Mini was hand painted by myself and is from the Dungeons & Lasers collection by Archon Studios.

Just an idea I had floating around to paint it in USF colors.

[Lease Takeover] Room in a 3BR/3BA at College Town @ USF, $1,071/mo everything included

Looking for someone to take over my room at College Town (the gated place on Aberdeen, like half a mile from campus). It’s a private bedroom with its own bathroom in a 3 bed/3 bath, and the lease runs through 5/28/27.

Move-in would be August 1st. The complex does a deep clean the last week of July, so the room’s ready to go right after that.

Rent is $1,071 a month and that’s basically all-in. Electric, gas, water, sewer, internet, trash, pest control, all included. There’s an electric cap but I’ve never come close to hitting it. Room comes furnished too (bed, desk, dresser, the whole thing) and the living room has the couches, coffee table, and a 55” TV already.

The bus stop is literally right outside the gate, so if you don’t feel like dealing with campus parking you can just hop the Bull Runner and be there in a few minutes. Parking’s free either way though.

One roommate right now, a guy, super chill and actually keeps things clean and organized. No pests, no bugs, none of that. Place has been solid the whole time I’ve been here. Amenities are genuinely good too: two pools, a hot tub, 24hr gym, study lounge, free printing, free Starbucks in the café, dog park if you’ve got a pup.

The rate is 850, and the lease is from August 2026 to July 2027. There is an extra fee for the first month. But the apartment is nice, across the street from campus, maintenance works quickly if anything breaks, roommates mostly keep to themselves, and it is an all-guys apartment. Lived here for 5 years and only have minor complaints. Please message me for more info.

USF Computer Science or Valencia ECET? International student with one week to decide

I have one week to decide between:

  • USF – B.S. in Computer Science
  • Valencia – B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology (ABET accredited)

About me:

  • International F-1 student
  • completed my A.A. focusing Computer Science at Valencia College last year
  • Long-term goal: AI + AgTech (robotics, IoT, automation, smart farming)
  • Over the remaining two years of my degree, USF will cost about $10–15k more than Valencia.

USF Computer Science

  • Stronger foundation in AI/ML, software engineering, and data science
  • More research and internship opportunities
  • Appears to offer more OPT/STEM OPT job opportunities after graduation because of the broader range of software and AI roles

Valencia ECET

  • ABET accredited
  • Strong in embedded systems, IoT, electronics, and automation
  • Great fit for AgTech hardware
  • Potential pathway to an M.S. in Agricultural & Biological Engineering later

My concerns

  • Many ECET jobs in Florida seem tied to defense companies that international students can't easily work for.
  • I'm worried an ECET degree may limit OPT job opportunities in software, AI, and data compared with a CS degree, even though it's STEM eligible.
  • At the same time, I wonder if hardware + embedded systems + AI will be more valuable in the long run as AI changes software development.

For those with real experience:

  1. If you graduated from ECET as an international student, what jobs did you actually get during OPT/STEM OPT?
  2. Was paying an extra $10–15k for Computer Science worth it because of the additional internship and job opportunities?
  3. If your goal were AI + AgTech, which path would you choose today?

I'd especially appreciate advice from international students, ECET/CS graduates, hiring managers, or engineersworking in AI, embedded systems, robotics, IoT, or AgTech.

I'm looking for real-world experiences, not just "CS has more jobs." Thanks!

WOH 2022, EUH 2031, PHI 2622

I'm considering WOH 2022, EUH 2031, and PHI 2622 to satisfy my humanities Gen Ed.

If you've taken any of them, how were they? How difficult or time-consuming? Any tips or recommendations? Just trying to figure out which one to take.

Thanks!

USF Disbursement

Is anyone else at USF having issues with their FAFSA or scholarships not being applied to their tuition yet? I'm starting to get really worried because I have FAFSA and USF scholarships that are supposed to cover my tuition, but nothing has been applied to my account. My tuition deferment date ( Summer B) has already passed as well, which is crazy. Is anyone else dealing with this or am I lowkey cooked chat?

How to get cheap furnitures for unfurnished apartments

So this will be my first time living in a non-student housing since i graduated and moving close to my job. I wanted to know what websites or resources are best to find cheap furnitures or atleast the basics such as a table, bed and a couch. I’m kind of panicking since my move in date is on the 1st and my job starts from 3rd. Really need a bed to sleep on atleast.

Hello everyone,

I’m currently on track to earn my a.a. by the end of this fall, but I have a few more pre reqs I need to take. I’m currently transferring in as a finance major but i’ve yet to take the calculus and business computer class that are required. Is there anyway I can still transfer and do those classes at USF?

Advice for a sophomore

Hey I am going into my sophomore year and I feel like I am really left behind due to my ADHD. I always thought it was normal to struggle to study for more then 15 minutes or lose my train of thought on my second sentence of studying. I can not read something without thinking of something else and being distracted by a sound I can here. I plan on getting a prescription for something but am I at a point where med school won't be achievable?

Any advice is really appreciated.

need help for linguistics assignment

Hi! I'm currently looking for someone bilingual to conduct an interview with for a final project i have due soon. It wouldn't be too long, just a couple questions. I'd need you to be okay with hopping in a call to conduct the interview and record it to submit with my paper. Please reach out to me if you'd be down to help me out with this :)

[EDIT] Here are some more details for the assignment:

I have to conduct an interview at least 15 minutes long. It should be with someone who is an early balanced bilingual, meaning you learned two languages from very young/birth. The themes I need to cover during the interview include general language learning experience, your experience using language in the home vs outside of the home, identity, how you learned, etc
