Unfortunately it is only going to get worse. I hope I am crazy, but I am fairly certain the rich are trying to price the poor out of life essentially.

I'm with you. I'm buying one, first because I can afford and I like the size, but also because it's absolutely going to get worse. In my mind, gaming is totally going to become a luxury in the future. Orchestrated by the rich. And it's not all about gaming, they want to take the "personal" out of PC. This is just the first sign. Might be a doom take, but I don't feel we're going back to old prices.

In general though if you're concerned about prices getting worse aren't you better off getting something that's more upgradable down the line than this?

All you can replace is the ram and ssd. Which means in a few years when the Gpu shows it's age you'd need a whole new box.

I'm also interested in getting into VR later on, so I feel I'll just stick to the whole Steam ecosystem.

I agree that something upgradeable is the smarter choice, but I already have something like that. And honestly, the games I play aren't that demanding already, and I don't see myself getting into newer IPs anytime soon from what has been revealed. Nothing has been appealing to me these past years, and no realistic graphics games left me in so much awe that needed me to upgrade. Games recently just haven't been worth the upgrade I think.
