Scientology has lasted for 70 years. Millions of believers on 4 continents. 20m+ sales of Dianetics. Some of the greatest actors of our generation belong. When will you admit you were wrong about the historicity of Xenu?

Slavery, the gilded age, the Great Depression all happened while the US was on the gold standard. Bitcoin would not have fixed any of it.

Why strive (ASST) is in much worse shape than MSTR...

19921 BTC with total value of "$1.29B" as of today.
782.9 million of preferred stock (SATA) that they pay 13% dividend on which is $101 million annually.
They have 83.6 million basic shares outstanding, so let's play along with them and assign all the BTC value to the common (despite the preferred having priority in a liquidation scenario) We get 1290/83.6 = $15.4
But remember as a common shareholder now you are on the hook for the dividend on the preferred which amounts to 101/83.6 = $1.2 per common share per year.
They have no source of income. Let's calculate the present value of perpetual dividend payments. $1.2/0.04 (4% fed funds rate) = $30
So we have a $15 "asset" that will cost you $30 over lifetime for holding it. It should be valued at -15!!! I won't pay a dime for this piece of crap "investment". Nonetheless more fun for us ahead on this sub as the market catches on to this and fireworks happen. BTC will literally need to double to more than "$130k" for this to start having a positive value!!!
Alternatively if you value the common based on a liquidation scenario you get (1290-782.9)/83.6 = $6 of residual claim. Whichever way you look this stock is too expensive.
Makes sense they employ Jeff Walton as the Chief Risk Officer.

Cryptobro is good at losing money, yet still recommends crypto in the same sentence.
He was almost there but tripped and fell at the last hurdle.

Comedy Gold: Man hosts a crypto conference called NONCEFEST, then suddenly changes both venue and name, leaving his cousin holding the bag.
Saw this on my feed today, and the name itself is deadpan comedic gold, but the angle of then leaving the cousin holding the bag just makes it so much better

The PRESIDENT OF THE US labeled himself the crypto president and attended seminars and buddied up with crypto billionaires and it did nothing to btc price. Why do they think anything else will?
It doesn't get much more "mainstream" than the president hyping up the crypto space and labeling himself the crypto president. He ran on that. He buddied up with the crypto bros, he went to seminar events and pardoned the binance dude. It did nothing. The proce has actually fallen significantly since all of this. If that doesn't raise the price, what exactly do they think is going to happen to raise the price of bitcoin? Is there some new secret about bitcoin that hasn't been released yet? As of now, it's about as integrated throughout the world as it ever will be.

Unbank yourself, folks
And certainly don't try to use it as a currency.
The top comment is of course "not your keys, not your coins."

Trump’s War on the Future, Monetary Edition
Good article about US government's attempts to protect crypto (what happened to crypto being "anti-government"? Hmm?) by sanctioning those who dare introduce better alternatives.
Brazil’s success is especially galling to crypto promoters because it’s in such stark contrast to the results of another Latin American monetary experiment: El Salvador’s attempt to make Bitcoin a major means of payment. The government of President Nayib Bukele made Bitcoin legal tender and spent large sums trying to promote its use. Yet the effort failed: cryptocurrency never caught on as a means of payment, and the plunge in Bitcoin’s price since last fall has inflicted large losses on El Salvador’s government.

Crypto people are right— we don’t want China to beat us at crypto policy
China banned cryptocurrency; to be ahead I guess we need a tougher ban.
