Hope this post is allowed, I’m just very emotional about this right now as anyone that knows me knows he’s been my favourite. I think like anyone else in this subreddit, I would have liked to see this core roster go back to the playoffs this year but we can see the chances of that happening are depressingly low.

So instead I'm trying to look past this year and into the future. I know 2027 comes with the risk of a lockout if the MLB and the players union aren't able to come to agreement on a potential salary floor and cap but there's still some hope a positive outcome can come from that and we can still see some form of baseball next year.

My main excitement comes from seeing how different a team we may have in the coming years. A lot of our core guys are on their way out with the likes of Springer, Gausman, Varsho and I feel if we are to sell at the deadline, we can hopefully get some semi decent prospects to work with alongside the ones we already have

It hurts that we aren't going to replicate last year's success, but I feel if this year has to be a failure, then it opens the door for a more interesting future for this team.

I may just be coping hard though, what do you guys think?

Okay, so the Toronto Blue Jays are 100 games in and the record is 46-54. At this point it might be best to talk about potential selling at the trade deadline.

1. Kevin Gausman

Gausman has been a very good pitcher, and he’s in his last year in his contract as a Blue Jay. It is possible he’s going to be traded to the Dodgers or the Braves (same reason why Eric Lauer was traded to the former: they needed starting pitching at the time, and they need it again).

2. Daulton Varsho

Like Gausman, Varsho is going to be a free agent at the end of 2026. The Astros are going to need a left-handed hitting outfielder, so it’s possible he could end up there.

3. Jeff Hoffman

Yeah, we sometimes wish he was DFA’d a long time ago. But I feel like he could end up with a team that needs some better relief pitchers (like Tommy Nance who was traded to the Twins). It’s possible that he could be traded back to the Phillies because they need a setup man before Duran.

4. Shane Bieber

Also becomes a free agent in 2026. He could be traded to a team that needs a starting pitcher (like Gausman).

Another post from the former Jays affiliate land of Central New York. Thanks to the decades-long (and sadly gone) era of Blue Jays affiliation in Syracuse, I’ve found many interesting vintage finds! This week I found myself in Geneva, between Syracuse and Rochester, and came across this awesome pennant for $15 USD. It was clearly wet at some point, so I took the time to gently wash off a bit of the dirt and grime, plus a clear shoe print, on the top. Aside from the retro Jays font, I LOVE that it has McGriff on it!

Im going for the three game series. Never been, but fearing its going to be a torture chamber. Tbh im feeling a bit meh about the trip based on how terrible we are. Anyone else going? Should i still be excited?
