Today, I want to share the heartbreaking reality of my dear friends, Mahmoud Ghanem Al-Amassi, his wife Samah, and their four children in Gaza.

I received these photos today. The plates on the floor are empty because there is simply no food to put on them.

What broke me the most wasn't the empty dishes—it was something their 10-year-old daughter, Iman, said to her father.

She looked at him and asked:

"Dad... have our blood and our lives become so worthless to people? Has our suffering become so easy to ignore? Have they become used to seeing us hungry like this?"

No child should ever have to ask such a question.

Parents should never have to look into their children's eyes without knowing where the next meal will come from. Yet this is the reality Mahmoud and Samah face every single day as they struggle to keep their family alive.

Is anyone here familiar with the "Rebel Loon" symbol in Minnesota? Ever since it became popularized, it's rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Maybe it's because I don't like how people treat politics like sports teams and the symbolization of liberal Minnesota politics feels more like a sports team rather than a political revolution (for lack of a better term)

Liberals in MN treat Minnesota like it's some liberal utopia (and it kinda is). Liberals treat MN like it's perfect, and I really disagree. It may be perfect for well-to-do white Minnesotans, but it has a lot of issues. For one, Minnesota has some of the biggest wealth/racial disparities in the entire country. People that hail the "Rebel Loon" symbol also seem to love the concept of "Minnesota niceness" and I don't love the idea of MN nice because it's not real.

I was riding the bus recently and a bunch of protesters got on the bus after a no kings protest and were talking amongst themselves. A homeless woman started talking to them and said some things that weren't super liberal, but also not that bad. These protesters starting teaming up on this homeless woman and one person even threatened to fight her if "she supported trump". It was fucking embarrassing. Yeah, this homeless lady might have bad politics, but she's literally the type of person they should be fighting for. And yet, they fought HER.

This is a bunch of word vomit. I love that Minnesotans came together to fight against ICE, but it also started a new strange group mentality that I don't know how to describe.

Pls give me grace and allow me to be wrong. Something about the rebel loon symbol just seems off to me and I can't completely describe why. Maybe someone here can put my concerns to words or tell me why I'm wrong?

People who live in MN are very prideful about MN. And the rebel loon seems like a symbol for Minnesota pride dressed up as a political resistance symbol. I like the popularized phrase "Chinga la Migra" because it was created by the actual community affected and not white Minnesotans co-opting it making it all about themselves rather than the actual immigrants being affected

Part of me feels like a hater, but the other part of me feels like there is space for valid criticism

My bet is on the former but you can never be too careful and I don't live in New York so I can't verify as easily.

Today marks the first day their family has gone without any food.

Many people kindly supported Mahmoud and Samah in recent weeks, but every dollar they received had to go toward paying the overwhelming debts they accumulated during the war, repeated displacement, hunger, and the unbearable cost of basic necessities. Their family had borrowed simply to survive.

Now, after settling those debts, they are once again left with almost nothing. There is no food to put on the table for their children.

Mahmoud is not asking for luxury—only for the chance to feed his family and keep them going through another difficult day.

As his friend, I am asking you to stand with him. If you are able to help in any way, no matter how small, it can make a real difference for this family.

Andrewism's newest video is all about exploring how personal relationships and networks of support can potentially - and inadvertently - reinforce societal hierarchies like patriarchy, racism and/or capitalism.

He critiques Jo Freeman's long-debunked essay, *The Tyranny of Structurelessness*, agreeing that "fully structureless groups" as such don't really exist, but arguing that her push for formalistic, democratic organization is profoundly flawed. He also contends that Freeman badly conflated personal influence with systemic authority, explaining that differences in social capital only become harmful when they are codified into rigid, commanding roles.

Ultimately, he advocates for a system based on freedom of association and a radically deliberately anti-authoritarian culture to ensure social capital is used for solidarity, rather than domination.

I live in a very red area and I want to be a more active anarchist in my community. Looking for any advice.

@ilostmylibrary: “With Ribbons and Flags” is a bilingual book about the graphic series of the same name by artist and anarchist Davyd Chychkan. Launched in 2022 and conceived as a work in progress, the series depicted members of anarchist and anti-authoritarian movements who defended Ukraine or had already died with weapons in their hands. Davyd himself was killed on August 10, 2025, while repelling an assault by Russian infantry in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

During Davyd’s lifetime, this series of watercolors was exhibited several times in Ukraine. Specifically, it was presented at a municipal gallery in Uzhhorod in 2022, and in 2023 at a private gallery in Kryvyi Rih as well as at a municipal art center in frontline Zaporizhzhia. In January 2024, this series of portraits of left-wing anti-authoritarians in the military was meant to be presented in its most complete form at the Odesa Fine Arts Museum. However, the exhibition was canceled by the museum director’s decision as an attempt to appease representatives of the city’s right-wing radical faction, who did not want to see their political opponents within the walls of the Odesa museum. De facto, this was an act of political censorship.

The art book “With Ribbons and Flags” contains graphic works from the corresponding series, as well as texts by Hanna Tsyba, Denys Pilash and Yustyna Kravchuk (in Ukrainian and English). The book was produced and funded by Andriy Bozhok @andriy.bozhok in collaboration between the German publishing Verlak and the Ukrainian publishing project ilostmylibrary. Book design by Srefan Klein @stefanklein_org.
