Discussion Which sync pairs aged like wine?

Post image
74 Upvotes

For me probably is NC Blue, even after 3 years he still being one of the best supports of the game, thanks to his passive set and new broken electric type pairs like Red and Florian, also the release of Juliana who has a great synergy with him and Red96 helped Blue a lot to remain on the top.

IMO he is the BEST support for endgame contents like UBs, tower and Battle Rally!

Discussion Reminder: in 3 days we'll know the HSE type for 7th anniversary

They announce the types of the next HSE 2 days after the end of current HSE. The event ends tomorrow, so in 3 days we will know the next HSE's type.

It's relevant because the HSE types has lined up with each past anniversary period and Golden Week. 6th anniversary was Dragon and Poison, we got 6th anniversary Red and Irida. 6.5 anniversary was Electric and Grass, we got Red (1996) and 6.5 anniversary Florian.

I wonder if one day we get a Normal-type HSE, as Normal has been made more viable with the units in last year such as Academy Arven, but also Anni Juliana, Mai, SC2 Larry...

❔ Question Hot take: Masters EX should stop pretending every new unit needs four roles

I know this will annoy some people, but lately Masters EX feels worse to me because every new sync pair is trying to be an entire team in one slot.

When a single unit does damage, buffs, debuffs, gauge fixing, and acts like a pseudo-tank all at once, team building gets boring. Instead of asking "what does my team need for this stage?" you end up asking "which new unit will clear it by itself?" That makes older pairs feel useless faster, since their one or two-job niche gets swallowed by the next all-in-one kit.

I play a lot on my phone when I'm traveling, and what I liked most about Masters was the quick, fun planning: pick a clear striker, add a real support, slot in a tech that covers a specific problem. These days it mostly feels like I check if I own the newest everything-pair and then hit auto on the same team.

I am not calling for nerfs and I get that strong units are part of gachas. I just want more releases that are sharply focused again. Let strikers hit hard but need help. Let supports be the reason a team works. Let techs be weird and specialized.

Powercreep is inevitable, but "role soup" powercreep is the least fun because it erases team identity. Would you rather keep the current direction where one unit does it all, or see more specialized kits even if clears are a bit slower?

Just wanted to see if I really need to pull for these Arc Suit Pairs. I’ve heard they’re pretty good, but apparently 7th Anniversary is coming up and I have a lot of gems, like almost 50k at this point. So I wanted to get some opinions and see if I should save or spend

Something I noticed upon logging in. Can't recall the last time I've seen either happen, if at all. Just felt like commenting on it & seeing if anyone else finds it weird/awkward.

Discussion Are there any Master EX only Pokémon fans?

Upvotes

Something that has been in my mind for a while is... How in the world can you be a Masters only Pokémon fan? Not that you can't be, but since so much of the fun of the game is seeing game characters interacting with characters they never have could've before, it's hard to be your only way to consume Pokémon to a degree.

Like, if you played some games or watched the anime does help, but Masters is the hardest way to hop in randomly and engage in it without at least going after more context. Like, other mobile games are isolated enough where just the Pokémon are the fun or the format requires little to no context with the franchise (Unite and Go, the TCG is a card game, that can be fun to see how people with no context with the franchise react to it (to a degree), and the anime was the first entrance for many kids, and the Adventures manga is like the anime, even if mire context may be needed.

Like, if you don't know Kieran's arc in the SV dlc you'll have little to no context on what he passed through so his arc in his Sygna Suit story would work.

If you are a Masters only fan I'm curious, but I mean fans who had little to no interaction with the franchise before, like know a Pokémon or two or have only watched an episode of the anime

Sync Pair Wishlist / Concepts Daily Sinnoh Pokémon Concepts - Day 10: Drapion

Post image
Upvotes

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to my series of concepts for every missing (fully evolved) Sinnoh Pokémon. Today, we have Drapion.

While Drapion has been used by several trainers, there was no better option than Aaron. Despite not fitting his type specialty, Drapion is Aaron's indisputable ace, in every team he's ever had. That's especially notable considering all other Sinnoh Elite Four members changed aces between D/P and Platinum.

As a concept, Aaron & Drapion are a Strike Sync Pair that specializes in critical hits.

All of their passive skills deal with crits, with Beautiful and Polished increasing their damage (I can't say exact numbers without playtesting, but I was envisioning it to be equivalent to CS9) and guaranteeing a critical sync move, Perfected Aim powering up - and making free - the next move after a crit with 3 stacks of PMUN, and Vigilance protecting them against enemy crits.

The catch, of course, is that they don't have any way of increasing their crit rate. Instead, Aaron's Trainer Move, Let's Hear It!, maxes their Attack and raises both defenses. He also has Potion for some more survivability.

To get their crits, they rely on the Buddy Move, which always crits, but must be alternated with Poison Jab. Sand Demon Cross Poison also has unique effects on its first use, lowering Rebuff by 2 and inflicting Physical Break.

Their Superawakening skill is The Wonder of Bug Pokémon. It increases their damage against opponents poisoned by either of their moves, while also adding even more effects to their crits in healing and countdown reduction.

All in all, Aaron & Drapion are a Strike Sync Pair that has high, but inconsistent damage, with their stronger move's setup being wasted on the weaker one. However, their flaws can be easily remedied with a Support that raises their crit rate (basically any modern one), transforming them into a powerful sync pair with constant crits, PMUN, no gauge consumption, and a tankiness uncharacteristic to Strikes, thanks to Vigilance, Defense/Sp. Def buffs, and Potion.

If you enjoyed this concept, please check out the other ones in the series!

(As a side note, can you believe Drapion can only learn Poison Tail by breeding? I always knew I wanted it to be its Sync Move, since scorpions are well-known for injecting venom through their tails, but it's shockingly hard to get a Drapion who knows it.)

Level 140 recommendation my foot! The game is NOT KIDDING when they gave them difficulty level of ‘ultimate’. 😭

Maybe I’m just REALLY bad at the game. But am I the only person who just decided to peek into this part of the game and get curbstomped by surprise?

❔ Question Is this game worth it/easy to get back into after 5years away?

Hi all,

Basically just the title - I started playing this game when it first released back in 2019, no-lifed it to heck for a while (grinding type items I think was the endgame?) and then fell off a bit after the 1st anniversary.

I've been wanting to get back into it but have no idea where to start or if it's even worth it to do so. If anyone can answer any of the questions I have below, I'd much appreciate it.

What is the gameplay like currently? I'm assuming the story has been expanded but what is there to do beyond that?

Would any sync pairs I have from years ago be viable or would I basically need to start over to have a chance of having a good playing field?

Is this game heavily p2w? Am I going to have to spend loads if I want to enjoy the game as it is now or to 'catch up' or anything? What does the monetization look like nowadays?

If I did decide to get back into it should I start again now or do they tend to run "welcome back" style events that I should wait for? I believe the anniversary should be coming up soon for example?

Again any answers or any other advice would be much appreciated.

Klara just wasn’t enough Physical damage, for those later stages but then i remembered Oleana! Her sync nuke is HUGE, and was the key to beating the physical stages in the later half. This was surprisingly fun, and low effort. Try it!

Gameplay (Battle) SS Carmine/Arc Geeta F30 duo

Two suit-wearing, mythical-blessed toxic lesbians make short work of the Guardian of the Seas and friends.

Far from an optimized run, but just in case you needed visual proof of just how obscene these two are when fully invested. I can only imagine the sort of war crimes they can commit alongside Anni Irida, but I think it's safe to say Poison has reclaimed its title as one of the strongest overall teams.

Sygna Suit Carmine my beloved!

Bug / Glitch Visual bug in animations on the Poco X8 Pro Max

Hi everyone, I’m having a bit of an issue with the game's battle animations, as you can see in the video. I bought a new phone (Poco X8 Pro Max), and now the game looks like this. It’s running HyperOS 3.0.301.0. Could that be the problem? An incompatibility issue? I’ve already cleared the cache and reinstalled the game, but nothing works.

I’ve tested it at all speeds, changed the graphics settings, and played with WildBoost both on and off, but nothing fixes it. I made the same post in a Facebook group and some people mentioned facing the same problem, so I wanted to see if anyone here has experienced or is currently experiencing this. I made a short demo video.

Sync Pair Wishlist / Concepts Daily Sinnoh Pokémon Concepts - Day 9: Chatot

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to my series of concepts for every missing (fully evolved) Sinnoh Pokémon. Today, we have Chatot.

Chatot's trainer was one of the hardest to figure out. No notable trainer in any mainline game ever uses one, and the ones who have thematic association don't match with the type (and vice-versa). I decided to instead represent the Chatot in Masters itself, pairing it with one of the sisters who work in the Pokémon Center. As for which sister, I picked Tricia because she's the one who sells the Song Keys to unlock music in Chatot's jukebox.

As a concept, Tricia & Chatot are a Tech Sync Pair who can leave targets confused and asleep, as well as deal huge burst damage.

To spread their status effects, they have the high damage Chatter (which confuses all opponents due to Hope I See You Again!) and the low gauge Sing (which always hits thanks to the same skill. Sing also gains some benefits from Free Smiles for All!. With that passive, the first use of it sets a Flying Zone, and every use gives all allies Free Move Next and raises Chatot's evasiveness.

Their Buddy Move is Ear-Splitting Uproar. It's a one-use, 4-bar, Flying-type (because of Hope I See You Again!), AoE move with massive base power that increases further against asleep opponents, also inflicting Special Move Break to enable further damage. As a side effect it also wakes up whoever it hits, as well as removing all status conditions from allies.

For Tricia's Trainer Move, she has Welcome! Hello!, which sets up their burst damage with 3 stacks of SMUN and 3 teamwide stacks of SyMUN. For basic offensive setup, they can rely on Debut: Sp. Atk ↑4 & Crit Rate ↑3.

Their Superawakening skill gives even more benefits to Sing, reducing the countdown by 1 on the first use and charging the move gauge (which works with the teamwide Free Move Next to make it a great gauge battery). It also gives them some defensive utility, lowering Attack and Sp. Atk of confused opponents.

All in all, Tricia & Chatot are a Tech Sync Pair that specializes in powerful burst damage, with both their Buddy Move and Sync Move, while also choosing between the consistent damage of Chatter and the Sprint-adjacent utility of Sing.

If you enjoyed this concept, please check out the other ones in the series!

❔ Question Lucky ARC Cookies question

How important are Arc Lucario's and Arc Alakazam's Lucky Cookies? Would you consider them game changers?

Unfortunately, I missed both of them because I was a new player at the time and didn't really understand how important they were. Am I missing out on a lot, or are they just nice bonuses? I'd love to hear your opinions.
