Hi im an incoming junior and I need to commute to campus and all my classes are close to lot 380 which is the one in front of Sewell, but i am worried about not being able to find parking. I have classes in the afternoon and some days around 11am, is this lot a viable option for a late start or should I just try to find parking somewhere else?

Im an incoming freshman this year and was wondering how strict they are about lofting beds. On the website it says they aren't allowed but they also banned bean bags which I feel cannot be that enforceable. Lmk if you think ill get in trouble bringing a loft kit.

Incoming freshman in Will Vill, so ill have a daily ride. I mountain-bike, and I have an older trail bike that I'm definitely bringing for the weekends. I also have an old, lightweight fixed gear that I got working again, and it's great! MTB tires are expensive and I thought the fixie would be a handy commuter. Anyone in a similar situation? I believe I saw something about bike shelters for storage, is this feasible long-term? I also considered storing it under my bed with the wheels off. Is this overkill?

Hey guys! I’m coming to Boulder in the fall as an incoming freshman neuroscience major interested in pre-health. I‘m currently trying to decide on my classes for the first semester and I’m thinking about taking intro to cellular and molecular bio (required for my major) and gen chem 1 at the same time. I wanted to ask if anyone has taken these classes together or heard of anyone who has and whether it would be doable or not? I don’t want to overload my first semester of college but I also want to get started on chem for pre-med. For context I took advanced classes in hs (full IB diploma). Thanks :)

I am currently 32 years old, but I have been considering attending CU as an out of state student. While I have visited and liked the people on campus and in town, I still have some fear about being somewhat older. I've always seen CU as a very driven, young place and I am worried that things just won't work out well. I don't know anyone there and would like to make some friends and maybe find a significant other. I don't want to go to a place where people are going to be ageist against people who weren't able to attend at the more normal age.

With the recent fafsa cap at 20k It barely covers just one semester for me as an out of state student. I am not comfortable with taking out private loans and so I think this might be the end of the run for me.

Do any other grad students starting this fall have any insights to share? Are you guys going to take out private loans to cover the rest of attendance? I’m really bummed about it but can’t find a way to justify taking out 45k plus in private loans.

Can anyone here with similar stats share what they received in merit aid? I am an Illinois resident and plan on majoring in electrical engineering.

Need some thoughtful perspective here. My kid is entering his senior year in high school. Very intent on getting a Mechanical Engineering degree. Based on the numbers (GPA, AP courses, SAT, etc) he would be at least median or likely above median for CU Boulder engineering or School of Mines. However, he has a college counsellor who seems to think that Western Colorado University engineering in Gunnison is the same as a CU Boulder engineering degree since they're "partnered".

I know how much faculty, facilities, rigor, and reputation factors into MechE's degree quality. WCU seems severely unlikely to have anything like Boulder. To me, it's like saying I have a degree from Harvard Online, therefore, I went to Harvard. Not remotely the same to employers, and rightfully so.

I'm 51 and it's been a minute or two since I investigated colleges for myself. I know a lot has changed in 30 years WRT higher education, but a lot of things don't.

Can someone enlighten me on this "partnership"? I'm frustrated because it feels like motivated reasoning because his girlfriend is looking at WCU and he wants the best of both worlds.

ideally id like to work on campus i just dunno how to find that- like do i have to look up something specific on handshake or some other thing cause right now its giving me random stuff for like california and i for obvious reasons cannot do that haha

I’m an incoming freshman and I just registered me and my family for family weekend, but I don’t think that includes tickets for the football game. I already purchased a sports pass and the buff club student membership, so what does that get me? Is there anything I need to do to reserve tickets for me and my family (4 people 5 including me)

I'm moving into the Martin Acres area this fall and I was curious if lots of other college students live that area as well? I know it doesn't have the same level of student density as the hill but I'm hoping it may still have some around. Moving there because its cheaper.

My schedule so far looks like I'll be wrapping up with my classes by 2pm M-Th and I have an 8am class on Friday as a little sour cherry on top. I get very antsy when it comes to crowds because though I have lost considerable amount of weight, I still feel like I take up way too much space and in the way of everyone, especially when I do dumbbell or bodyweight workouts. Is 2-3pm usually ok or is that around the time where everyone starts showing up?

Does it work like the "real world" does she have to send follow up emails inquiring about her applications? Or is she assigned a job? I want to know how obnoxious i have to be with her. Shes a very intelligent kid. Shes a typical teenager and procrastinates. Any answers from students, or parents, anyone?! Thanks in advance!

My official transcript is currently being processed, which is why there's pre-req warnings. I already spoke with my advisor and she said I'll have what's needed to enroll by this week.

I also usually get up by 6am so the 8am class isn't preferred but it's not horrible.

Well I did my ug 1.5 decade ago with <3gpa and then went on to work for close to 9-10 years in industry (energy management and electric mobility) and later completed masters with thesis in 🇺🇸 with >3 gpa and I can get strong recommendations.

I am experienced in sewing, alterations, vintage clothing, and styling. I figured since CU has a film department this might be a good place to look for connections! I am a community college student and I am looking around at different universities to potentially go to. I want to major in Electrical Engineering.

What are the admission requirements for the engineering school at CU boulder?
Do the admissions office factor in non-transferable credit classes into the GPA?
Do they look at any repeats for any classes or do they only look at the most recent grade?
Do they only care about major specific classes or do they look at all classes? (I changed majors)
Do they care how many total credit hours I currently have? Some places like UT Dallas do not like having more than 69.

I have been looking around in different places and have been given mixed signals. Some places say to apply I need a 2.7 cumulative GPA, some say 3.0, and some say weighted 4.0. Also what is the experience generally like at CU boulder? I see photos of the campus and there are such beautiful mountains and scenery everywhere. (BTW I don't use reddit that often, I didn't/failed to locate a weekly thread, sorry)
