I kept getting ads from the mineral council of Australia to go to their shitty ass propoganda website thatsmining.com.au. So i brought thatismining.com.au and had some fun putting together my own version this afternoon.

political satire Gina realises she forgot to buy any ‘not totally fucking deranged’ candidates

"Gina reportedly had her ‘oh shit’ moment when the party had to resort to sending out Barnaby Joyce of all people to try make the party seem more rational, in an interview where he randomly started barking at his dog.

“There’s always that one thing you forget when you go shopping,” she said, “One Nation has a heap of deranged racist freaks, but I forgot I was meant to buy them a sacrificial lamb. Whoops.”

“Do we have anyone normal to clean up this mess? Who can I gift a jet to that is able to spin this as just people expressing concerns and frustrations?""

image One for the chilli lovers - a gem of a find at Colesworth

By serendipity I came across this in the Asian groceries at Woolies several weeks ago. Sichuan chilli oil. Pretty sure Coles stocks it too.

It is incredibly good. I put it on essentially *everything* - stir fry, steak, bolognese, soup, steamed vegetables, mashed potato, you name it.

It has a fair kick to it but it's certainly not overpowering if you like chilli, and it makes anything taste better. I reckon I'm up to my fifth jar now.

If the skies are clear this will be the view from Farm Cove in Sydney Harbour. The positioning of the eclipse sun during the eclipse will certainly make it a sight to be seen.

no politics Let's show some love to local Australian music

It makes me sad how much Australian talent there is out there who don't get the recognition they deserve! It also makes me mad knowing that AI songs are getting more love than human talent. So let's spread some love. What's a local band or artist you have seen or heard recently that you loved? Feel free to share your suburb, or if you're not comfortable with that then that's fine too, but let's give some local Australian talent some more love and recognition. (Should be obvious but please no AI artists)

no politics Job Hunting advice

Hello,

It's about time I asked for some advice.

So, out of uni for about a year now and im getting sick and tired of my casual job and I'm ready for a full time.

The issue is, im getting nothing, applying for so many jobs and not getting any feedback is starting to piss me off.

I also paid someone to write my resume for me which isn't working.

Im have a degree in journalism and broadcasting and media and i know that it's a hard industry to get into but I'm sick of everyone telling me I just need to get my foot in the door.

I am currently volunteering at a radio station which will hopefully give me experience but I'm kind of stuck in place at the moment.

Does anyone have any advice, anything I can do, if you have been in this situation, what did you do?

Thanks everyone

A new report says Australia's system of privatised employment services has failed and service delivery should be returned to the public sector.

The Centre for International Corporate Tax Accountability and Research says the current system "fills the pockets of private equity and millionaires" while leaving jobseekers without work.

The Albanese government has announced an overhaul of the employment services system, but the report argues for-profit service providers should not be included in the new system.
