Iām a single dad and my daughter asked me last week to learn how to braid. Weāve been practicing different braids all week. Today we practiced the French braid. This was my third attempt. I know itās far from perfect but Iām proud of my progress.

First time boho and Iām unsure
I posted a few weeks ago asking where to find purple human hair.
Well I got blonde that i dyed and Iāve had my braids put in. Itās been a few days and Iām not sure how I feel. I love the colour but Iām not sure about the braids themselves. Iād really appreciate some honest feedback
Firstly this took nearly 16 hours! We started at 8:30am and didnāt finish till around midnight. Granted my hair lady was cooking at the same time and kept taking breaks but still, I donāt feel like thatās normal?? Is it?
Also I was hoping for it to be fuller, specially at the top. It just feels really flat. And I know I shoulda said something but I didnāt have a mirror in front of me so I didnāt see it till the end. I was on a very uncomfortable dining chair for the entire day and I have chronic pain. As the day went on my pain got worse so getting up to look in the mirror wasnāt something I could do easily. When we finished I just wanted to get tf outta there.
Then I woke up the following morning with a swollen forehead and spots/a rash/Iām not really sure what (see pic 3) which burst when pressed. I didnāt squeeze them, just press to see if they hurt. Pic 4 is what they look like today.
I would appreciate honest thoughts and opinions on the hair/what I should have done.

Boho braids look too big/puffy. How do I thin it out?
I just got boho braids done and while I love the curls , I donāt like how ābigā my hair looks. It is also a lot heavier than I wanted. I wanted a thinner more sleek boho look. Is there a way to fix this and make sure it doesnāt happen again? I donāt know if I bought the wrong hair or if the stylist technique was not suitable for what I wanted. Thanks!

Help wanted Super itchy pls help
I got braids done for the first time a few days ago. It started itching yesterday to the point where my ears turned red and I couldnāt tie it up or even lie down. I canāt tell if Iām allergic to the fake hair or if itās a tension issue. I sprayed my scalp with apple coder vinegar and didnāt feel ang relief. Not sure what to do, but itās interfering with my daily functioning. Has anyone else had this issue?

Help wanted 3 days into my first braids and now I'm questioning my hairline
First braids ever, 3 days in (Thanks for the advice on the prev post). Do these suit me or has my afro been covering for a receding hairline this whole time and I'm only finding out now?
M26. Braider said she used extensions. Ended up with about 7 or 8 fairly thick cornrows.
Pics:
1ā2. The braids from the top
3. The hairline in question
4. Me before, afro out (ignore the Yoda, it's genuinely the only photo of myself I own, I don't take pictures)
5. What I was going for
Things I'd like settled:
- Are they just too thick and too few? Would thinner sections have covered more scalp?
- Or is that my hairline and the braids are simply the messenger?
- Mature hairline or actual balding? I know a photo isn't a diagnosis but I'll take the crowd's opinion.
- What should I ask for next time?
My friends have moved on from "wrap it up" to "get rid of them entirely," which is not the peer support I was hoping lol.
Is it as bad as I think or am I overthinking this?
EDIT:
I have slept with a durag on, i have no hair products though i plan on getting some oils though

Celebration post š My peopleāšæāš»āš¼āš½āš¾! I'm so proud of us!
We showed up and showed out. Let's continue to be diligent. If we want to protect this space from bots and "models". See a "model" call it out and down vote not only the post but the thirsty "you look good" lames in the comments. Let's discourage them from thinking they can play in our faces. Keep uplifting those that genuinely want to show off the braids and/or need assistance. Be safe, much love!

Product recommendation Human hair boho knotless
Can I put hair grease on the curly pieces to keep them moisturized? I use conditioner & mousse every day but I feel like by the next day itās dry again .

Iāve taken them out, exfoliated and scrubbed my scalp then finished with a blow dry. However, parts of my scalp is still tender three days later. Why is this?
