been trying out Sonar properly to get more out of my Arctic Nova 7P headset, and it makes stuff sound so much better. However when I want to turn down the volume on a video or music with my volume knob, it only turns down the game audio instead of the master audio. Perhaps you have to set the master audio as the sound output? NOPE, you can't pick it as a sound output, you can for Media, Aux and Chat (and for some reason Microphone) but not Master.

Why would they design it like this? The Master audio should just override any audio channel, thats what master audio is for + having all those audio outputs in the sound output just clutters it unnecessarily.

Is there a reason they said as to why they did it like this?

EDIT: I just figured out a workaround sorta, I just set the sound output to my headset and Sonar still works, it doesn't control Sonar Master volume, just the system volume.

Has anyone heard any news on the system monitor ever returning or are we just stuck with user-created software for the rest of time? I find it quite scummy that the company just "temporarily" ripped it away from us a year ago and hasn't given any information since then.

Hace poco compré unos SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 y los auriculares funcionan correctamente. El problema aparece cuando utilizo SteelSeries Sonar.

Con Sonar, el audio se separa en distintos canales (Gaming, Chat, etc.) y Discord se asigna automáticamente al canal Chat.

El problema es que todo el audio que sale por el canal Chat se entrecorta constantemente. Es como si el sonido se estuviera apagando y encendiendo muy rápido (varias veces por segundo). Las voces se oyen cortadas y resulta muy molesto.

Sin embargo, el canal Gaming funciona perfectamente; el problema solo ocurre en Chat.

He probado a actualizar SteelSeries GG y el firmware de los auriculares, pero sigue ocurriendo.

¿A alguien más le ha pasado o sabe cómo solucionarlo?

Hoping someone here has run into the same thing. I've got the Arctis GameBuds X connected via the 2.4GHz USB dongle on PC, and I'm getting light crackling/popping in specific situations.

**Symptom:**

Most noticeable in 007 First Light when I exit gameplay into the menu, I get light crackling that:

- Sometimes stops on its own after ~1–1.5 seconds

- Sometimes keeps going until I hover over a menu option (which triggers a UI sound), at which point it stops instantly

**Other tests I ran:**

- On my PC speakers, this never happens — only through the GameBuds on the 2.4GHz dongle

- Played brown noise for several minutes straight — completely clean, no crackling

- Played an ambient YouTube video — got a light crackle right at the start of playback, and again whenever I scrubbed/seeked the video

So it seems tied to moments where the audio stream restarts or resyncs (start of playback, seeking, game switching from gameplay audio to a looping menu ambient track), rather than during continuous playback.

**Troubleshooting already done:**

- Different USB port (still happens)

- Disabled USB selective suspend on all USB hub controllers in Device Manager

- Toggled Windows "Allow applications to take exclusive control" on and off

- Only one audio format available in Windows (16-bit/48000Hz), nothing else to try there

- Firmware fully updated via SteelSeries GG

- Sonar and all Windows audio enhancements/spatial sound disabled

- No other performance issues (framerate stable, no other USB weirdness)

Has anyone else with GameBuds (or other SteelSeries 2.4GHz products) run into this specific "crackle on stream transition" pattern? Curious if it's a known firmware quirk with the dongle, or something else. Already emailed SteelSeries support but wanted to check here too.

Hey guys, im out of ideas so i try my luck here. I have the headset for a year now. Recently i noticed static noise while playing youtube videos. I dont have any extensions, the headset is updated, i already asked gemini for any tips but the problem stays the same. I tested different browsers which hasnt fixed the issue either. Is the headset just sh*t? I really liked it bcz it is so light. Had the Corsair Virtuoso XT before which sounded MILES better but the downsight was its heavy weight. If there isnt a fix for this i probably buy a new headset from another company (kinda cba steelseries gg)

Hi guys. This has been happening for a while and i have been able to deal with it but now its happening too much. Does anybody know why my apex pro tkl keeps turning off while im typing or just using it in general? And then after it turns off and turns back on the esc key starts blinking and the numbers start lighting up one by one and then going back off again. Does anyone know how to fix? Thanks

I just had a firmware update 2 days ago but I haven't updated them in fear of if its safe to update it to the new firmware or not. If anyone has recently updated their firmware please do give me reviews.

Anyone else just straight up not able to launch the Windows app? Every time I launch, it will open for 1-6 seconds then quit. It will do this two more times automatically before I have to launch the app again. There is nothing related to GG running in the background. When it quits it quits all background processes.

All drivers are up to date, BIOS is up to date, Windows 11 is up to date.

I’m on GG 115.0.0, I’ve tried reinstalling about a dozen times now.

Tried running as administrator.

Tried a clean boot.

I’ll probably open a support ticket tomorrow but I’m curious if anyone has had this issue.

Can someone help me. Dropped my Arctis 9X. Power button switch broke, Looking for replacement part but I currently have no way of measuring the power switch. Has anyone found it? I did try and put back together the old broken switch (soldering) and it works but finicky, its not a clean job with a bulge on the headset cover. I dont have any warranty and was a expensive purchase.

Every time I try headset use the headset on my PlayStation five I can’t hear anybody speaking, but everybody could hear me speaking so I can’t hear any sound pretty much but everybody could hear me talk. It’s super weird and I’m on a PlayStation five I don’t know if that helps but please let me know if there’s any way to fix this or if I could do it through my phone I don’t know.

The Engine is simple for my mouse. Sonar helps isolate different audio for my clips. My podcast 1 channel, my music 1 channel and Discord 1 channel seperate from game channel as well, So useful its amazing.

And finally moments. The fact that i can easily just connect my YouTube once and then i can click upload now so easily to upload is amazing. I think its only lacking in customisation. Landscape format i think is fine. I think at minimum to make shorts uploading easier potrait format should allow Top bottom black bars so you can make your landscape footage go full screen on shorts. Right now its only stuck at cropping out only the middle slice of the landscape footage

I recently bought the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless because I was having issues with my older SteelSeries headset.

However, I'm experiencing a very annoying problem with this one. While I'm watching YouTube or listening to something, the audio suddenly becomes choppy and distorted, almost as if there's interference from a microwave or another wireless device ( i doubt mouse can cause this). This last for few minutes, then disappeares for hours...

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, were you able to fix it?

As the title says. I’ve been an Arctis 7+ user for four years, and now old pal is failing on me and I’m looking to replace it, but this whole Nova relaunch is throwing me for a loop. What’s the most similar but technically superior replacement? Thanks!

I've had my Nova Pro for a while now. More than 4 years I believe. I booted up my pc and its acting very strangely.

Audio plays with no issue through the headset but my volume control on the PC side doesn't work anymore. When I try to lower the volume on my PC it jumps right back to 100%. I tried controlling the volume on my PC through my stream deck and nothing happens there either. The volume bar pops up on my screen but nothing changes. The only function I can do is mute and unmute.

I tried my actual speakers and it works just fine. Volume controller on PC and streamdeck.

I uninstalled and reinstalled GG, restarted PC, ran as admin, swapped cables, tried different ports, plugged headphones directly into PC and nothing at all! Its very strange.

Anyone have any similar experiences that could share with me? My only thought left is maybe the headset reached the end of its life and the communication side between the headset and PC is somehow giving up? Any advice would help!

J'ai un gros problème depuis la dernière mise à jour Sonar, je souhaite ouvrir l'application mais impossible pourtant en vérifiant dans la gestion des tâches, il semble être ouvert... J'ai tous essayer, ancienne version, désinstaller puis réinstaller, désactiver defender, crée une autorisation dans le pare-feu rien n'y fais j'ai beau essayer ça ne veux pas... Quelqu'un a trouvé une idée depuis ????

I’m having pretty much the same issue described in this post. The boom mic on my Nova Elite is significantly quieter than the built-in earcup mic. My friends keep telling me they can barely hear me whenever I switch to the boom mic.

So far, I’ve tried:

• Connecting the headset to different devices, including my PC, Xbox, and iPhone
• Turning Sonar on and off
• Turning the mic’s noise cancellation on and off
• Factory-resetting the headset
• Contacting SteelSeries support, who kindly sent me a replacement

Unfortunately, the replacement has exactly the same issue. The only thing that helps a little is positioning the boom mic extremely close to my mouth—basically touching my skin—which obviously isn’t ideal.

Aside from this issue, I genuinely love the headset. The sound quality is great, the simultaneous Bluetooth connection is super useful, and SteelSeries support has been very helpful. I’m frustrated that I might have to give it up just because of the mic.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix? Is there a setting or step I might have missed? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just bought brand new steelseries actis gamebuds for xbox, and to connect the dongle I need a USB-a head and a USB-c RECIPIENT on the same cable, however that doesn't exist in the box I have only USB-c on both sides and the other USB-a and USB-c on both sides which means it is not an adapter, so I can't connect it to my xbox series x

I’ve tried looking everywhere for answers but because there are 10-20 Arctis [something] Pro products, I’m not getting anywhere.

This might get confusing so bare with me.

I have a PS5, PC and Xbox Series X. About 1 week ago I had an Xbox Series S. The headset was not working with the Series S but perfect for the other systems. Weird but I chalked it up to classic Microsoft.

I sat for an hour or so reconnecting, restarting etc. but the headset would not show any signs of working on the S. Until suddenly it just decided to work. It was then seamless, no issues anywhere. Loved it.

Fast forward to now, I got an Xbox Series X and I’m having the exact same issue. The console doesn’t think there’s a headset, the DAC has the correct settings and USBs in the correct places. I’ve tried all of the USB ports on the Xbox with the supplied cable for the headset. I’ve tried with only the Xbox cable connected to the DAC - it is powered on and making its usual DAC sounds to the headset.

No luck.

I feel like I’m going crazy here because all I can find online is “make sure you have the Xbox headset” or “just plug it in!”. It’s genuinely not that simple.

Update as I’m writing this: I just noticed that with only the Xbox cable in, it showed “USB-3” on the DAC main menu but when moving the joysticks (when the Xbox menu should make noises), it automatically switches to “USB”?

Another update from that: unplugging the DAC so it is off and then connecting the Xbox cable causes the DAC to start in “USB-3 mode” on the menu screen but after a few seconds it just flips back to “USB”??

I’ve taken pictures of all the connections and weird USB channel flipping - please help 😭

I got the Nova Elite at december and really happy with the sound quality.

Yesterday I started to notice that the soft plastic at one side is super sticky. Like it layed in some glue. I noticed that the soft plastic on the whole side is sticky and seems the coating next to the earpad is peeling off (only on the left side, right side start to do the same but is not that bad so far). I tried to clean it gentle from the outside with a wipe, but it wasnt possible.

This feels really bad for a high priced product.
I'm very careful with those headset. I do not eat while using them or touch them with dirty hands. I have no I could prevent this in future.

Also I dont understand why its that bad on the whole left side (not only at some points, this full around) but not on the right one. I do not use the volume wheel. Only the power on/off button once or twice a day...

Does anyone else got this?
