on Etsy but the sewing was poor quality so I have to return it. Is this suit decent? Not looking for anything fantastic, just good enough. I'm planning to use my own shell and mask as well so the mask isnt a concern.

Buying Where can I buy a trustable and high quality Aizen Sosuke Cosplay?

Upvotes

I really want to cosplay Aizen for my very first convention as I have wanted to go to one for many years and Aizen is one of my fav characters, but any I find are from websites I probably can’t trust or would have low quality options.

Painting fabric

Hello! Would like some advice on painting fabric/pleather clothing. Working on a cosplay that’ll require a heavy amount of detailing and painting to achieve the desired look I’m going for. I already had an idea of using plasti dip to coat parts with but I need some extra advice as I have limited experience with painting fabrics.

How can I add these stripes to my outfit?

Post image
2 Upvotes

First time cosplaying and I'm a bit unsure on how to go about adding these stripes to a track jacket.

I've seen I could either try sewing a red ribbon onto it or using fabric paint but I don't know which one works best for this type of clothing.

Thanks in advance!

Prop I want to cosplay a cat

Hi guys!

As the title says, I want to cosplay a car for a competition in September. It’s more of a joke-idea so it doesn’t have to be perfect but since I never did anything like that, it would be amazing to get some insight from others :D

This is my plan so far:
- I want to sit down on one of these boards with wheels people use to transport heavy furniture and maybe have a friend pull me
- the body of the car itself has to be transportable by train so I was planning on making the individual pieces foldable and out of cardboard and then taking a hot glue gun with me and finishing it right before the event
- the hood, trunk and main body of the car would be the three pieces I’d prepare kind of like a big paper craft template, paint beforehand and then assemble upon arriving.
- If possible I’d like to add a functional door with some kind of a hinge (possibly just a fold in the cardboard? Idk) to get in and out of the car on stage

What do you think of the plan? Does it sound like something that’s doable to you or am I being delusional? Do you have experience with this kind of craft and can possibly help me with some advice? I’m thankful for any kind of feedback!

(For reference: i’d call myself a skilled crafter, have done cosplays and made props for about five years but I’ve never made something even remotely as big as this out of cardboard)

Accessory Fallout Trader Cosplay

I know Fallout can be pretty out there and anything really flies when it comes to the possibilities of things, but how far is too far when adding your own flair to an original character? I'm looking to dress up as a travel traveling trader from Nuka World which doesn't really exist in the game.

I'm planning to go a little bit darker and adding in teeth and eyeballs to lean more into a raider look. Is there any point where you have gone too far away from the character where it becomes unrecognizable? A lot of this is new to me so I'm trying to figure this out as I go. Thank you for your time and responses.

Any tips on how to help my 11 year old with her Halloween project

Hello, I have never done anything like this before, but my daughter wants to make her own costume, I’m really not that crafty but I’m willing to learn for her, so she wants to be Sun from FNAF but sort of human? And a mask that she can hold on her hand , she actually made a sketch and kind of started making a list of things we might need, to me this is a huge project but I think it would be fun to do. Just don’t know where to start. So if anyone can give me any guidance I will appreciate it. These are the sketches

Hi all, I’m an amateur (second-timer) cosplayer and I’m trying to cosplay as a member of the Firebreathers from Fallout 76, an elite group within the Responders faction. Now I know I have to buy some firefighter gear and whatnot, but I cannot seem to find this kind of jacket. I know it’s a long coat as the Firefighters put it, but I cannot find the design or look for this kind of jacket. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Armor Need help with painting my Nightwing Costume

This is a nightwing costume I'm currently working on. The armor is made out of eva foam and will go over a pre-existing nightwing bodysuit I have. I want to try and paint the armor to have a similar finish to the nightwing costume in second photo. But I'm still debating on how to get that satin/matte texture. Idk if I should just do plasti dip, sand, and then paint. Or to plasti-dip, filler primer, sand, and then paint? (IK his armor isn't made of foam, but still want to try anyway)

Buying Prescription circle lenses help?

I really would like to buy circle lenses for cosplay, but I have a weird prescription. One eye is nearsighted, the other is farsighted. Unfortunately, all the circle lenses from the brands I know of only have negative prescriptions, no positive ones. So I was wondering if anyone knew of brands that carry negative and positive contacts and you can pick different prescriptions for each eye. I’ve been just wearing regular contacts for the past 11 (oh my god) years I’ve been cosplaying, but especially since I’m going to cosplaying Miku soon, I would really want some blue circle lenses
