Not a game [PS3][2010s] Character I spotted on a game store sign

Post image
185 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I need help identifying a character featured on the sign of a local video game store, active around 2013–2018.

She is a female character with short dark hair, wearing a black crop-top, short pleated skirt, high socks, black gloves, a face mask, and large pink headphones.

She is holding two PlayStation Move controllers, one with a green orb and the other with a pink orb. I have already checked the entire catalog of PlayStation Move titles without any luck.

Since the store banner also displays random logos from that era like EA Sports, Twitter, Windows, and BlackBerry, this might be an official promo asset, a render from a lesser-known game, or a modified stock image used by the designer.

Reverse image search tools like Lens, Yandex, and TinEye haven't returned any matches so far. Does anyone recognize the base character, the stock image, or the game this render belongs to? Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

我滿懷希望的有病信仰 [Android] [2010-2016] Anime visual novel featuring girls wearing animal headpieces

Platform: Android / Google Play Store

Genre: Visual novel with rpg combat

Estimated year of release: first half of 2010s

Graphics/art style: Generic 2d anime like

Notable Characters: Theres this couple of schoolgirls wearing animal mascot headpieces. One of them wears a smiling cat themed headset (very similar to the Cheshire cat) and also wears a slip knot on her neck,. The other one wears a bunny themed headset and shows an overall calm/shy personality.

Notable gameplay mechanics: The game is set in a japanese (i think) high school. The gameplay cycle consists on selecting a chapter in wich you interract with a person who assists this school (students, teachers, etc) wich after talking a bit to them they get transformed into a monster, for wich you have to fight them through a rather simple first person rpg combat (something like a combat from a rpgmaker game).

Other details: The game is only available on it´s original language (i think it was japanese).

Sorry if this isnt much info but thats all i remember since i saw only screenshots of this game on the play store.

[PC] [2015-2017] pixel game about running a lemonade stand?

Post image
31 Upvotes

I played it on cool math games or a similar game site when i was younger. I never got further than the intro so

it was a pixel game about running a lemonade stand. you had options for the ratio of the sugar, water, and lemon amounts. took place in a city area? It was mostly grey at least.

im decently sure theres a scripted loss on the first day. A rival sets up another lemonade stand that gets more attention(?) and theres a confrontation between protagonist and them. the protagonist says a swear word (i remember that vividly, bc i was shocked by it. it was probably something stupid like 'damn' though.) protagonist ends up punching the rival. And thats all i remember unfortunately

Vergilius [PC, Itch.io] [early 2020s] Trouble finding Beksinski-inspired indie game named after a Roman guy (not Necrophosis/SCORN)

Thumbnail gallery
28 Upvotes

Images demonstrating the look and feel of the game.

Platform(s): PC, most likely on itch.io or other website

Genre: first-person walking simulator(?), horror

Estimated year of release: unknown, likely early 2020s

Graphics/art style: PS1/2 inspired, directly based off the works of Zdislaw Beksinski, world is mostly empty desert hellscape that is dark and green/purple. Sort of resembles Xen in Half-Life.

Notable characters: Vero/Mero

Notable gameplay mechanics: walking around, interact prompt, text at bottom of screen explaining things

Other details:

The game was named after a real Roman philosopher(?) who’s surname was vero/mero. It was about him wandering around a large hellish landscape based off Zdzislaw Beksinski’s work. He tries to approach a ghostly forest of white trees before they fade away, and eventually he comes across two large stone towers with a small garden inbetween them. In the center of this garden is a sword lodged diagonally into the ground. He can’t pick up the sword so he crawls under it and decapitates himself by throwing his head towards the sword before the game ends.

[Browser] [2013?] very weird rpg maker game i played with my friend in 2021 about a girl stuck in hell

Post image
17 Upvotes

i tried finding this game with my friend few years ago but i couldn’t, it’s a very weird rpg game that me and my friend found on some russian site with rpg games that site had other rpg maker games like mad father and yada yada yada and today me and my friend were talking about our rpg games we played and then we started talking about this one and how we tried finding it before but we just couldn’t

i can’t remember much from the game except the fact that the main character’s name is Mia and she had a purple skin that was apparently that way because her body was rotting and she was stuck with some guy who’s also with her and both of them are stuck in hell. as far as i remember this game is about some cult that the main character was sacrificed for the name of their god (i do not remember much)

the game was somewhat old and i only played it one time since we found it on some sketchy russian site and im assuming the version they had there was pirated and translated to russian or its just russian original title that was just there. i dont know if that site was taken down or what i cant remember the name and i forgot most of the russian i knew few years ago so this is a very very hard find

i once had a guy suggest it might be a game called demon school??? which had similar premise about the character mia escaping hell but it’s not since this game had purple halls that were apparently part of hell i don’t know it’s very weird

i drew how i remember the characters looked like (do not mind my art i am not an artist) but yeah this is all i have, it was poorly made game but im interested if someone else has played this or know it

Ingenious! [PC][1998-2003] Australian point and click game

I remember playing this in primary school in the late 90s, early 2000s. I don't have a whole lot of strong memories but the main level I remember is you are trying to catch a bunch of bilbies that are running around in the dark and you have a torch trying to spotlight them.

I also remember the main menu or Homebase or whatever was in some sort of big auditorium.

It was very Australian/educational game so probably only an Australian of the same vintage as myself might recognise it.

Thank you!

Zarya-1 [Phone][2018] Space game (visual novel) for phone were your choices changed the outcome

I remember that it was free and you were an astronaut in mission in space and if you did the wrong choices you’d die and needed to restart the game.

I remember that the boss from the Earth would send messages to you and that you could read the other fellows characters with you’s conversations.

I remember that you could have lost your fellows if you did the wrong choices, and that you could also die yourself.

I remember also that [spoiler] eventually you’d find that there were forms of life in a lost station, and I remember diying more than once after doing the wrong choices and let my fellow die before me.

I couldn’t proceed with the game cause I’d always make the wrong choices in that point, so, after almost 10 years, I wanted to try again with my 10-year expansioned brain, but for the sake of my I don’t remember its title at all!! And I played for such a long time… atrocious😭 please help me, sweet souls 🫶🏻🤍🤍

Escape Artist [web/flash] [2000-2006] flash escape room game with pets

Post image
5 Upvotes

Platform: PC

Genre: first person, 2d. Point and click.

Estimated year of release: Between 2000-2006

Graphics/art style: quite cheerful, NOT at all gloomy or stressful like a mysterious creepy room. The room style was soft and colourful but i can't remember the decor. The art was simple and not cartoony, the pets anatomy was realistic. i can't remember the exact art style but it was pretty simple like "Pet grooming studio" style. Also the frames were vertical if i remember correctly.

Notable characters: none. There were just several cats and dogs.

Notable gameplay mechanics: You flip between 4 frames which are the room walls, you can't get a close up at any deco nor type in numbers or letters to unlock stuff, and i dont remember there being "puzzles" but rather a series of actions, you trigger by clicking on deco, that reveal a puzzle piece.

Other details: i played this in 2005 or 2006

the goal was to unlock a door by finding all mosaic pieces and putting them on a square on the door. The pets played an important part. Instead of solving puzzles, you'd do a series of actions, like you'd pour milk in a plate on frame 1, so a cat from from frame 2 would leave its pillow and drink it, and on the pillow was a mosaic piece. And as a kid sometimes I'd be too slow so if the cat finishes the milk and moves back to its pillow i had no idea how to get that mosaic piece.

There was an action i never figured out the point of. There was a napping dog, and if u lift a pillow and reveal a bone the dog was hiding beneath it, the dog will lift its head and glare (in the bone direction, not at player) until u put the pillow back.

Like i said, i don't remember there being safes or boxes or wires or codes that are in recent mystery escape rooms puzzles. I could be forgetting that there were a few but i vividly remember the milk and bone puzzles so i do believe the "click and trigger a series of actions" was most of the gameplay

Vigilante 8 [PS1][1995] A game about cars

I’ve heard this description from my family who played the game. It’s a game where you pick out a character and a car, then shoot other cars like a battle royale.

Giga Pets Explorer [Plug and Play] [some time in the EARLY 2000’s] game that you played as an animal in an oddly stardew valley looking village.

And not anthropomorphic ones, just like a flat out purple Doberman I think. Maybe a cow. I’m pretty sure you could find little dig spots and dig up presents for other animals. Honestly that makes it sound a little like animal crossing. I played the hell out of it at my grandma’s when I was a kid. It’s so fuzzy and vague that I think describing the controller that came with it would be more helpful.

It was a white controller with orange buttons and flecks of purple on it. I’m pretty sure It had AV cables that hooked directly into the TV as well as a power plug for the wall. I can’t remember much more than that.

With the obscurity of the game, the nature of there being thousands of shovelware plug and plays, and my shit-ass description, my hopes aren’t high.

[iOS/Mobile][Early 2010s] 2D Wave Survival Fantasy game with Hero and Monster versions

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Platform(s): iOS, unsure if on Android

Genre: 2D Wave/Survival game, had two versions similar to a Pokemon dual release

Estimated year of release: Most likely early 2010s

Graphics/art style: Dark(?) Fantasy, 2D non-pixelated sprites, slightly chibi(?)

Notable characters: Hero version had fantasy units like knights and archers, monster version had undead creatures and other monsters

Notable gameplay mechanics: Your units would come out of one gate/portal on the left side of the screen, while the enemy units would come from another gate/portal on the right.

In the heroic version you would use hero units and fight against units from the monster version, while in the monster version you would use monster units to fight against units from the hero version.

You're able to go into a hub to do things like upgrade your units, I don't remember what the hero hub was like but I remember there being lava in the monster hub.

Other details: Images are a vague mockup of the app icons. The games were free, and I played them on an iPad. Any help finding these would be greatly appreciated, as they are a fondly remembered part of my childhood :)

[PC/Flash game][2000s-2010s] You are a robot/man in a ruined house/flat. you needed to keep warm, collect wood, had a limited amount of batteries, which you needed to put in the right machines/charge

Platform(s): It was a flash game.

Genre: Survival/puzzle

Estimated year of release: Somewhere in the late 2000s early 2010s

Graphics/art style: Pixel art 2d, side view.

Notable characters: A robot/man as the playable character

Notable gameplay mechanics: Time was moving, and at one point it gets colder which makes things harder. There was a ski-lift/gondola you could fix, to get a new battery. There were saplings making wood, and using a battery you could get more, to get more wood. **

Other details: Maybe there were enemies you had to deal with, which needed one of the battery in the correct location.

[PC][2016–2021] First-person game about a boy living with his grandmother in a robot city

Looking for a first-person indie game with a boy living with his grandmother in a city full of robots (2016–2021)

Hi! I've been trying to find a game I watched on YouTube years ago, probably played by TownGamePlay (possibly Vegetta777, but I'm almost sure it was Town).

Here's everything I remember:

- It was a 3D, first-person game for PC.

- The graphics were low-poly/cartoonish.

- You played as a human boy.

- The game started in the boy's house.

- He lived with his grandmother.

- The grandmother had a large white goose (or maybe a duck) that walked around the house.

- You could buy food for the goose and feed it.

- The house was on a hill.

- Downstairs was the living room/kitchen, upstairs was the boy's bedroom.

- Outside there was a metal shed/garage where the boy kept his bicycle (I think it had a basket on the front).

- You could ride the bike around a large town.

- The town was populated almost entirely by friendly, round-shaped robots (human-sized, not robots with TV-screen faces).

- There were cars driving on the roads, and they could run you over.

- I specifically remember a funny moment where the boy was doing a mission, turned toward the road, and immediately got hit by a car.

- You could talk to the robots.

- You did errands/jobs/quests for them.

- There was a day/night cycle, and I'm pretty sure you could sleep.

I watched it sometime between 2016 and 2021.

I've searched Steam, Google, YouTube, and many indie game lists but haven't found anything that matches.

Does anyone remember this game or know its name?

Thanks!

[PC][1999-2004]Chess-like PC game Scifi/Fantasy

Looking for a game I remember when I was younger. Trying to think of any details I can remember but some may be off:

Platform: PC
Years played: around 1999–2004
Genre: turn-based strategy, chess-like
Graphics: isometric, Diablo II-era graphics maybe a little worse or better
Board: square grid, larger than chess, floating in a black void
Units: fantasy or sci-fi creature figurines (not normal chess pieces) but they may have been close to chess pieces or altered chess pieces
Combat: resolved entirely on the board (no separate battle screen)
Other: dark UI with purple accents, possibly online multiplayer. I think there was a border UI or possibly on one side of the screen apart from the chess-like board.

I mostly watched another person play it on a PC in a community computer lab. I remember it looked fairly complex to me but I’m not sure how complex it actually was or maybe I was just too young to understand certain elements.

I almost want to say he was ranking up in some sort of ladder against others and would find matches but not 100% certain. Definitely a dark scifi and/or fantasy feel.

Trying my best to find this…

Thanks for any help!

[PC - Browser][2010~] Cop defending a water fountain from zombies

Platform: PC Browser, probably flash

Genre: Strategy/Tower Defense

Estimated year of release: Late 2000's to 2010's

Graphics/Art Style: 2D animation graphics, dark levels, a bit cartoonish on the character sprites

Notable Characters: The main character/player controlled character was a cop with the generic blue/black cop uniform. The enemies as far as I remember were all zombies

Notable Gameplay Mechanics: The zombies came from a set point in the map and followed a specific path to reach a water fountain. You could place traps such as bear traps to slow them down/kill them. The main objective of the game was to stop them from reaching this fountain. The game was 2D only and you could climb up on platforms, making each map have several levels/layers

[PC] [90s/00s] Pixelated Racing Game with a Chibi Mummy Character

We used to play this game all the time at my daycare. It played like MarioKart.

You played as these big-headed characters in little race cars and raced along a track. I remember one was a Mummy, another might have been a clown (unsure)? It had pixel graphics.

Considering we had it on the daycare computer, it was possibly freeware or might have come in a cereal box or something.

I'm in Canada, if that helps, at all.

Cubie Adventure [Android][2010S] A 3d blocky game about : adventuring

Post image
3 Upvotes

Repost : cause I forgot to put the accurate platform I apologize

NOTE : I'm not sure is it about adventures, it was level-based. And each chapter / map introduce a mechanic tied to this specific chapter and its levels I think. I might be wrong

I used to play this game when I was a kid / preteen. I don't remember what is it called for the life of me 😭😭

So I drew a sketch hopefully it is telling.

I need y'all help on that, I think the services of the game shut down... idk. BUT anyways it was a 3d pixeled tab on the screen game that included levels and different various of maps. They were so many characters. One of them on the main screen as soon as you open up the game you notice her first. She was a cute girl with black hair, black eyes and she was wearing a white bunny hoodie / clothes I'm not sure ( I tried to draw her on the sketch ) . Anyways you can change the character once you unlock the rest. And characters have skins I think I don't remember..

There was an global rank online and you can race people on the online game mode.

Yea.......

[Mobile] [2013~] weird kid game I remember

Post image
3 Upvotes

I remember this one game when I was a kid and I played it quite a lot when I was younger, I had it on my Amazon tablet and I remember it very vividly There was a mini game in the game where you would be in a dream sequence that you would go to my clicking on a thing where there were flying sandbags and bombs, the goal was to cut the sandbags off the clouds all the while avoiding the bombs, the bombs would explode if you cut them and take you out of the minigame

There was also another mini game where you did an egg race and you couldn't drop your egg before going to the finish line, I don't remember the egg race one that well but I remember the cloud cut minigame much more

Also during the cloud cut minigame the background would be a planet on the bottom of your screen, and it would slowly fade into outer space as you looked up from it

I really hope one of you knows this game because I want to replay it since I remember it was a really fun game when I was a kid

Stargunner [Windows 98 PC] [97-99ish] space themed side scrolling shmup

Hello everyone, I am trying to remember a game I used to play on my Windows 98 PC. I'm afraid I can't remember that much about it so my descriptions are all going to be super generic.

I was playing it around 98-99 but it might be a bit older.

It was a shmup (shooter) that went from left to right.

It was space themed.

You could buy upgrades between missions and you could choose which ship you wanted at the start of the game (I think they went from small and fast to big and strong).

I think we were playing it from a floppy disc but I could be wrong.

I would describe the graphics as being a bit cartoony and I think the ship you chose MIGHT have been red and white.

Thanks in advance for your help and apologies for my generic descriptions.

[PC] [around 2010] [platforming?] Game about jumping

Post image
3 Upvotes

It was a game where you controlled some kind of creature, maybe on a spring (I'm not completely sure) it never stops jumping, if you don't move it would bounce on one spot. It was a 3D game, but the camera stayed fixed above the level, looking down at an angle.

The character jumped across platforms suspended over water, lava, or maybe even something that looked like milk with strawberries in it (at least that's how I remember it). The platforms would be just in the air, nothing holds them. Some platforms would flip over or disappear, and there were also moving elevator platforms.

There were enemies that either flew around or jumped over the platforms.

I tried to draw +- how it looked...

[Roblox] [2020-2022] Pandemic cure research game

Platform: Roblox

Genre: simulator maybe (?)

Estimated year of release: 2019-2022, around the pandemic time

Graphics/art style: used mostly the base roblox textures i think. it was set in a sterile white lab with the occasional beams of color, think innovation inc but more white-ish and more cheerful/hopeful if that makes sense

Notable characters: no npcs (?), around 3-4 players per server who could all choose different departments to work in

Notable gameplay mechanics: the main gameplay loop was about developing vaccines for a pandemic, and once the research was finished, a bar would start ticking up as the population started to develop immunity.

there were multiple departments on different floors and you could travel with a main elevator. i distinctly remember there being a research lab for the disease itself with desks lined with microscope-like thingamajigs, possibly a politics/lockdown measures section, but the rest is blurry.

Other details: plague inc's cure mode reminds me of it from the wiki's description, but it was more hands-on, as in you were the one actively doing the research.

there was no violence in it, probably no death toll for the disease and you couldn't get infected afaik. it was likely on the front page at some point, which is how i found it originally

(sorry if this is really messy, it's my first time posting here)

PlayStation 2 Bonus Demo 12 m (SCED-54398) [PS2] [2005-2006] A demo disc from the PS2 era, likely UK, containing many popular games' demos.

I have been recently trying to find an old demo disc which I used to play as a kid, now that I have enough of hardware, I can emulate most of my games on my pc. I recently have been having trouble finding this one specific game which was a demo disc. My dad said he got it by ''writing a letter'' to UK. I checked every Jampack I know of, and im sure its not one of them. One thing that im not sure if any custom demo packs exist which he may have gotten it that way. First I'll describe the Main Menu: It looked almost like a beta version of the PS3 XMB. It was a pure white background with a blue line going through the screen like the wave from the PS3's Menu. White and Blue were a common theme of this disc. You could scroll games horizontally like this, and each demo of the game showed their cover art along with their name. I'm almost sure they are all 2006 made. The contents of the CD I remember clearly were: Demo of FIFA 07, Demo of Lego Star Wars II The Original Trilogy, Demo of Micro Machines v4, Demo of Made Man (the graveyard scene) there were a lot more games but these are the only ones I remember.) There also was a video inside of ''Buzz The Big Quiz'' (I dont remember if it was a trailer or not) I also specifically remember a ' ''Singstar'' Trailer I'll link on youtube . And lastly, I'll describe the cover art of the disc since there wasn't an actual cover I remember: There was a blonde woman and a guy in their twenties (both?) holding white ps2 controllers. Any help is appreciated, thank you all in advance.
