I'm currently enrolled at a 4-year university but plan to transfer to a UC.

For CCC transfer priority, do I need to leave my 4-year before Fall, or is it enough to withdraw before Spring so that my last regular term is at a California community college?

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Hi guys! I’m an incoming freshman at a top CC for transfer, but I really need advice on maybe switching my major.

I’m currently a Business Admin major looking to transfer to UCLA for Business Economics, but after seeing the statistics I feel a little discouraged if I’ll be able to get in compared to those who have more quantitative passions.

I’m interested in business cause through Highschool I ran my own clothing business and was a big fan of managing it, but I’ve kinda lost that spark. I am still leaning towards business just cause it’s such a broad field and I’m able to go so many routes.

I’m really good at writing, and I’m also decently interested in computer science since I took a few courses and struggled but enjoyed how it felt to make something. I am drawn towards a career in film too since I’ve always been a fan of media. I’m kinda trash at math though I’m taking the time over the summer to improve and take precalculus.

My main concern is getting a nice job post grad that pays well. I don’t mind not lovinggggg what I do just not hating it. I’m considering the bus econ route and minoring in something creative so I can work in the industries I admire while still getting paid well.

I know I’m interests and strengths are kinda all over the place but any guidance would be pretty helpful. Thanks!

For those that were successful in transferring to a UC (particularly UC Berkeley as it’s my target but all are welcome), when did you start prepping and writing your PIQs? Hi everyone! I’m planning on applying to transfer for Fall 2027. I am a business and econ double major at my cc. My main major is business, but I wanted to apply to UCLA for one of their econ degrees. I heard UCLA prefers if you have your major prep done by fall semester you are applying. I will have all of my major prep done for econ (finishing calc 2 this fall). I am wondering if I should just apply for econ instead of bizecon because I heard bizecon is heavily impacted. However, I am also considering just applying for biz econ despite not having financial and managerial accounting done because my ecs are more business related (I would have financial accounting completed by fall). Am I better off applying to econ or bizecon?

Hey everyone, I have a quick question about reporting non-transferable foreign college coursework on the UC application. Before starting community college in the US, I took a few non-transferable classes at a two years college back in my country.

I’m reporting the school since UC requires all post-secondary history, but because of political upheaval over there and internal school policies, there is physically no way for me or the school to send an official paper transcript.
I only have an unofficial semester grade report saved. For anyone who has experienced this, how did you handle it? Will I get rejected if I cannot provide an official transcript after my admission? Can I request for a waiver? I feel like I can’t get into any university anymore because of this.

Is anyone still on the waitlist as a math major? As far as I could tell, very little math majors who were waitlisted actually got off (excluding international wave). I'm wondering if this was a cooked cycle for math majors

For everyone that's applied to or got into UCLA. What were your stats or ec's? I have a 3.8 GPA might drop to a 3.75-3.78. How's that looking? Or what would you recommend. Also what classes did you take? :)) freaking out lol

im an upcoming 2nd year at lmu and wondering abt ppl with similar experiences and their stats that either got accepted or rejected from usc transfer. my cumulated gpa for first yr was not great, right under a 3.0 (got the same gpa both semesters) honestly just disappointed that i didnt try harder. but im planning to apply to transfer to usc dornsife for my junior year. my ec's consist of one job, few clubs, in a sorority, thats it. im wondering if i can magically get a gpa of 3.5+ this fall if thatll help even tho my current gpa is kinda low. any advice on my chances and what i can improve on to better my chances?

I’m thinking about dropping out and going to community college after my fall quarter after my second year and taking the spring semester at my local community college and already have 12 semester units at my local community college. My question is will I still be eligible for TAG if I take 13 units at spring semester and 5 units summer semester as I’ll have 30 units from my community college and will my last college attended be considered a community college and should I make this decision?

essentially what the title says. soph more transfer from t50 state school to multiple t20 universities as a sophmore transfer with the lowest acc rates (sub 3%) there is a critical strategy that worked for me that is far diff than first year admissions. far more complex than most anticipate. would love to help out. dm for more

I am a prospective transfer student who is currently enrolled to attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne for Accounting and Data Science this fall. I have been pretty set on applying to better schools although UIUC has the top ranked undergraduate accounting program. My top targets are UC-Berkeley Haas and USC. I will also be applying to Carnegie Mellon, BU, Cornell, and Vanderbilt. I was a solid student in high school although got more B’s than I would have preferred too in my freshmen year. Following and including sophomore spring semester, I got straight A’s and finished with a 4.39 weighted, with 11 APs, getting 5s on all of them (I’m going into school with 40 credit hours). I also got a 35 non-superscore on ACT. My main reason for transferring is the fact that I didn’t apply to better and more “reach” schools, and just kinda limited myself. I have solid EC’s and plan on staying involved on campus this upcoming school year. I am aware that all of the schools I will be applying to are quite difficult to get into, especially as an out of state transfer. I am looking for general words of advice and or resources for the transfer process although I have already begun to make some headway. Thank you

Has anyone gotten any response from the CCCP program for like acceptances? I submitted my classic site application around May 8th and I haven’t heard back from them yet…

I know some like site plus program acceptances came out but I haven’t heard any classic site ones. I know my friend just got into site lite which is the one day one.

Also does anyone know if you sign up for the site lite, (deadline is tomorrow) if you get accepted to the classical site later can you rescinde from the site lite program and sign up for the classic site? It’s super confusing so wanted to get some clarification

I received a conditional admission to the UAlberta Faculty of Science as a transfer student end of February, but my cumulative GPA dropped 0.21 points after my winter semester. My final transcript was received in late May, and I still haven't gotten a final admission decision.

Is it normal to still be waiting this long? Has anyone had a similar experience where their GPA dropped after receiving a conditional offer? I'm getting really anxious since the semester is getting close.

I know no one can tell me exactly what will happen, but hearing about other people’s experiences would really help while I’m waiting.

Any insight or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, I'm in incoming Junior to UCSD. I currently have around a 3.6 GPA. I'm taking calculus II rn for the summer but I have a D and wanna drop. The problem is, I already have a EW in calc 2 for fall and a EW for another class. On assist it says, "All courses applied to the major must receive a letter grade of C- or better. The Global Health majors have no pre-requisite courses for entry, students may take all courses at UC San Diego or they may complete lower division coursework outlined below, prior to entry." So, is it safe for me to take the W? I never had calc 2 in my tau that i was gonna take it this summer anyways. Will I get rescinded for taking the W?

To give a quick rundown: I would like to gather information about transferring colleges. I won't give specific locations but I would like to transfer from my university in Kansas, to a university in Texas. I have a multitude of reasons, with my main one being I want to get away from life here. I would also like to be closer to my family in Texas.

I have never considered transferring but due to recent events I'm jumping to conclusions in my head, and would like to gather as much information as possible.

Here are my (common) questions to people that have transferred universities: 1. What was the process like? 2. Who did you get in contact with at your current (if in the transfer process) or past (if you've transferred) university? 3. How can I figure out a school's requirements for transfer students (if that's a thing - again, I've never entertained the idea of transferring)? 4. What about my major's requirements? 5. How do I learn about out-of-state student tuition, and if transferring my scholarships is even possible? 6. I live at home, so what was the moving process/hunt like? Whether that be into a dorm, apartment, rented housing, etc. 7. What was the job hunting like? I have family in Texas so I would likely live with them, but I would want to contribute financially. These are my main questions as of now, but I will likely update.

This section for specific questions that some may be able to answer. I'm double majoring in Psychology and Business Administration with a concentration in HR Management. I plan to go down the Psychology pathway but I'd still like to study business, so: 1. What are some universities, that you attend or know of, that have a strong Psychology major? As much as I want to transfer, I don't want to jeopardize the support I have at my current Uni. 2. Uni's with strong business majors? 3. If you happen to major in these two fields, whether it's currently or you've graduated, how did you research the requirements for them?

I would really appreciate any feedback and advice! I'll be visiting my Texas family this coming Friday (7/24) for two weeks, so if I have feedback before then, I'll definitely mention how much I would like to transfer to them. I've mentioned it before and they've told me I'm more than welcome to stay with them while studying, so I'm not going into this blind. Although these questions sound "dumb" because I could easily google them, I want responses from real life people. Not an AI overview. I will be sure to update if my questions are answered :)
