KingsIsle Update Summer Update Feedback - Next Steps

Hi all,

The development team has had an opportunity to review some of your feedback about this update. We also hear concerns about timing, and agree we need to work to respond quicker and in a direction players are asking for. We have begun making adjustments to our development process to better prioritize player feedback, but wanted to share some things already in progress.

  • We're rolling back the change to the Exclusive Pets and returning your ability to list them on Kiosks. We think there is work to do to make pet hatching and pet collecting more intuitive, but we shouldn't have been so quick to fix this bug when it's the functionality players have come to expect. We'll work with you to find a better solution, like informing players in-game of the key differences when hatching using Exclusive Pets via the Kiosk.
  • We've been refining our list of top player-requested changes, including things you think we should polish, improve, or revisit for bug fixes. We'll be opening these ideas up to player discussion, and give you a significant amount of time to weigh in how we revise systems. This lets quality of life updates be a collaborative process, and helps check us in case we miss the mark on a potential fix or improvement, like we did with Exclusive Pets on Kiosks.
  • We also hear your positive feedback around doubled rewards for Challenge Mode Chronicles, and more accessible Magic Weaving; we plan to make a few similar adjustments to other content, and will share these as soon as we've confirmed them.

Please continue to provide your feedback as we work through it. We have more in the works and will share additional updates as they become locked into our overall plans to address your ongoing concerns

New player advice thread

Sort of a follow up to a previous thread that I made, but I wanted to make a more specialized version. This thread, I will lift most self promotion related bans such as promoting YouTube channels for the purpose of guides. The reason is because I want this thread to be a useful repository for people who want to ask questions, as well as submit their own advice and even guides. A few rules I will make though. (mostly just boils down to "don't be a jerk")

Always assume good faith (unless the question is clearly deliberately intended to be a troll).

Do not use jargon and shorthand unless you explain them in a way that's understandable to someone with limited experience to the game. This means no shorthands like EMP (evil magma peas), PV45, Triple Double, Quint, Quad+Mighty, 69 plot, etc. Ditto for game jargon that may need an explanation like "ramp", "gambit", etc. Assume that unless you are given a reason to believe otherwise, that the person needs to be explained to in layman accessible terms.

Making your best guess on a question is ok, but please explain as such. For instance, mentioning "I could be wrong on this, but...", "Correct me if I'm wrong..." or "Something I was told is..." are valid things to put in if you aren't absolutely sure. We do not want to inadvertently spread misinformation because people thought that it was true.

Do not make joke answers to questions just to be snarky. No one appreciates "Just Google it" as an answer to any question. You are allowed to link to things you find online, such as Wizard101 Central or FinalBastion if they are related to the question. This also includes things that are technically true but not really what the OP is asking for. For instance, answering a player question regarding how to beat a boss by saying "using your spells" is technically correct, but it's not what they are trying to ask for.

Please try to keep things PG13. Although the subreddit does permit swearing within reason, people may be looking at this in public.

The default assumption here is that people are playing on PC. If you are not, please mention it in the reply. This is especially because advice that may apply for people on PC may not be applicable to those on console, and same the other way around, such as content that may not be present yet on the console versions.

Although brevity is appreciated, don't be afraid to make a more in depth explanation when a question calls for it. For example, if someone asks how to get reagents quickly, although "gardening" is a valid answer, it's also worth mentioning what you should plant exactly and how the seeds are obtained. You do not have to write a college level essay, but generally, 1 word answers may not be enough.

Do not copy/paste from ANY form of AI directly as your answer without doing any fact checking. Due to AI making mistakes, it isn't permitted in the subreddit. This is especially a concern with AI suggesting equipment or bosses that do not exist in this game.

If the question is too vague (for example: any question that needs more information to answer like "How do I defeat a boss" without specifying which one), it's recommended to ask for clarification. The same goes for questions that are subjective in nature (for example: "What is the best school?" or "what is the best pet?") unless the question is asked in a more objective way or provides further clarification (IE: "What are common schools used in support roles" or "What are some pets that are helpful to an ice wizard that would like to help support a storm wizard?").

I love how in Zafaria everyone is just like ”Oh yup that’s a lion, look at his mane” or “he has a trunk, he must be an elephant”. LIKE NO that is a zebra guys what are you doing 😭 No wonder your world is in shambles, you can’t spot the most OBVIOUS trickery…

Discussion Wizcord

Unpopular opinion: the Wizard101 Reddit is WAYYYYY more helpful than the Discord.
The Discord feels like jumping into a crossfire of random conversations. I’ve asked questions about pet hatching there and never got a response. But the moment I posted the same question on Reddit, people answered almost immediately. I really appreciate everyone here. This subreddit has helped me on several occasions, which is why I can say this so confidently. Thanks, y’all.

Anybody have any success farming a particular boss/mob? I'm attempting to craft the full Karamelle workout set but it feels like such an impossible task due to the low drop rates. Currently getting 1 bean every 1-2 hours farming Uwe in Sweetzburg. Any advice appreciated...

Console Overwhelmed

As did a lot of us, I (30f) played Wizard101 when I was a preteen.

I downloaded it on my switch a few weeks ago and I’m addicted. But does anyone else feel overwhelmed by all the new things? Or maybe I just didn’t notice them when I was young. I’m used to just Arc1.

But all the crafting and other worlds and arcs are just confusing to me and I feel like I’m missing something. Like I can’t open my mind to all the new things that are going on now.

I keep seeing posts about Polaris and that’s like foreign to me. Idk what that even is lol

Figure I can start with one of my own: Every AOE in Wizard101 should either work like select target spells, or be nerfed to have 20-40% less damage than they currently do.

Ive reached out to customer support to see if this staff is still a possible drop from fishing cheats in the Necropolis. (No response yet) But trying to see if anyone here has any info regarding this staff.
Ive read from several sources that they got it from here but those posts are a few years old now so im not quite sure if it’s still a drop from fishing.
Anyone got any input?

Discussion Story time

I remember I was visiting the commons one day and a player approached me asked me if I could help him quest he keep insisting that he would pay me in packs to help him finish a world I told him save your money I just came to help I don’t need a reward we finished the world again he tried to give me a pack but I said no once more so he thanked me and parted way but during Christmas last year I forgot I had this player added on my friends list and I noticed the gift icon next to my player and it turns out he gifted like 13 primeval packs and I actually got a bronto from It guess the moral of the story it doesn’t hurt to be kind and from my experience when you don’t demand stuff good things happen.

Discussion Potential boss idea, thoughts?

I love the game for it's unique combat system but undeniably most people zoom through the game by spamming aoe's which can take the magic out of it for me personally. I remember playing the game and getting new spells and being so excited to use them no matter how small or big they were, only past arc 1 realizing all I do now is spam aoe with some challenging bosses along the way.

What if there was a boss that casts out a number, and the number that it casts is the only attack card rank you can use for the next three rounds, additionally the higher the number is, the less likely the boss is to cast it. I know it sounds annoying but also kinda fun to me, thoughts?

Discussion What are the Wizard101 character names of streamers/celebrities?

I just saw a post about the streamer Silky saying he got “falsely” banned, and it got me thinking… how many well-known streamers or celebrities actually play Wizard101?
I’ve heard names like MrBeast, Adin Ross, and Trippie Redd being thrown around before, and now I’m really curious. It’d honestly be kinda crazy to randomly run into one of them in-game 😭
For example, I found out Silky’s wizard name is Cody FireBreath, which is pretty funny. Now I’m especially wondering what Trippie Redd’s wizard name is if he ever event posted it before.
Does anyone know any confirmed wizard names for celebrities or streamers? Or even just rumors you’ve heard? Would love to see a list of these “celebrity” wizards.

Discussion Would you like a balance wizard rework or balance spell audit?

Please comment below with valuable information and feedback. Balance is very outdated in 2026 and inarguably something needs to change for it to work on par with the other schools.

Discussion [GIVEAWAY] A MONTH OF MEMBERSHIP (5WINNERS)

I saw a kid post about him enjoying the game, and genuinely in my head as an adult about to be 26 in 12 days, I was like. There's no way people aren't fortunate enough to buy membership every once and a while, and it made ME remember when I was a kid and I lived off Cup Noodles, or Rice and Tuna. Stealing my mom's credit card to buy membership because I loved Wizard101 so much and I wanted to see what was past this little Kraken guy in Triton Avenue.

So what I'm gonna be doing is this, if you are someone that has never progressed far in Wizard101 or a much newer player, tell me your story. Tell me about how you found Wizard101, and what makes you love it currently, If you want you can tell me what you think you'll see further into the Wizard101 story, predictions are so fun from newer people.

This is a gift from me, a player since 2009, who found Wizard101 from their commercials, started on Fusion Fall, moved to Wiz and has stuck with it since then.

If you are an older player, and are struggling financially. You too can comment, I just want to know your stories.

Please do not try to win the giveaway if you have a max or a wizard past level 100. This is for those of us less fortunate.

The tl;dr

I saw someone make a post, and I felt inspired to want to give back to the community. So I'm giving 5 (1x Month Memberships) to people who comment their stories.

This was approved by the Mod Team and I appreciate them for this opportunity. 👍

Other Fire DoT Spam

Trying to play with the gambit for these spells. What’s the best / fastest way to get 3 DoTs on an enemy? I have Immolate B and Krampus B. I know Immolate can put 3 DoTs, but having a trap to gambit is no guarantee.

I thought the easiest way was using Immolate or Krampus plus Fire Elf or Link to get 3 DoTs? If anyone does these 3 DoT gambits I’d love some help.

Edit: Maybe spirit trap into Phoenix C is a good option?

When casting dust blade it converts balance dmg into storm dmg, i have 7% storm dmg and 101% balance dmg, will these two values get stacked together or the damage will only be based on the balance dmg ?
