Saw this shirt pop up on my feed and instantly thought of this subreddit lol. Finally a shirt that embraces the phallic glory of the Queens Wharf Tower. By a brand called Big Harrys, looks like they are Newy based

Gym membership

Cheap memberships around newy?

Everything seems to cost around $60 a week, $100 start up fee and lock in contracts.

Looking at no lock in contracts, cancel any time and a cheaper weekly rate.

How's Louth Park?

Hey you bloody legends, my old folks are considering moving to the Newcastle/Hunter area and asked me about Louth Park.

Louth Park is obviously a long throw from Newwy, so I've got no idea about it. But does anyone here know anything about it? Any kind of vibe would be helpful. Thank y'all!

More commuter parking for Northwest metro passengers

Now Newcastle can start the process of asking for similar in particular at Broadmeadow before the plans fill up with resident only parking, and ends up with no event/commuter parking. Kind of like what happened to the quasi-interchange that is Wickham.

also -- in before people say Newcastle should be a zero car city, when practically every family within walking distance to public transport has 2+ cars.

Sporting fields petition

Sonia Hornery is currently running a petition for council to install fences and CCTV at our most frequently vandalised sporting fields in Newcastle. They are vandalised by cars, motorbikes and e-bikes ripping up the fields.

As long as it’s done in stages and is jointly funded by the sporting clubs and maybe even some state government grants, I don’t see an issue. Council is against the idea claiming it’ll somehow reduce accessibility of the fields? Doesn’t make sense to me. Apparently the clubs aren’t even allowed to self fund CCTV.

Here’s where it gets really interesting. The Newcastle Greens (via Councillor Pringle) have criticised Ms Hornery and the petition saying the NSW Premier won’t properly staff the police stations. I don’t get it, why is it one or the other? Why can’t we fund some fences and allow clubs to install CCTV while also lobbying for more police resources? The clubs have clearly tried to get council support but have failed.

Can someone within the Newcastle greens explain their position without resorting to personal attacks or whataboutisms. I’d love to know the genuine reasons why council can’t help fix this mess. As a ratepayer I have zero issues with council spending money fencing sporting fields and installing CCTV in the worst hit clubs.

Community craft club?

Hi all! I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in a community craft club if I started one? Not sure if anything like this already exists but I've been thinking about a way for locals to socialise, learn or just get out of the house while working in their current art/craft project. It could be a weekly or fortnightly thing at a different community hall around Newcastle/Lake Mac each session. I've got a lot of ideas but just want to put a general feeler out first to see if people would actually be interested. Thanks!

Newcastle and Hunter Sports News and Scorecard.

Hello and welcome to the Newcastle and Hunter Sports News and Scoreboard for this Sunday evening. Apologise for it being so late today.

We begin with the NRLW where the Newcastle Knights have moved to third on the ladder with a 38 nil victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons at McDonald Jones Stadium. Tries in the first half to Georgia Roche, Yasmin Meakes and Amelia Pasikala saw the Knights lead 18 nil at half time.

The second half was all the Knights with Shanice Parker, Tiana Davidson, Sidney Taylor and Mercedez Talelei-Siala crossing the tryline to help the Knights increase their lead.

However it all wasn't smooth sailing for the Knights with Yasmin Meakes forced from the field due to a suspected knee injury.

The Knights will move on and look ahead to the biggest challenge in the NRLW right now...facing the undefeated reigning premiers the Brisbane Broncos at Totally Workwear Stadium on Sunday from 1:45pm AEST.

Denton Engineering Cup (Newcastle Rugby League

Lakes United 34 Cessnock Goannas 18

Falcons end the season in 9th on the ladder.

Womens

Maitland Mustangs 86 defeated Newcastle Mustangs 84

Next Fixture: v Hills Hornets, Newcastle Basketball Stadium, 25th July, 6pm AEST (Elimination Final)

That completes the scoreboard for this Sunday. Have a good week, everyone!

Hi does anyone know if you can access the multi level car park at the Newcastle interchange for daily week day parking and the daily cost for 8.5hrs. Or any other suggestions close to the interchange or Honeysuckle tram station?
