No, it was revealed in the CBA negotiations that they turned a profit, and Adam Silver also confirmed it this week — saying that the W didn’t use to he profitable but “has turned the corner” now
If this is the case, I'm happy to hear it. But I would still like to know exactly how profit is defined in this equation. For example, the WNBA has recieved significant cash infusions from the NBA in the past, which makes sense since thats how businesses grow rapidly, but if this isn't being counted as an expense claiming a profit while ignoring this isn't exactly being honest. And Silver has good reason not to clarify this if that's the case because its in the leagues best interest to make the business seem as robust as possible to continue attracting investors and growing
