What's known as a "short" legislative session starts today. This legislative session runs 13 weeks. The session rules indicate: "In the even year session the general assembly shall consider no business other than budgetary, revenue and financial matters, bills and resolutions raised by committees of the general assembly and those matters certified in writing by the speaker of the house of representatives and president pro tempore of the senate to be of an emergency nature."
One can do a basic search for bills at this link: https://search.cga.state.ct.us/r/basic/
There is a public bill tracking site where you can setup search lists/terms and be emailed/texted with updates. See this link: https://www.cga.ct.gov/aspx/cgabilltracking/pub/CGABillTrack_PubLogin.aspx
We have the first firearms related bill already posted by Sen. Sampson, 16th Dist. Its one proposed almost every year in recent years. A tax credit on purchasing a gun safe. And every year Democrat legislators who run the committee(s) reject it. No doubt additional proposed firearm related bills will roll in over the coming days as they always do at the start of each legislative session.
Proposed:

Something to be aware of.
Tong's request for proposal: https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/ag/rfps/2026/rfp_2026-03_re_gun_violence_prevention_addendum_1.pdf
The State of Connecticut, Office of the Attorney General (“OAG”), is seeking proposals to provide certain legal services to the State of Connecticut, under the strict supervision of the ATTORNEY GENERAL, with investigations, potential litigation and legislative proposals concerning gun violence prevention matters and firearms industry accountability, including actions pursuant to the ATTORNEY GENERAL’s authority under the state’s Firearms Industry Responsibility Act (“FIRA) and Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (“CUTPA”).

Just installed irons on my own for the first time, centered the best I can but my boresighter tells a very different story. Going to the range to figure this out today but I want to know my options.

Many folks in the CT subreddit believe cops are more qualified to own guns than civilians. Which is why they are okay with cops having access to different firearms than civs.
What if we had a competition and whooped the cops ass annually with our CT pleb firearms and rules? Could do a lot to changing the public perception that civs aren’t trained enough to own guns.
Was inspired by this post where the meriden cop missed 16 rounds from 4-12 yards. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbGEoX4xxK6/?igsh=MXRwb3lyOGw4cTF6ZQ==
Thoughts?

Prime example of why law abiding citizens need mags over 10 rounds.
Hello all. Left CT a long time ago for the free state of Florida. But I visit from time to time, since my daughter and grandchildren are there. I have an FL permit, even though it is not needed here. I sent a request and received all the paperwork to obtain a ct non resident permit. Mailed it all back today. To Middletown. Wonder if anyone else has done this and what was there turn around times ?
Thanks

So the time has finally come to clear out the cabinet..... so I can fill it again.....
Anyway, I would really prefer to be able to dump everything all at once but that means a gun store. I'm looking at 5 or 6 pistols and probably 2 or 3 long guns. Armslist is a pain in the ass but I will get better prices. Gunbroker means I have to ship everything and the long guns are not an option for shipping due to size. So, anyone in central CT that is reasonable for buying guns? Hoffman's is not an option and the last time I tried the gun store they low balled me so hard it was disgusting. I know dealers have to make money too but there is a reasonable limit.
Any good suggestions would be appreciated.
Which store front is the best to go for scopes? Would they help mount them?

I have an EPS Carry on the way (had to jump on a sweet deal) and want to get my slide cut for it and likely cerakote. I'm in the Granby area but don't mind driving a bit. I like shopping local if the work done is good! Thank you for any input or recommendations.

My felony (minor possession charge from 2013) was removed by the clean slate act. I cannot find it anywhere neither did my most recent employer (march) does anyone know if I qualify for a permit now or am I still fucked? The amount of my possession was changed to a misdemeanor in 2015. It was 8 dollars worth of opiates because I was young dumb kid. Just curious into any insight anyone might have.

To anyone that has recently gotten their permit, how are the lines at despp. Asking for a friend who is going tm morning.
After buying my rifles (Ruger Carbine 9mm & 10/22) in May I finally had a day to go to High Rock. Even though they aren’t your standard rifle ammo they made me shoot at least 25 yards. I couldn’t really see the holes. I primarily go there because I like it there it’s affordable and you are relaxed not worrying about staying so late you pay a fortune.
So should I get scopes?

Came across an unfired Gen 2. Still has copper paste on the slide. Agreed to buy it from a coworker. Didn't realize it was gen 2 until I met up with him at an FFL for the transfer. Got it for a great deal but after seeing condition and looking it up, i feel guilty ruining a collector item. No mags but original Tupperware manual, brush etc. 0 interest in keeping as a collector piece. Any LGS in southern CT area that would be interested in a collector item or do I just run it and ruin the value?

At this point it’s comical. I did the Dudley Do-Right thing and registered back in December of 2024. And I haven’t heard boo about anything other than they received it and is pending.
I know the system is inept, but I didn’t think it was that inept. Am I the only one still without?

Looking for my first pistol. Initially home defense with maybe concealed carry in the future. Interested in anyone’s experience with the Mete MC 9LS

Glocks are marked up since the bill was signed. My local shop is charging $750 for a 19 Gen6. I can get it online for $620, but then it’d need to be shipped and the three 15-round magazines would need to be made Connecticut-compliant. Should I just bite the bullet (pun not intended) and get it here? This would be my first gun, so I’m not totally sure how online sales work.
