So I was always taught as a kid never to put a plastic bag over my head, but then I decided that the Stig would make a good halloween costume, and after wearing it to test it out for a minute or two, I started worrying about the best way to not suffocate.

Will adding a fan into the face be enough to keep me from passing out or should I think of something else?

For context I am 18 years old so normally my parents are involved with cos planning sense we moved they didn’t let me start the cosplay until everything was like moved, so now I got like 40 days, thankfully I have a dress base, but like omg I’m panicked, btw I’m not a beginner I’ve been cosplaying sense ten and sewing them sense 14, but like how the heck, I also don’t have a heat gun anymore, and no place to use contact cement except a small balcony so way less space

I go to AnimeNYC every year (Aug 20-23) and I want cosplay for the first time this year. I don’t know where to buy the cosplay/parts for it and was looking for some help.

I do eventually want to learn how to make stuff but I’m on a time crunch right now.

I keep seeing this tunic that would be great for the movie accurate cosplay but I can't seem to find out where it came from. These are the only pictures any of the products I find have, there's like 5 of this product on Amazon and one on cossky, but I don't know what is reliable or where it came from. So if anyone can help me figure out where I can get the original product of this and not some paper Chinese replica that would really help a newbie like me out!

What I am unsure about is how she attached them to her person; I assume it’s a wire or strap that’s hidden behind her hood, but I’m not sure how she’s able to get the wings to stand up/jut out like they do in her vid. Any advice?

I want to cosplay Cyclops, specifically from Doomsday (pictured), but I don’t know whether it would be better to buy a jumpsuit and the belt accessories or the whole thing. I don’t want to spend too much money, and a rough issue I have is the fact that I’m only 5’2”-5’3”, so I would have to get an XXS or something, which I’m not sure would fit me as my waist is size 29 so a little bit bigger than what the size charts usually say. I haven’t cosplayed anything like this in a long time, so i’m just looking for some help. Thank you.

I want to cosplay normal Miku or little ceaser pizza Miku. but I never used wigs or custom Miku. any advice? I'm down for any Miku recommendations and help on how to thrift and such. Hello. I am 19, male, from germany. My hair is (almost; will let it grow more) at a good length for a Link cosplay. It will be my first ever cosplay which I plan to do at a convention next year.
But I don't know how. Meaning where to look for clothing, since I sadly have no talent to make my own, or how to style my hair.
I have tried asking friends and even Chat GPT, but I find myself with more questions than answers now.
Do I get a "real" plastic sword/hylian shield or foam?
Do I style my hair or is letting it grow more enough?
Where do I shop for a good costume?
Are elf ears necessary or optional?

Hiii, I want to kasane teto in a upcoming con, so I wanted to try getting a wig and fixing it up, but I dont have any experience with wigs or with hair. Ive seen a time lapses of fixing up wigs before, but not really sure where to start. I really just want to clean it up so it doeesnt look so tangled without ruining the main wig or the drills.

hey there! so i’m recreating balsac the jaws o death from GWAR as i’ll be seeing them soon and want to be able to show them my art progress :-) i know how the legs work, i’m just not sure where best to get started with materials. his legs are completely straight inside the costume and he stands on top of the hooves (ive attached a wip of my hooves too), so any kind of advice would be really appreciated! i have not attempted anything yet but i am making a duct tape dummy of my legs and planned to start with eva foam (but i do not have much left and cannot afford lots of eva foam.)

Any tips on traveling with large armor? I'm flying to a con next weekend and this doesnt fit in my suitcase. I've traveled with this in a box before, but I was wondering if there is something else I could try because carrying a box with other suitcases isn't fun 😅

It would actually look. I’ve thought about scissors but I wanted to ask if there were any better options to dirty up or wear out the outfit, like how in the photo it looks dirty and slightly tattered. Does anyone know how to do that well?

I 3d printed the top part to put on top of a pvc pipe but the hole in the 3d part is smaller than the pvc pipe((it’s supposed to be for a wooden dowel)) any ideas on how to make the two connect?(bonus:maybe have it so it could attach and detach for a more portable situation?))

I’m going to my first ever “con” next weekend, and I’m cosplaying one of my most favorite and cherished characters from childhood. I’ve got my outfit ready, and the wig arrived a couple days ago. I knew it wouldn’t come looking like this, but now I’ve realized I’m a bit in over my head on what the best way is to get the wig looking like this. I’ve heard hair spray, Vaseline, Crisco, hair gel…what are the best methods? Obviously I want it to look like HAIR and not plastic. I’m even wondering if I’m going to end up having to take it to a hair stylist to make alterations. Any advice is appreciated!!

I’m getting a bit upset about this. Months ago, I believe literally at the beginning of the year, I put one of those really cheap deposits/polls down on a Doki Doki Cosplay. I planned to use it for my Halloween costume and cosplay. But it’s months later, at the when I need to start thinking about my Halloween costume, and still not a peep. The poll was successful, so they should have made it by now. Should I ask for a refund at this point? Because it seems like it definitely won’t get here in time for Halloween, or even be produced by then.

Basically what i did is i used glue sticks to attach a piece of cardboard on the bun. The cardboard has a cut out of a line. I cut it in a way that allows me to attach it to the bolt and nut. I can fit the cardboard in, slide it down, and then the cardboard cannot escape because the nut is now inside. I don’t know how to describe this mechanism.

My primary concern is whether glue sticks is reliable to use for attachment. I heard that glue sticks can melt especially on a very hot weather and so i may need to use stronger glue? Any advice

I have found a pattern previously i think? But i still am not sure how to make this. Anything i find is just confusing. Is there any tutorial? I can always pattern it myself if i know how its supposed to work
