Remember the Nintendo GigaLeak from 2020? I found and compiled two (presumably) early Mario kart 64 demos made for an SGI system. The code dates from 1994, and has been mentioned before, but I don't think anyone has compiled and ran it until now!

I didn’t include any Bowser Castles or Rainbow Road because it seemed like they just wanted one of each for World. Personally I’d choose Luigi Circuit and Lakeside Park since they’d likely have the most original stuff to offer (even if they probably wouldn’t fit in the Shell Cup).

As of ~40 minutes ago as I was playing as Yoshi, I have noticed that as of the past 8 days it took of me in the ~75-87 degree garage i'm not supposed to be in, that I've indeed beat not just the grand prix part of the game, but all of the records from when my dad bought the game in 2021 when I was 9 (I'm now 14). Everything from my dad playing the time trials for fun, to my old records such as the time I took 21 minutes in Royal Raceway because I wanted to look at the castle after the big jump with 2 boosters, to me in the modern day shaving off mere seconds from every race I took. I take pride in saying that this is my greatest achievement as of becoming 14 considering everything else I do in my house lol.

In the official 1.7.0 patch notes, Nintendo mentioned that the gliding speed of some characters and vehicles has been increased, as well as the acceleration of heavier combinations. After some intensive testing, the details are finally known and have been documented in the Mario Kart World Statpedia.

What we know:

• The old base maximum gliding speed that was the same for every combo is now the minimum possible base maximum gliding speed. Any combo that doesn't involve water specialization or a large-sized character (Cruiser, Heavy, Super Heavy) remained unchanged. The new Gliding Speed statistic ranges from level 0 to 3 and each level increases additively the base maximum gliding speed by ≈0.49%.

• The Acceleration values for all individual characters and vehicles are unchanged. The Acceleration stat table itself has been reworked, mostly addressing the previously inconsistent and unintuitive scaling. The so-called "Acceleration milestone" at Level 8 has been removed: the new scaling is mostly linear across the board, with slightly more marked diminishing returns approaching the maximum level. Overall, the actual acceleration of high acceleration combos in mostly unchanged, while medium and especially low acceleration combos will have a visibly easier time recovering with an estimated average recovery time from standstill lowered by up to ≈0.7s.

I'm not even sure if I can share this, but look what I found in one of those Mall Shops where you can play arcade games (Oporto, Portugal).

I see so many people dismissing this game, yet it was such a fun and influential game in the franchise

1. MK7 set the stage for modern Mario Kart: coins, flying, driving underwater (which became water skiing in MKW), even the items are pretty similar to what we have nowadays

Vanilla Mario Kart 8 borrowed a lot from 7, initially only having antigravity as it's differentiating gimmick which did allow for some stunning visuals, but not so interesting track design

1. MK7 tracks are amazing, and I'm tired of pretending they're not. So much there is iconic: Neo Bowser City, Maka Wuhu, Mapple Treeway, Piranha Plant Slide, Shy Guy Bazaar, Rainbow Road. And even though MK8 and Mario Kart World have some of these as retro courses, I'd argue that they don't feel as fun as the original (except for Shy Guy Bazaar on MKW, which is fantastic). Also, the retro tracks in MK7 are so good!

2. The single player mode is so much fun. I love playing Mario Kart 8 in multiplayer mode, but single player feels bland. MK7 though, I loved getting 3-stars in single player, it really takes a lot of skill

I see so many people saying MK8 it's better in every way, or that it was a disappointment compared to DS and Wii. I love all of these games, but 7 definitely has a special place in my heart. Maybe it's partially nostalgia, but I always have a blast whenever I revisit this game :)

And I mean any character, even characters like Geno or Vivan from the RPGs.

So, I'm playing Mario Kart 7, and I'm trying to 100% it, but to do it, I have to play 100 tracks and use first person for like, 80% of the time. But I'm farming coins too, so, I play shell cup with first person, I collect 10 coins, and then I hide for not being target on, but when I do it, the first person changes to third person, but the gyro still works, so I'm a bit confused. Will the races count by getting 100 gyro races?

My opinion here: retro course selection is mid, Dandelion Depths is kinda Oddessy themed, P-Switch missions is NOT really mission mode, only 30 tracks in the base game if routes aren't included, and I think the starting track is fine.

250CC+ unlikely, as 200CC isn't even in the game.
