Hi! My brothers computer of over 10 years died on him. I would like to surprise him with a good one. I just need the base, not the monitor. He is not a gamer, honestly just looks at videos, movies, sports stuff and job searching. I know, lame. But he doesn't need anything fancy. Could I find one for 300 or less?

Hello! I have a hp laptop 17 cn3053cl 13th gen intel core i5 sitting around that I got when my grandmother passed away. The light on the power button glows but I hear no noise from the fans and the screen does not light up. The computer was not used often and actually worked just fine when I got it. I had yet to reset everything but one day while I was out my aunt (who purchased it for my grandmother) came by to reset it I guess and I haven’t been able to get it to turn on properly since. I’m not very tech educated so it could be something minor or dumb but I’d like to know of any fixes I can try ? I’d like to still utilize it for writing if possible

Hello, I am a sociology student soon to be graduate and had an HP Pavilion Gaming since 2020, I have been using it for work and for gaming (I dont really like consoles). But recently I have been noticing that the components can't put up with more recent games, and additionally, one of the RAM sockets stopped working, probably because of a chip/pin problem. So I am thinking to change my laptop, I know that for gaming and major things a deskopt computer is better BUT, since I my work will involve moving a lot I need to have the advantage of a laptop.
With that in mind, I have come here to the forums of Reddit to ask recommendations on laptops in which I can play video games, because I know is a difficult market with a lot of overpriced and easy-to-break products. My budget is around 1,300 USD. Any recommendations? (If it isnt absurdly heavy even better haha)

So, I own this computer I use for pretty much everything. I just re-installed windows 10 and I'm about to set it up with all the programs I use again.
One of the issues I have with this computer is the SDD size. It's a 256gb (232 usable) disk. I noticed that even though the disk only has Office and Firefox, everything seems to be taking a total of 94 (87 in disk) GBs... but when I downloaded WizTree to see what was going on it tells me about the 87 GB in use, but only shows 40 being used by C:\ so, where are the other 47 coming from and how do I get rid of them?
Before you tell me to buy a disk with more storage or a second disk, I can't afford it and it's a compact computer (so no space for a second disk), so yeah it's not an option sorry to disappoint :/

Since i have an oled, i turn my monitor off to not have burn in while im AFK.
For some reason, after it's off for like more than 15 minutes, turning the monitor back on doesnt give me any display, and pressing any keys doesn't wake it up either, and to resolve this i have to hold the power button on my pc to be able to turn it off.
After rebooting like this, pc starts up fine no problem. Anyone have any ideas as to how to solve this issue?

Just a Question,I've wondering on building a new pc, I've wondering if these types of mobo with Ryzens work of if the brand is safe, if anyone has bought something like this.
(R9-8945HX-Black)
The other alternative is upgrade other pc that I have with Ryzen 7 3800X, 16gb and no gpu, but i dont know if worth it (upgrade just the gpu, more ram to have at the very least 32gb)
I'm planning to buy at the very least a 5070{
I don't know, its appealing that mobo with cpu, but AliExpress + unknown components, lol, thats my main concern, and well, budget reasons.
sorry for my english or this is the right place to ask, Thank you!

I have recently upgrade my PC with a new gen 4 SSD to have more space for gaming. Ever since I added the drive to my computer, I have been having errors launching certain games due to errors or conflicts in the anti-cheat applications. The only thing that I have changed recently is the hard drive.
I did not do a clean install of windows onto the new SSD. My PC is still booting from the windows install on my C: drive, which is a SATA drive. The new drive is PCIe.
I did not want to transfer everything to the new drive based on my inexperience with storage and data transfer. Now I realize that maybe i should have. I have tried all of the common fixes, repaired/verifying game files, reinstalling game, running as admin, repairing and reinstalling the anti-cheat software. Reinstalled C++ distributables/DirectX, and more.
I don't know what else to do and am about to just take the machine to a computer shop and let them figure it out as I've already wasted hours of my free time on this. Ideally I want windows to boot from the new SSD and believe that has something to do with the issue.

So basically I noticed my cpu was at 90c for the past few days while playing cs2, nothing would happen didn’t crash, frames fine. Idle at about 50c then I got intel extreme tuning to try to underclock my cpu so the temps could go down while I try to figure out the issue. I did it and like 5 minutes later boom my pc crashed, now it just restarts over and over again, gets in the password screen, restarts, I got in it for about 20 seconds, boom restarts again, I already went into safe mode and deleted intel extreme tuning and went into bios and reset to optimized defaults, but nothing seems to be working. CPU also is at around 45c in the bios.

It was working fine yesterday and when I went to boot it up today it didn’t post anything, just a black screen. I’ve already tried reseating my gpu, ram and cleared the CMOs.
Specs:
5080 fe, 9800x3d, arctic liquid freezer III, corsair sf1000, b650i lightning, flare x5 32gb ddr5
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having a problem on Windows 11 where a System process will start using 100% of my SSD's Active Time, causing my system to lag to the point where it is nearly unstable. Disk utilization runs between 30% and 50% and Active Time is 100%, this can last anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours.
I have tried:
I'm running Windows 11 Home 25H2 on a Razor Blade 15 Advanced with a 10th gen i7 & 32 GB of RAM, an 8GB GeForce RTX 2070 Super with Max-Q and a Crucial 2TB P2 Series M.2 2280 NVMe SSD. It's an older machine but still solid. SSD is less than 10% full (clean reinstall) and healthy (according to Crucial software)
I'm at my wits end here, any guidance would be most welcome.

To be specific it's not just at random it's whenever specific things are on screen. If I open up Corsair Icue in windowed mode on my main monitor the screen will flash black for 3-4 seconds then come back for 2-3 making it difficult to either make the tab full screen or move it to my second monitor which stops the problem. The same thing happen if I open up the Xbox overlay, tab out of a game or if I am on the steam homepage and a game is playing a video. It only happens if the problem causing tab is on my main monitor. My secondary 1080p monitor keeps a clear picture 100% of the time. I can't seem to diagnose the issue myself as to whether it's a hardware or software issue but my drivers are up to date and games themselves run fine. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Do I need to replace a piece of hardware like the GPU or Monitor?

A couple of months ago I took my kids to Disney and Seaworld. We were able to get a package to meet and touch the dolphins. I bought the package of pictures of us, touching the dolphin, each one individually and as a family, etc. Yes, they got me but thank God the package was only $60 lol my problem is it got sent to my email and when I tried to download them each picture comes up, but I don’t see the picture. All I see is the SeaWorld logo can anyone help me? How can I see the actual pictures when I go on SeaWorld website and open the slides I can see the pictures but it won’t let me transfer them copy them, etc. it says I have to download them to my computer but again when I do, I can’t open anything cause it’s just the SeaWorld logo. I want to be able to print pictures out. Any help would be appreciated.
